      Today, I received the THINKA from Thinka EU . I'm excited to try it, especially because it works with Apple HomeKit. Can you please talk to us about the voice controller like Siri (Apple HomeKit), Alexa (Amazon), and Google Assistant (Google Home) and what are the devices (gateway/ bridge) need to work with KNX with full control and access such as Thinka, RealKNX (proServ/proKNX), and so. How it's work and what is the best device for this situation. Thank you very much.

    Awesome video, I think you have the best KNX tutorial on CZcams. I have a quick newbie question. Let's say I want to add a second switch that replicates the same functions of the one you have in the video, green and red light, LCD dimmer. (imagine the two switches placed at the ends of a wide room). Can I add the second switch's group objects the same existing group addresses? Or should I duplicate the group address, one per switch? Thanks in advance for your time.

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  Před 5 lety

      You don't have to create new Group Addresses. You must drag and drop the Group Objects of the new switch to the existing Group Addresses (Red Light, Green Light, etc) or you can use the extended copy app for ETS 5 (my.knx.org/shop/product?product_type_category=etsapps&product_type=extended-copy)

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  Před 4 lety

      Hi! This will not be easy. From Diagnostics in ETS you can use Group Monitor. In a similar situation like yours i used the manual switch of the actuators in order to take notes for the controlled lights and then i made a new project in ETS.

    • @AntonioDiBacco
      @AntonioDiBacco Před 4 lety

      @@PoseidwnTech Ok, thank you very much for your help. I did a script to test all possible groups (with "knxtool read" running all the night long) and at least I have the association of each GA (group address) to PA (physical address) of the actuator. Now to understand the actuator channel associated with a GA I will send a telegram the the GA with knxtool and check which "led" turns on the actuator. In this way I don't have to reprogram the wall switches but only the actuator and I will also add a "broadcast" group to every channel to switch off everything from a single button!!!

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  Před 5 lety

      Yes but it will be risky. Without the ETS project you will not know the individual address of the KNX devices neither the Group addresses. So you will have to use Group and Bus monitor in order to figure out the structure of the project.

    what happens if you press 2 switches "at the same time"? will there be congestion on the BUS magistrale? with one device not being able to receive the command?

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  Před 4 lety

      When you press a button for example to turn on a light the KNX Switch will send a telegram to the bus. The transmission of the telegram starts after the bus has remained unoccupied for at least a time period. So since you press 2 buttons at the same time the 1st one will send the telegram and the light will be turned on. The second one will also send the telegram but it will receive a "BUSY" acknowledgment so it will repeat the transmission.

    I have KNX in my home, but the electrical company refuse to give me the ets project file so that I can do small changes. They have given me an outprint of all the group addresses and all the individual addresses, but that is almost useless.
    I have understood that I need to reprogram almost every device if I want to have new functionality which I know exists in the switches. As an example I want to change from comfort mode to economic mode in the thermostats when the electricity is expensive. I will then need to provide a group address for this comfort mode function in the Gira switch. Then I can change this from Home Assistant or my Logic Machine Reactor v3 for example
    I am reluctant to try it on my own because I dont want to break anything. Everywhere else in technical systems you can look at the existent config and change only one tiny bit. If it is still ok you can go on, if not roll back. This is not possible with knx.

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  Před 3 lety

      It is very easy to make small or big changes in KNX with the ETS Software. I believe that after the installation the ETS Project belongs to the home owner if there are no economical issues, or maintenance contract. But be aware that if the customer wants the ETS Project to make changes on his own, then the electrical company is not any more responsible for the installation.

    • @02dag32
      @02dag32 Před 3 lety

      @@PoseidwnTech You are probably right about their hesitation, but they are very good at rejecting all responsibility if the customer has done the slightest thing. Here in Norway there are 5 years to make reclamations but in respect to the electrical system this boils down to fuses, switches or devices that doesnt work any longer. Has happened once in now 4 years.
      But I am interested in someone that can do the KNX part for me. Or at least one switch so that I can do the rest myself.

    Καλησπέρα, έχεις πάρα πολύ χρήσιμα βίντεο! Είναι εφικτό να βάλεις υπότιτλους ή να τα βάλεις (όσα δεν υπάρχου) και στο άλλο κανάλι σου με ελληνική επεξήγηση? Σαν προτεραιότητά μετάφρασε αν μπορείς τα βίντεο με KNX

      Πλέον δεν έχουμε άλλο κανάλι εκτός από το Poseidwn Tech. Η αρχική ιδέα ήταν να δημιουργήσουμε 2 κανάλια ένα ελληνικό και 1 αγγλικό αλλά χρειαζόταν πάρα πολύ χρόνο και για τα δύο, οπότε αναγκαστήκαμε να εγκαταλείψουμε την ιδέα... 😔 Οι υπότιτλοι είναι μια λύση αλλά απαιτεί και αυτό πολύ χρόνο οπότε δεν είναι στα άμεσα σχέδια μας. Μακάρι το κανάλι μας στο CZcams να μεγαλώσει αρκετά ώστε να δουλεύουμε μόνο γι αυτό και να έχουμε χρόνο και για ελληνικά video!

      To ETS5 Lite είναι πολύ καλό για να αρχίσεις. Device είναι κάθε συσκευή που συνδέεται στο BUS. π.χ. 1 ενεργοποιητής 24 θέσεων είναι μια συσκευή, ένας διακόπτης 1 συσκευή, 1 αισθητήρας φωτεινότητας 1 συσκευή κτλ. Αν το έργο σου έχει παραπάνω από 20 συσκευές τότε χρειάζεσαι το ETS5 Professional. Mετά την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση του e-Campus εκτός από το κουπόνι έκπτωσης για το ETS5 Lite, σου δίνουν και έκπτωση προκειμένου να αναβαθμίσεις το ETS5 Lite σε ETS5 Professional.

    τι πιστεύεις ότι αξίζει κάποιος να ασχοληθεί με KNX vs η QBUS

    • @PoseidwnTech
      @PoseidwnTech  Před 4 lety

      Με το QBUS δεν έχω ασχοληθεί οπότε δεν μπορώ να εκφέρω γνώμη. Για το KNX έχω να πω ότι δουλεύει 30 χρόνια τώρα, υποστηρίζεται περίπου από 500 κατασκευαστές και ότι ακόμα και αν έχεις σε μια εγκατάσταση τον πρώτο KNX διακόπτη που βγήκε πριν από τόσα χρόνια μπορείς να ελέγξεις για παράδειγμα μια κάμερα του 2019 χρησιμοποιώντας drug & drop από το ETS!!!

      Unfortunately on a longer video the number of ADS is higher. ADS allow us to keep our channel free from sponsor and be able to provide more objective and valuable content.
