Why do players have to gyrate around so much? It totally distracts from the performance and does not equate to musicality or expression. Cannot watch this.

For me it makes me more confident in my playing and makes everything more dramatic.
Yes, playing without the partition and moving too much change the auditor into a spectator, but a musician has to serve the music, not the public. Its a thing Ernest Ansermet (swiss conductor of XIX°s) deplored.
There is no conductor, so are in a way conducting each other with their movement.
@@benjaniszewski conducting each other means nothing, and it shouldn't work if they don't have all the exact same way of thinking.
