I purchased this set in the very beginning of 2020. Purchased brand new from Home Depot. In the spring of 2021 it had issues with the door lock, bad door seal and switch in the controls. The company was great and extended excellent customer service even though they first started with the stance that they will only cover 1year. It is now only 2 years old and now the machine won't start, control panel is clicking and I am deeply regretful of my purchase. It is sad and pathetic that consumers can not rely on major appliance companies to step up. My opinion is that major appliances should be expected to work perfectly for no less than 3 years. Curious to know why folks are pressured and assumed to buy extended warranty. Please note, when the repair tech came for the initial visit, he said that he had seen these issues quite a bit. Buyer beware, even buying a brand new set and paying full price, you cannot expect a reliable appliance for years to come. Deeply disturbing and disappointing.

Owned this washing machine for 6 months. Theses new washing machines are pretty effiecient but comes with a huge drawback. It has soo many problems. Washing machines loc on its own that even the 3 sec hold unlock button wont unlock it or unplugging it and turning of the breaker wont unlock it. U need to unlock it out of diagnostic mode which only technicians know about which i saw them do, not even tech support knows this button sequence. lots of suds problems cause not enough water thats why tide pods arent reccomended. leaking. clothes not washing properly cause it wants to be water effiecient meaning less water usage which actually means clothes dont get washed 100% properly sometimes if theres too many clothes. its loud. Ive used many many machines over the years and this one has given me more problems in 6 months than the last 20 years combined of the other machines.

Im glad it works but damn the spin cycle makes no sense most washers just start spinning fast and its done in five minutes.

We bought this washer in June of 2019. It's broke twice (expect hefty repair bills of hundreds of dollars). If you are a Millennial who lives alone, does nothing but go to your office job and play video games, maybe this will work for you. If you do dirty things (camp, hike, mountain bike, work construction, have kids who play outside or garden or anything like that) you will have to wash your clothes twice, with a 2 hour cycle each time just to get them sort of clean, using no soap the second time. This machine relies on beating the crap out of your clothes to get them clean (expect your clothes to wear out faster), because it uses next to no water and NO, there is not a way to adjust the water level whatsoever. It "senses" the "needed" water for you and I cry BS. So you cannot wash dog blankets or anything you want to really get a good swishing of water (like poopy baby clothes--hell no). You are better off to just hand wash your clothes and using this to spin them. It's just my husband and I, and our two 8lb rescue dogs who have cotton blankets that are small and the inner pad in their bed filled with loose foam and small is all we wash. We wash the pads separate from the blankets and about 2-3 small loads of clothes an linens a week and the motor went out after 2 years. The repair tech said it was from "overloading" the machine, which is laughable. My husband washes weekly: 4 work t-shirts, 2 pair of Carhart pants, 1 sweatshirt and a couple of nonwork T-shirts and one or two pairs of shorts or pants and some boxer shorts and sox. It's a modest load, and he's a 170lb guy so his clothes are not large. If you have kids, expect laundry to take twice as long, but need to wash more small loads. The idea this washer saves any water or electricity does not take into account that you cannot wash hardly anything in it (more loads) and you have to run it double cycles to get dirty clothes clean. It's a hunk of crap, and when the tech pulled the back off, the inside parts that connect the motor to the drum were rusted bad. We live in the California Central Valley in a hot/dry climate, so why the inside of the machine is rusted so bad after 2 years is beyond me. No moisture problem at all in our house or garage. We regret buying this machine so much and would love to set it on fire, riddle it withe bullets and also run it over 20 times with my husband's 4 wheeler. Also, Whirlpool is shit, they don't even have any belief that their machine will last longer than a year because their warranty is 1 year. At least Samsung and LG have a 2 year warrant. Worst purchase ever and I will never buy another Whirlpool.

@nolan scire Front load washers can develop mold and mildew if they are not allowed to dry out completely after each wash. The best thing to do is to leave the door and dispenser tray open after you're done washing. You may also want to run a cleaning tablet though yours to see if that helps: bit.ly/3zGsxm4. Removing and cleaning off the detergent dispenser drawer can help too. Another thing to keep in mind is that you don't need to use nearly as much washing detergent in a front load unit. Hopefully these suggestions help with the issue.

It won't switch off of "load and go", it thinks there is no detergent in the manual dispenser. I'm going to have to change my detergent preference because of this stupid machine. I'm trying to lessen the amount of plastic I purchase but evidently Whirlpool have an interest in liquid detergent from a plastic bottle (that is mostly water). I've read articles from others saying the "load and go" leaks, so you may want to do more research.

I have this washer & HATE IT!! If you have allergies or pets this is not the washer for you. It uses almost no water even on a heavy duty cycle. I've had mine 18 months paid about $3,500 (bought pedestals) & it is now for sale & I have a Speed Queen Classic on order! It takes 2hrs 19min for heavy duty load of towels to wash. So anyone looking for a FL washer skip this one.

What it saves in water, it uses up in electricity! Clothes don’t get clean with about a gallon of water, so it has to wash 2 hours! It is an expensive piece of garbage.I am a single senior, used it for a year, then it quit. For over a year, I’ve been washing by hand. There aren’t any laundromats in this county.

Frontload Washers do not use much water. If it uses too much water, that can damage the machine.

@buddhagurung4721 That can be caused by a number of issues. Have you had a service technician come out to diagnose it? If it was purchased from Abt please contact us at 800-860-3736 so we can help.
