May I ask do you condition your water in any way before watering (do yo acidify it), or do you use rainwater?

We use rainwater when we can get it but it often comes at the wrong time of year for us. We do acidify our water using vinegar.

Yes very inorganic mostly sandy soil and pumice

I really like the top dressing you use around your plants. What type of rock is it?

It's crushed fill rock we bought from Home Depot. They probably have a few different varieties to pick from from any of the big hardware chain stores.
