- Can you round-trip it? Of course you can. The total drive is around 8 hours. The better question is: Should you drive from Miami to KeyWest in a day? It's a challenge because the time budget is low to make it back it back at a reasonable hour.
Ride along and decide for yourself if you want to attempt cruising to Key West and back...in ONE day.
My top reasons are: Visiting the Old Florida vibe, Cruising the Overseas Highway (one of the most scenic drives in the USA), AND, of course, walking Duvall Street and visiting Key West. Key West has so much, even if you're there for just a few hours. You can visit the famous conch houses, walk Duvall Street and take your picture at the Southern Most Point in the United States. Oh thank you! They are so fun to film but alot of work to edit! 🧐. Everything is from a GoPro Hero 11. It worked really well for wildlife in Glacier National Park which was my latest longer video.

Yes but WHY WOULD YOU. we make this trip 1-2 times a year it takes us 8-9 hrs to do it. There are too many places to see and visit. The trip down is part of the beautiful trip to Key West. When your in the Keys take off your watch and enjoy yourself and Life. Never rush. Stop and smell the roses….
You are spot on! BUT, there are some situations where there is only a day. We had to decide - does someone get to see the keys and KeyWest or - not?? We picked the one-dayer option. Hectic! And no stopping to smell any roses. 🌹 🧐

Where do you park in key west , planning a trip
There's actually quite a few options: metered street parking (usually have to walk a few blocks). There are also several city parking lots and private garages within the area. We found metered street parking fairly easily about 4 blocks away from Duvall Street.

I agree, except it is one of the USA’s ultimate road trips for someone who’s never been and only has a day.

There always are. Since this was a Miami to KeyWest and back in a day video, there was no time for a long stop. 😉
