We should all be thankful for the joy of Dolly.
Dolly has a flawless right hand fingerpick technique that is very unique. And I still can't get over her ability to fret that guitar with those long fingernails! Quite extraordinary. As incredible and prolific she is as a songwriter, I don't think she gets enough credit as a guitarist and musician overall.
I've thought the same things for years...and she's still doing it. I guess file it under "things only guitarists notice and ponder."
First time I’ve come across her u guitar playing, and went looking for a comment like this. Damn is she great. There’s another video where she sings a song she wrote about Johnny Carson, and her self-accompaniment is even lovelier than this one - such a great rhythmic feel from her right hand with those nails adding a unique kind of shuffle sound. So cool
Dolly is so lovable and sweet.
She is such a treasure. There will never be another soul like hers. She is just so genuine and talented. I was 6 when this came out and I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. Thanks Dolly for being part of my life...
She is truly an American treasure
An absolutely talented and classy lady! God Bless Dolly!
Yes it is
She hasn't changed one bit VERY PRECIOUS LADY
This song is exactly what I needed today,I suffer severe depression and the last few days have been especially bad😢Thankyou Dolly❤Peace, love and healing to all from Aussie Kim
She is so freakin' cute and insanely talented!!
I miss Johnny Carson
Dolly is alive. Had to check. 😩
Every upload notification scares me.
lol
Yes, me too!😮
Yeah I thought so too. She's still alive and 78 years old. God bless her.
@@john81566 Only 78? She’s younger than I thought.

Absolutely human, beautiful and nice. Often disarmingly charming.
I love this bright orange outfit she's wearing. She looks as cute as a speckled pup under a red wagon and her song, Travelin' Man, is adorable. Those of us in Tennessee are very proud of our number one export!
Dolly is just full of talent! Always been one of my favorites. ❤
Dolly is one of the finest people to walk this earth. A very talented lady who is not only kind but generous. She puts all other wealthy folks to shame by putting millions of books into the hands of children. God bless her with an extremely long life.
I love you Dolly Parton! ❤️🔥
Having watched it all, I think 1976. Pure gold. Who wouldn't fall in love with her? I think Johnny did....
My first crush when I was 12 in 1979 no joke ❤
Country. Growing up in the COUNTRY.
I remember Dolly since I was a child. Classy!
Dolly was so pretty in 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias...
Such a bright, ambitious, charming, and talented lady. America should be proud of mostly nurturing and encouraging her potential in music and business.
Amazing Then.
Amazing Now.
Amazing Legend Forever.
Never heard the traveling man song, but that is awesome!
Dolly and Carl Thomas Dean have been married for almost 60 years now. Blessings to the both of them for their faithfulness and perseverance.
Look at that hair 😊😊
An amazing and incredibly sweet entertainer...if you don't smile watching Dolly, there's something not right with you
I love dolly's little laugh, it's... unique, you know its her when you hear it anywhere on TV or radio
I love Dolly always have.
Dolly Parton is my 9th cousin thrice removed. William Worsham and Elizabeth Eppes, my 8th great grandparents, are our common ancestors. They were born in England and died in Virginia, Colonial America, in middle-late 1600s
I love that she tried to get the audience to clap on 2 and 4, and they STILL clapped on 1 and 3. The un-musical will never unlearn that bad habit 😆
😂😂
I have no idea when the 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 are, or whether it's a 4 count or 3 or 7. 😂 But I know what I like.
I, just love her! She's, so down to earth ❤
johnny's been gone nearly 20 years
I think his last show was in 92 and his last guest was Bette Midler
@@elevenbucks5682 Yes, and Robin Williams; his definitive -- and wise!! -- choices for that special goodbye...
@@elevenbucks5682 i meant since he's passed away.
@@Ben_Hattie I thought you might mean that.
I know a lawyer who is still working who has taken chickens for payment, and who has accepted carpentry work as payment.
Dolly Pardon-my-sassiness. #WordPlay
That was awesome!!!
Ooo one episode with intro sequence please

gold!
If I had words to say about Dolly I'd say them but I don't😇
Hello l just arrive to meet you today, it is such a long way well anyway I feel really very nice to see you are the rock. I wish you have a good time all the times.
Just wondering - does anyone know the year? Isn't Dolly the sweetest person?
Title reads "growing up in the County". Which county (read: jail) would that be? Or did you mean Country? I think the channel editors must be ESL.
Did she die? Whew...Google said no.
She lost her pooch as she got older. Huh??
I don’t think it’s nice of her husband to never watch her performances. You’d think the guy would at least attend one show per tour/album to show support, encouragement, devotion and appreciation to your WIFE. I understand her husband once attended a Hollywood party, something/someone upset him and he declared to never show up again. Be serious. Some jerk stranger upsets you and you take it out on your marriage? Be a man and cheer your ass off at her next show… I feel better.
We don’t know what the details of what happened and Doly herself doesn’t have any problem with it so neither should anyone else
Dolly can PLAY!!!
But, those nails sound
horrible on the strings.
