  • On the 3rd of June, I had my return visit to Thorpe Park, equipped with a Full Throttle Fastrack and a Coaster Climb at the end of the day. This video, filmed with my new GoPro Hero 4 Session, shows part of the Coaster Climb in which we are taken into the Control Room for the Swarm and given some details on how the B&M Wingrider works! Please Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe I really appreciate it!

Great to see this. I was the first official operator (and Rides manager) of this ride and responsible for initial training and placement of certain features eg where the host buttons were located/cameras. Many an hour have I sat at that control panel and operated that ride (and evacuate it). From testing the ride in the mud, before the station was built, to introducing themed hi-viz I had lots of great times there. Keep posting!

Teddy Fitzpatrick ikr 😂😂 tbh I think I really surprised him, as at the top, he kept asking if we knew things, and I knew everything 😂😂 tbh me and my brother spoke to them about other coasters and they didn't really care, nor have a clue 😂

the newer B&M panels are nice, it's cool how they can hold the restraints unlock button and hold the selected two seats on the touch screen now

@@jamesfuller8980 Nemesis (the real one) unlocks the harnesses in pairs of rows, so 1+2 together etc. When the train came into the station, the harnesses would automatically unlock. Galactica (air) was row by row, so each row was controlled individually. Its good to see more flexibility being built into the newer rides

This reminded me how I need to get a different waterproof for the next time I visit. Found out the blue waterproof from reggeta is the same shade as the park staff

      Avoid alton towers
Thorpe park just spend the extra price on thorpe park atlease everything is maintained sure everything breaks down but you shouldn't have a bolt fly of like it did on smiler thorpe park spend money on the rides

so basically if the operator hated someone they can undo their specific seat and make them fall out 😮😅

It basically creates a physical barrier on the button that allows the ride to dispatch. This makes it impossible to start the ride until all locks are removed from the hasp by each person. At the park I work at (Legoland Cali) we call this "Ride Access Control" or "RAC Procedures". Legoland and Thorpe Park are both owned by Merlin Entertainments, so I would assume they call it the same thing. It is helpful when entering the ride envelope before the park opens, to be sure the ride doesn't start. As another safety measure, we check the RAC Board before dispatching to make sure all locks are present, meaning it is safe to operate.
*TL;DR: It locks button that allows a ride dispatch so the ride can't start while someone is in the ride envelope.*

They have every person who is going to enter the ride enclosure with individual keys, lock a padlock to the console to not only lock the ride out, but to show a physical head count of how many people are in the enclosure. If your missing a person - 1 padlock won’t come off.
