About Trailmakers:
In the toughest motoring expedition in the universe, you and your friends will build your own vehicles to cross a dangerous wasteland. Explore, crash horribly, use your wits to build a better rig, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find on your way.
Welcome to the Ultimate Expedition!
Journey over grueling mountains, hazardous swamps, and bone-dry deserts on a distant world far from civilization - it is just you, your fellow adventurers and the amazing, jet-powered hover-buggy you built yourself. Explore, crash your vehicle, build a better one, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find along your way.
Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

You could do a multiplayer game where everyone makes a aircraft and a anti air weapon. Then one team has to go against the other then vise versa. If the ground team destroys all the aircraft then they win, but if the aircraft destroy all the buildings they win.
that would be badass, hope he sees this
that would be badass, hope he sees this
good suggestion
that or boat vs planes
I’ve proposed the same idea, just 1 or 2 videos before the airborne update.
That eagle has so much freedom on it it's unbelievable
USA 🇺🇸 RAHHHHHH
🦅
Haha. Yeah... The name is kind of unfortunate though; I'm not sure if this was intentional, but the B-29 Superfortress was the plane that dropped nuclear warheads on Japan. And the bald eagle was named "The Warbird Superfortress".

You now have my wife obsessed with playing Trailmakers, as we drink from our suspension mug, I told her the story of said mug. Just wanted to send out the appreciation for your consistent entertaining content!
Congratulations
She’s a keeper 🎉
Definitely a keeper
I wish i had a suspension mug
@DavyzeraDasPalmera I got mine from Scarpman's merch store 😁
7:45 Yeah, I think that's just how submarines were built at the time. WW2 submarines actually had deck guns since torpedoes weren't reliable back then, so they would have to have a ship-like design so the guns would stay upright when firing (which could only be done while surfaced).
Yeah I came across a Uboat that was shaped like this one, on stormworks. Figured it was a particular reason
And the ship design helped go fast above water, since the couldent stay down under water for long periods of time because of air and battery power. But now modern nuclear subs are less ship shaped since going fast under water is better, because they can syltay under for longer. (Sorry if hard to read, my English is not best)
5:30 yaw is a part of a plane you cannot exclude, trust me, once you make more stable designs and get used to the yaw you can get an edge over other planes that don't have yaw
Ok
i know his problem. he needs a destabilizer in front of the rudder
I feel like what ScrapMan was experiencing is just what an uncoordinated turn feels like; it's easier to keep the ball in the middle if you roll into the turn and then pull up.
I fly model aircraft IRL. Yaw is only useful when coordinated with roll. Otherwise it gives you what is known as adverse yaw, and is just funky to fly with. So yes, yaw will make your turns faster and smoother, but only when used correctly.
@@tankaccount2990 isn't that problem entirely because the rudder is over the center of mass? in a model airplane which does not have to takeoff and land smoothly wouldn't it be possible to make one which the rudder does align with the center of mass? like an AIM-9
6:20 the transform feature now counts as a repair when performed midair.
Yea it sucks
@@oakcobra7814 Nah, it's good. Good for gameplay, though for sandboxing not so much.

Thanks for featuring my Dauntless at 4:11!
It is an honor to have my warbird on one of your videos, and thank you so much for landing it nicely :D
seeing how the new damage functions. i cant wait to see some Multiplayer mondays in trailmakers. revisiting old ideas like cargo plane vs fighters.. boat battles. etc. a lot of content to be had without needing complicated ideas
I'd really like to see a Multiplayer Mondays episode where you and your friends take turns manning the WarBird against everyone else in their own custom built fighter jets. The winner is whoever lasts the longest as the WarBird.
That'd be pretty awesome ngl
True
A lot of submarines looked like boats. The one that is docked by where I live, you can hardly even tell it is a submarine. It's called the USS Silverside
I mean, a bunch of the earlier submarines *were* just boats, that they'd retrofitted by slapping a waterproof cover on top of, then created a controlled way to partially fill with water so it'd sink.
The aesthetics of Bryan's & Dylan's builds are beyond amazing.
Thanks! :D
my build looks cool too
@@stavkous4963 Indeed it does. :) That thing 's complexity is kinda my cup of tea :) It both looks and performs amazing :)
@@stavkous4963that eagle is the personification of freedom
@@stavkous4963 that's just disrespectful lol
Yall should revisit that 3v3 tank maze battle thing, maybe you could do something different for the classes:
Scout: maybe access to mini thrusters and small cannons
Attack: Gatling gun and tank cannon (or both as gatling guns)
Heavy: Rocket launcher, (maybe 2 of them, LittleCornDogs and Kosmo didn't rlly get to do that much....)
or just make a lvl 2 of their last designs with any improvements they want
@@user-ll7ep6li9n essentially 3v3 tank evolution? Yeah that would be cool.
6:40 scrapman learns that flaring helps with landing 2023
Doing a boat vs airplane team battle on a multiplayer episode would be sick!
19:14 - Okay, now you gotta take this one out into the campaign for a flyby. Don't even stop flying, just pass by every enemy with all guns blazing.
I already did this via my channel
Just letting you know
@@stavkous4963
Neat, I'll check it out.
I found your channel a couple of days ago thanks to RCE's Trailmakers videos. I really want to see a dogfight (birdfight?) between two (or more!) of those absolutely insane eagles.
Mulitplayer Monday, but everyone has to build an aircraft to combat against the bird lol
I've had the same issue with yaw for a long time, and only just figured it out recently.
When you yaw, your vihicle's nose angle is not your true movement direction. The real angle your movement turns is smaller than how much your nose turns. Think of a drifting car, it's just like that. This is caused by tail fins, it's what they're meant for. So if you want that angle difference smaller, you need to install less tail fins.
A trick I found is that when you have a dragon engine installed, you can tell your real movement direction by looking at the smoke trail, instead of looking at your vehicle's nose angle.
And btw, after yawing your nose angle often turns back a little, that's also because of the tail fin. It's turning your nose back to line up with your movement angle.
I think this is how the tail fin works: whenever the drive force turns away form the current movement direction, it tries to negate the orthogonal drive force vector added to the movement direction, and at the same time, tries to turn the drive force back to the movement direction.
Since we have passenger seats now, people can make real functioning school busses. And, since it's a sky DLC, you know what that means! The magic school bus!!
6:38 looks like you did your first flared landing! Very nice.
Shame it's a tail dragger ;)
I like how he still doesn’t know that left ctrl is reverse for propellers
Physical damage and weapon damage got separated. Physical damage stayed the same, and weapons got the deterioration by damage effect and damage memory implemented.
The one thing I hope that the trailmakers devs will change with the new tail fins and pieces is that you would be able to program them to take two sets of controls, both for pitch and roll
The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. I think the way they did it is just making the aiming textures a one-sided texture - If you had them at an angle that isn't quite 180, you could probably see both at the same time.
You're just the best Trailmakers creator ever, these video just keep getting better, great job ScrapMan
7:47 I believe the design may have been from a german u-boat submarine which actually does look like a boat when it's above the waterline.
Yea it is a u-boat o built one in a diff game
It's a U-boat without its guns.
Day 63 of asking for more loot box challenges, Day 293 of asking for more workshop hunters, and day 294 of asking for more brick rigs
For all of you that wants any of these you can help too
One day man..... one day.
Love the video and seeing how, with every update people in this game just get crazier and crazier with their builds! Just hoped in here to say that on the last creation, those mini eagles it was dropping that sort of floated in the air and spun, I bet those are decoys that you drop to confuse pursuing aircraft's targeting systems! If that's the case, its a crazy good idea! Esp now that we have smart cannons!
Yesss! It's like flares basically if that is the case!
@@Adahy_Bullet my thoughts exactly! And it’s a pretty genius way of going about it! Not only distract the cannons but also ads an obstacle for the enemy pilot to dodge! Now I’m just thinking of a plane that could drop one of those but with explosives on it!!
your welcome
so proud to have one of the creations I helped make on one of your youtube videos. Its an honour. P.s For those wondering I was the co creator for the warbird
Day 17 of asking Scrapman to play Besiege (again)
Again? Like he has played it before or you are asking him again because I don't recall him ever playing besiege
@@FlyingNoodle554 he played it once so i just want that he plays it one more time...
That last Creation is so cool... ^_^ (Though I'd never stand a chance at ever being able to wield or pilot it any well...)
I can't agree with ya on there ever being any such thing as 'too many weapons' though. :P
Your welcome
The active front wing is for downforce than steering assist at higher speeds it lowers causing less drag car can accelerate more at low speeds it lowers down more down force better for cornering during turns it gives you more down force by angling down to assist you during steering
That's right! I should probably update the description to make it more clear 😂
cant wait to see You do the multiplayer , time to redo all the fun =)
You guys should do boss battles where you each make a big gun air ship and take turns fighting each others air ships with smaller aircraft
Now if that last creation isn’t a leak of classified military aircraft I don’t know what is
This submarine has boat aesthetics... Like a WW2 submarine perhaps?
The community is doing crazy things, and you should too!
Day 144 of asking for a Multiplayer Monday in survival mode where everyone starts at the crashed ship with a craftbot in the mechanic station. Everyone has 30 minutes to build a vehicle from scratch, gathering their own materials. No glitches, thrusters allowed, after which everyone meets up and races their builds
The maneuver at 9:57 was absolutely incredible
There are some very amazing looking planes
make a delorean where using a speed sensor , when it goes 88 miles per hour it either gets super fast or just bursts into flames and explodes
5:50 nah, yaw do be like that. The only surface that changes your speed in the left-right axis should be the tailfin, and it's not that large so that's not a lot of surface trying to put some force on ya. That's why you roll the whole plane and use the large wing surfaces for turning.
9:55
Are we really not going to talk about how he evaded a crash and not talk about it himself?
The submarine does look like a boat because that's how submarines used to look there's a reason why they were called U-boats by the Germans. Also really the only difference between a boat and a submarine is the ability to come backup.
7:47 WW2 submarines looked more like boats than modern subs. This is because they spent most of their time on or near the surface, being propelled by a diesel engine. Underwater they operated on battery power, which significantly limited their range.
that last one looks like a toy my brother had when he was a kid and he was born in the 80's it was a bird transforming kinda thing but looked exactly like that just without as many guns but its wings folded up the same and the turning head was definitely something too... it feet/ legs would fold up too ... i dont know what show it was from but definitely something from my brothers era cause it looks EXACTLY the same in real life and every moving part moves the same the head tilt is what confirmed it for me tho .. that was a omg moment lol
Saw the eagle and was immediately like *oh say, can you seee? By the dawns early light!*
With this new damage system, now is the time to do another demolition derby
"It's agile"
Said no-one about the A-10 ever
“This is how it looks on a lift”he says as he is playing Trailmakers 😂
this is a cool series keep it up man !
The creation of people because more cooler because of the new parts
That Eagle is the most American thing I have ever seen on trailmakers.
yaw works if you have one tailfin on the top and one on the bottom as opposed to only the top
You can now make flares to avoid getting hit mid air
"I'm trying to compliment you, stop making me look bad."
LMAO
definitely the bird, because an absolutely rediculous amount of firepower and the bald eagle memes are 2 things america is known for...
When Us Murican's Say Don't Kill Our Eagles, Now you know why...
found a cool glitch, you can put the mini gun and smart cannon behind each other and seats and they'll shoot through a few blocks, this is cool for astetics when you can put the gun on the tip without having to remove the front (please don't patch this flashbulb)
Also I discovered if you put the delay, duration, and cooldown to 0.01, you can fire the machine gun *infinitely*
when all Americans unite to make the ultimate weapon
Ooo New multiplayer Monday idea: boat vs planes cuz why not. Boats can have mega amounts of AA and planes and drop bombs or rockets
The dev should do something with the creation spawn as a target, with this new update i'm sure a lot of people gonna do that instead of shooting a blank terrain
In sandbox mode they should make the ability to spawn enemies like in the campaign.
in other words, an "autopilot?"
@@stavkous4963 maybe a specific fighting sandbox or fighting mode would be good.
@@conorstewart2214 you could also call it "Arena mode" or "battle mode"
@@stavkous4963 that'll be interesting but i think it's "too much" in this game, what i mean is it's such a pain the the butt to spawn a creation as a target and when you wanna start you can't just respawn somewhere far because it'll delete the "target creation".
The music played on the Gramophone is from another game by Flashbulb called Rubber Bandits
6:45 Scrapman casually landing a tail sitter back wheel first.
omg the music is from Rubber Bandits, the other Flashbulb Games game, this guys are god

just start trailmaking, as an expert, do you have any suggestion of making the best jet/plane?
love your vids always
Here's an idea for multiplayer monday: Bomber plane vs AA turrets.
The plane can only use bombs to destroy the turrets and each player score according how long they take to destroy the turrets or how long they last before being shot down + how many turrets the destroyed before that happens. Players who destroy more turrets will be ranked higher than those who destroy fewer, obviously.
The landing you preformed with the sbd3 dauntless was a standard Carrier landing.
7:50. Ww2 subs were more built like boats than what you think as a submarine. The diving thing was typically used sparingly since these were slow af underwater
hence the name "U/-Boot/Unterseeboot" or U-Boat/Underwater boat in german
I would love for a multiplier monday where you all get a couple days to practice with that bird, then take turns using to defense yourselves against simpler planes. Naturally you earn points for how many planes you can destroy while piloting it. I think it could be real fun, particularly if the two/three small planes are limited to 2 smart turrets instead of anything beefy.
Scrap man you should try making some sort of “countermeasure” for plane where you use the detachable block to detach blocks(of course) that would then get the attention of the auto lock of missiles or other weapons. (Idk if this would work)
This is the best thing to wake up to in the morning
That last creation might be the most american thing ever created
Scrapman using gun recoil to slow down gave me War Thunder PTSD.
WW2 Submarines were built like boats because they weren't submerged for long periods of time and they travelled great distances above water.
They had to do this to run the diesel generators as the batteries didn't last long enough. 7:40
congratulations scarp man on 800k subscribers!! much love.
I don’t have any friends who play trailmakers so I usually make planes and boats that go in circles and shoot in random directions for me to play with
The last one was just America in a nutshell
The music in that whack ‘‘em all thing is from another game by flashbulb called rubber bandits :)
That eagle is the American culture in a creation
Hi scrapman how are ya?
last one is clearly delivering FREEDOM to all, looks so much like bald eagle XD
Damn, I just missed this. Uploaded my Airborne Fighter on the workshop. Its had some tweaks so its at V3.
I would love to see you try the 2 planes vs a cargo plane with gunner(s) again, now that the update has changed things. I feel it likely will be balanced with only the small guns or only the cargo plane has the mini gun but I still think it will be interesting to see, even if the chase planes fall out of the sky a lot.
Then there's also the new flaps that can be set up for slowing with control or parallels for air brakes.
I think it could be very interesting, well I hope you all are able to try some more dog fighting events in the near future.
I think you guys should do a bombers versus boats video. I think it would be cool.
Bruh the last one is by FAR the best
you keep the creations by just walking away and pressing b on an empty area, only teleport when you are in a new creation
I really hope trailmakers is adding 1by 1by 1by blocks nice vid scrap man
same
pipe
I think it may be the most completed, complexed and the one with the most buttons to press of all creations you tried. Not sure but I think.
The flight is still riddled with problems. When you try to turn only a small amount it bobs. It also drifts for no reason... even on the ground. Building a hover craft is near impossible. Helicopters do some weird things. Even with counter rotation it still goes all over the place. Using the gyro propulsion blocks still does weird things and gets twitchy for no reason. When doing blimps and gyros if you get above 100 it just starts turning despite a perfectly symmetrical vehicle and low drag and gets harder to fight until it just spins around. They need gyro stabilization to reduce rocking and such and to fix some of the control bugs. I built a small flying using those gyro thrusters and when flying it would just twitch and jump around all the time for no reason, sometimes flipping upside down.
The other thing I am confused about is I see a few parts in sandbox mode that I could not find in campaign mode and I have looked everywhere. One is the vertical spring and the other is the large get engine (looks like the engines below an airliner's wings like the Boeing 747 has).
"does this look like a boat?" Yes, but so did all ww1 and 2 submarines. they were submersible boats and actually, the U-boats stand for UnterseeBoots, the German for underwater boats.
That locking onto creations will be especially good for me bc i have no friends
That bird is the definition of America
That last one is America in a nutshell.
Scrapman out of context:
That looks so good back there*
Can you try the first-person view of every creation you see/review, please
To any of you that dont know what "yaw" is its a type of roll like "pitch"
