- I watched the 1999 film, The Out Of Towners, starring Steve Martin, Goldie Hawn, John Cleese, Cynthia Nixon, Mark McKinney, Oliver Hudson, and many others. Firstly, I did not know that there was a 1970s version of this film, starring my dear Jack Lemmon, otherwise, I would have reacted to that one. However, my lovely Goldie Hawn is in this one, so no regrets! This film was funny, although I am having a hard time finding Steve Martin funny, as he always seems to play the same character in every film!

The original movie was released in 1970 starring Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis.
If You like Goldie Hawn I suggest "HouseSitter" (1992, also with Steve Martin) and "Bird on a Wire" (1990, with Mel Gibson)!
I'd say "Overbosrd" & "Foul Play".
I've reacted to Housesitter but not Bird on a Wire, I'll write that one down :D
What about some 80s Action Movies like "The Terminator", "RoboCop", "Lethal Weapon" ....?
They are on the list, I'm thinking of starting to divide the days, with each having a theme.
If you think Steve Martin was annoying in this, watch the original Out-of-Towners from 1970. Jack Lemmon plays a husband you'll be rooting for his wife not to divorce him, but shoot him. But if you can get past wanting to throttle him, then the movie is hilarious.

One good film with Goldie Hawn you should look at is the original "Overboard" (1987). Starring with her in this film was her partner Kurt Ruseell. I think you'll definitely get a kick out of it.

@@katreacts6843 If you do get to it, hopefully it will be the original. They did a remake in 2018, and it wasn't as good.
This is one of my favorite movies. Hilarious and heartwarming.
They are all not going to be gems. Not terrible terrible, but more disappointing.
Fun Fact: John Cleese's character, hotel manager Mr. Mersault, is similar to Cleese's Basil Fawlty which he played in the TV comedy series Fawlty Towers (1975).

I agree, had I known about it before I recorded this video, I most certainly would have, I love Jack Lemmon!
If you are a Goldie Hawn fan you should check out one of her early films Cactus Flower 1969 with Walter Matthau and Ingrid Bergman.

Oh, no! This is the remake. The original with Jack Lemmon is the genuine article. This one isn't bona fide.

You might like Goldie Hawn in Overboard.
"It's Complicated" is a very nice film in which Steve Martin plays an unexpectedly sweet guy. Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin are the main characters. :)

1994 movie A Simple Twist Of Fate This is a film, Steve Martin won't annoy you. My 1980s film pick would be 1988... Torch Song Trilogy. with Anne Bancroft, Matthew Broderick, Harvey Fierstein.
This is a remake. The original was better. Saw it with my dad when I was a kid. It starred a guy named Lemon. The remake is OK, but not as good.
