  • Mya is available for adoption through SMART - Siberian Malamute Alaskan Rescue Team INC (smartrescue.ca) and will come with free training.
Mya is a 3 y.o spade husky, who I started fostering Jan 7th. I’ve just started introducing some basic vocabulary. Mya LOVES affection (gives the best hugs), playing tug of war and food 🙂. She is crate trained -very good in the crate when left alone and good at relaxing outside of the crate once she’s gotten some belly rubs. She will have an obedience foundation prior to adoption.
Mya needs slow introductions to other dogs (is uncomfortable with dogs going in her space) and would need careful management (use of crate, muzzle) if placed in a home with another dog. She is slowly getting comfortable with Spotty and Ivan. Mya will resource guard food and toys (from humans and dogs), which can be managed and will continue to be worked on prior to adoption (already seeing improvement with her trusting me). A home without young children is recommended. Mya does not do well on any kibble and is currently on a raw food diet + cooked meat for treats. Mya will need to be professionally groomed every 2 months. She is a long coated husky (like Spotty) but had to be shaved due to a skin infection.
She will come with free in person training sessions within 1h of Montreal and free online training if further.
