    I made the same mistakes you talked about in this video...I lost confidence because I thought I just wasn’t good at driving but watching you made me realize it’s part of the learning process. knowing that has given much more confidence and I’m more motivated to learn the correct way to make left turns 🤗

    You've just described one of my main issues while driving. One of my instructors (got two) actually pointed this out on several occasions (centering and cornering) but even though he noticed it he was unable to give me some proper tips. I drive on the right side (so I'm on the left side in the vehicle) and I'm a bit skeptical of right leg being in the center of the road, but I'm gonna try this out during my next lesson. I've done 10 out of 15 sessions and recently it feels to me like I'm supposed to learn how to drive by myself and the instructor is just there to stop me from causing an accident and point out stuff I'm doing badly. I'm really glad I came across your channel because you actually give tips and how to fix driving mistakes and you don't just point them out. Keep up the amazing work!

    I tried this technique and although I didn't get to grips with it on the turning aspect at the time, it certainly helped on the straight. I forever veer to the left and my instructor has to push the wheel away from the kerb or parked cars, which was getting to me somewhat. I applied your technique and she didn't have to touch the steering wheel once. The best thing about this tip is that it takes the job away your eyes in a sense, as it's more of a "feel" approach. Thanks.

    • @ConquerDriving
      @ConquerDriving  Před 4 lety +15

      You're welcome, it's much harder to get it to work on then bend. I normally need to give loads of help and encouragement to get it to work. It's all about aiming at the right spot, not steering to early, not being afraid of the curb and adding enough steer for your left leg to go on the middle of your new lane after the bend.

    As an American, I can say you are a better instructor and explainer, than MOST driving teachers out here. I tried to drive a car a few years ago, and struggled with this, til the point I gave up. Now I'm back at it for the second time and I really enjoyed you explaining this. Cheers! 👍🏼👍🏼

    I’m currently learning driving and this page has helped me a lot.
    I am in a country driving by the left side and My brother always complains I leave much space by the right.
    Also he complained I go over to the wrong side (another lane ) while making turns .
    I have practiced more often and this video has helped me too. Thanks so much

    My instructor got mad at me while turning right on my third lesson as I stopped for the cars behind me. I think it's better to watch his videos first before going for lessons. I will ask my instructor what our next lesson would be ahead of time so I can watch your videos.

    Great explanation! easier to move the car towards the reference point than doing calculation and then moving.

    When you mentioned gravitational lensing, I knew then you are a nerd. Anyway, yeah, I still struggle with right turns (we drive right in our country). My sister and I have been practicing for 2 weeks now since we finished the practical driving course. The number of things I have to think about when driving (in our case a manual transmission car) is sometimes overwhelming and scary.

    I'm about to take my licensing exam tomorrow. Your videos helped me a lot, even better than what my driving school instructor told me over the whole session. Would love to see you drive on busier roads though like in Vietnam, Philippines or India.

  • @PersonalAccountIndeed

    Just came back from my fourth lesson and watched this. It makes so much sense now why I was apparently taking the corners too wide - I'd been staring at that curb point on the left the whole time! I just know my instructor wants me to "look at the curb and stick to it" but I'm going to mentally think of it the way explained in this video. It's like an optical illusion almost with feeling you're much closer to the curb than you are. Anyways, thank you - these videos are GOAT

    In my city in NA there are a lot of junctions with two left turning lanes (equivalent to right turns in the UK) that will have a dotted line to help guide parallel traffic into their respective lanes after the turn. It is the best place to demonstrate how bad many people are at judging their trajectory through a turn, as I often see drivers cross over the line and honk at eachother in these sorts of features.

  • @NOTFOUND-dq4ho
    @NOTFOUND-dq4ho Před rokem +1

    Thanks for mentioning that first, get the turn position sorted, then worry about the coming car. It’s so simple but I just couldn’t figure the sequence out by myself. Whenever I have to take a left turn, I feel very overwhelmed by the from the right coming car.
