Also, (and this may be totally unrelated,) my son was JUST diagnosed with ADHD. I noticed some of the same "quirkiness" (for lack of a better word,) in this little girl that my son also portrays. Although most little kids can barely sit still without squirming,. at dinner, my son can't sit still for more than a bite at a time. I mean, he takes a bite and takes off, literally running in circles or trying to climb on the table. He also would (and still does) develop short lived facial tics that would get consistent and then die down and disappear. So many other factors were (and still are) a part of my son that were worrisome, to say the least, and, thankfully, after the diagnosis from our pediatrician, we are able to have access to the state and town's offered services that I'm still learning about but will absolutely use. All I can feel is relief at this point. Now, I'm not saying that the little girl in this clip is ADHD at all, but I AM saying that you aren't her parent. You do not know anything about her and for you to call her "RUDE" is absolutely callous of you as well as judgemental, ignorant and insensitive. You don't know her, or her family or how she's being brought up behind closed doors. You're supposedly an adult, yet to make such a direct comment the way you did was just ignorant. It was also RUDE.
From a psychologist's point of view, it's actually so sad to see the reason she's behaving like that is that she's TERRIFIED of being on camera, and she doesn't really know what to do with her face. Also, she's completely disconnected from what's going on around her, so that probably means she DOESN'T LIKE what her mother makes her do. Most kids, when asked "what do you like?" will answer with something like "I like to play", "I like to be my sister", etc. They won't give you deep answers, but they won't say "I don't know". This kid doesn't truly know who she is, because her mother is obviously extremely dominant.

I was gonna come down here and comment and you literally said exactly what I saw. It's really sad to see this little girls childhood being robbed from her controlling and Dominate mother. She's got this little girl inside of her who has never been free nor does she even have a clue that this isn't how little girls live. I feel very sad for her. booboo googoo Of course being taught narcissism isn't "normal!" YOU brought up narcissism, I just made a connection between this kid and my own little boy. Also, (and this may be totally unrelated,) my son was JUST diagnosed with ADHD. I noticed some of the same "quirkiness" (for lack of a better word,) in this little girl that my son also portrays. Although most little kids can barely sit still without squirming,. at dinner, my son can't sit still for more than a bite at a time. I mean, he takes a bite and takes off, literally running in circles or trying to climb on the table. He also would (and still does) develop short lived facial tics that would get consistent and then die down and disappear. So many other factors were (and still are) a part of my son that were worrisome, to say the least, and, thankfully, after the diagnosis from our pediatrician, we are able to have access to the state and town's offered services that I'm still learning about but will absolutely use. All I can feel is relief at this point.
Now, I'm not saying that the little girl in this clip is ADHD at all, but I AM saying that you aren't her parent. You do not know anything about her and for you to call her "RUDE" is absolutely callous of you as well as judgemental, ignorant and insensitive. You don't know her, or her family or how she's being brought up behind closed doors. You're supposedly an adult, yet to make such a direct comment the way you did was just ignorant. It was also RUDE.

From a psychologist's point of view, it's actually so sad to see the reason she's behaving like that is that she's TERRIFIED of being on camera, and she doesn't really know what to do with her face. Also, she's completely disconnected from what's going on around her, so that probably means she DOESN'T LIKE what her mother makes her do. Most kids, when asked "what do you like?" will answer with something like "I like to play", "I like to be my sister", etc. They won't give you deep answers, but they won't say "I don't know". This kid doesn't truly know who she is, because her mother is obviously extremely dominant.
Or she's doing what every single one of us do in the mirror when we are alone because she probably can see herself on a screen and she's not really being included in the conversation so she's bored

I was gonna come down here and comment and you literally said exactly what I saw. It's really sad to see this little girls childhood being robbed from her controlling and Dominate mother. She's got this little girl inside of her who has never been free nor does she even have a clue that this isn't how little girls live. I feel very sad for her. I could tell the mother was getting very irritated with her behavior and the man interviewing was concerned for her. It really blows my mind how oblivious people are to this sad truth. It's not just cute. It's not psychotic. The mom isn't sweet. The interviewer is rude. They weren't politely disagreeing (they're on TV). Her daughter is going to feel empty and without a voice or anything like that or worse. My mother never let me have a voice or do anything fun myself and I know how that left me. Luckily, I was able to get away when I was 14 so I had time to process and have some deeper insight about everything. And this isn't much different. Even more extreme. Just sad. Pinkie Pie, I like how she made faces, it shows she was acting like a normal little kid. But I do believe she is being forced for profit and forced to do a number of things. I'd like to see these pageant children when they're adults and see how there life went after this.

That kid creeps me out because those are not the mannerisms of a child who has been on stages for several years. There's something very wrong there, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that she's been institutionalized at some point.

She's a CHILD. I think every single child who were put in that position, on tv and seeing themselves on a screen, would react in a similar way. Just a kid being a kid, not a damn thing wrong with that. Just because she does pageants doesn't mean that she behaves as if she's always at one.
I agree if she has been on stage for several years/ times then this can't be her first time in front of a camera so she should know better than to make silly faces. Something is wrong there there many kids out there who participate in movies & pageants these kids should know how to act in front of a camera when it's time to silly and when not to.

I know kids who love pageants and have their college paid for through pageants. Kalia is still doing pageants and she loves them. This is no different than doing cheer, sports or anything else.

She's just acting like a normal kid.. this just shows the parents aren't forcing her to act a certain way out of her will. She likes being in the pageant.. she said so.. but they keep questioning her and making her doubt herself, making her feel like she has to dislike pageants. As long as parents don't intend to make their child look sexually attractive then it's alright, there's a difference between dressing a child up and selling them as prostitutes, 'beauty' isn't sexual attractiveness, are you sexually attracted to a beautiful rose? No. This is basically just a costume competition. Its not the pageant it's the parents.
Shes clearly just camera shy.. so shes become nervous/goofy. If she acts goofy she feels like the situations less serious.. and therefore isn't scared. Like laughing when you're embarrassed.
