This tune sounds so good because it's closer to a Rocksteady beat than it is to reggae. To my ears rocksteady was the wickedest sound to come from the Caribbean.
Well this is the cross over point from rocksteady to reggae, I would still class it as reggae though but you wouldn't be wrong to class as rocksteady though.

I had to call and ask Keith (Coley), who is the lead singer of the The Silvertones, because I myself wasn't sure of the answer. so straight from the "horse's" mouth, the answer is, NO; but they were known also as "The Valentines", when they just started out...so says Mr. Coley
