Loved to see that Russians shouted without the accent as in 99% of western movies and they screamed the most typical words we really scream in such circumstances
I love how the sniper doesn’t kill someone every 5 seconds
As others have commented, this is far better than mainstream action sequences. The attention to detail, and not just in the uniforms, is astounding. This from an obsessive Eastern Front history buff who breathes WW2 and is surrounded by over 3,000 military books, and who felt that he was actually on the line with SS Panzer Division Wiking and on the attack.
the scene where the platoon leader gives point taking orders, slowly, to be sure everyone understands is outstanding. in big budget productions one often sees all rushing shit and no communication between the platoon members at all
keep the good work lads.
As a US infantryman I love the attention to detail, the uniforms, weapons, command structure, and tactics are all wonderfully displayed. Very well done! My great uncle fought against the Germans and said they were fierce warriors. My grandfather said the Japanese were very brutal.
Про русских говорил чего или не встретил?
@@user-bo8iy1zj7i he certainly said that they were undisciplined and clumsy, fought to the death for fear of Stalin and not for Bolshevik ideology
@@SanctaeGermaniae Russian soldiers from fear killed the German army and in panic ran to Berlin!
My Grandfather fought in both world wars. He talked about how tough the German soldiers were/are. He always said the same about my Grandmother who he brought home after WW1.He said it was still up for grabs until the end of March in WW2. The sticking point was was the cost going to be worth it crossing the Rhine river into Germany itself, or let the Ruskie's finish them off in the east and have them beg us to come in through the west.
@@nightrider1850 wow
Outstanding cinematography. The ringing ears amplifies the thought I've always had of how awful it had to have been not only to be in war, but be in a war without ear protection. Especially machine gunners. I'm sure most who lived went deaf or had heading problems the rest of their lives. Great job, again.
Ветеран рассказывал как бежал из сектора пулемётного огня а рядом люди падали как листья осенью
I always wore ear plugs. They save your hearing and allow you to hear what's being said
The MG42 was very, very loud, I’m sure.
This short film has real feeling of realism that is better than anything from Hollywood. Wonderful worki!
3 Russians VS SS Wiking. ;)
in a real battle, the sides are fighting at a larger distance
@@vasskolomiets41 wow, you were there in WW2?
@@MultiFallguy I just know the weapons' parameters
Hollywood is largely run by communists and pedos.
Nice to see short burst firing, not the usual 1,000 round magazines seen in most movies. Also really enjoyed seeing proper military maneuvering and tactics.
czcams.com/video/cNyUxl0MXWQ/video.html ; War reenactment of the DIA-D in Santander beach plus videos of Parachute Warfare Day and Landing
Very good re-enactment. Historically accurate weaponry and uniforms adds deep immersion for the viewer.

The Germans often used ppsh sun machine guns, they were a prized possession
@@bougeac Thats very true, I think they favored them over their own MP40's
@@TheGeezzer larger cartridge, more capacity, faster rate of fire
@@archosarchos9876 the Germans used the shit out of PPsH41s, a few hundred even sent back to German and being rechambered in 9x19 and modified to accept MP40 mags
My brother and I used to comb a lot of territory like that when we were kids in the early '60's when my father was assigned to Oberammergau. We used to find bullet casings and once even a German helmet! Beautiful country Germany is. The people were very nice and appreciated when we tried to speak their language.
Finally a short film that uses blanks instead of digitally adding it.
Hi
Who are you
Who are you are you are really nasty are you re-enactor
It’s a compliment. Most other short films use poor digital effects. This video used blanks.
ColonelHoganFilm if you can pull off digital effects, they look great. For instance in my country, New Zealand, It’s very difficult to purchase any type of replica weapon, little alone a blank firing one. So I have to resort to digitally adding them, which I am now quite good at!
Excellent work! I wish I had people near me willing to put on a show 1/10th as great as you guys did. Amazing
When a 23 minute film is better then Hollywood. Nice job!
Give them more money and better special effects, the result would be more impressive.
@@71Gilligan Yeah definitely.
Nice to have Germans who are actually native speakers and not some American amateur actors torturing the language. That's one element that made Band of Brothers and Private Ryan so good and so different. And believable.
Even cooler (for me, personally), is the leader's Bavarian accent (the way he rolls the "r"s when he says "Gruppe," for example).
My only criticism: everyone's a little too calm. I know they're SS, but they're still human.
And that is how you fight in a movie, done very well and fought the German way

You mean the losing way.

Perfect project. Great effects and very good details and plot. Good luck in your future actions! ;D
Thanks a lot!
I like this film, mostly because you used real guns
Exceptional production. Realistic, gritty action with exceptional acting by all involved. I look forward to seeing more of this fine work.
Man that was awesome. I love how the Russians helped carry back the wounded. Something Hollywood and western media never shows. They make us believe the Russians were every man for himself in a human wave of cannon fodder. It was very real and humanizing for both sides. Loved it. And having served in the US military, your attention to weapons, uniforms, and tactics was awesome as well. So very well done. Great job guys
Это разрыв шаблона
According to my Grandmother's younger brother who fought on the Russian front in the German Army during WW2. The Red Army did not stop for the wounded. Their political officers wouldn't allow it. Medical people followed up afterwards and picked up any survivors. They would pull dead and wounded tank crew out to put the tank back into action as quickly as possible not because of the crew. Not a rapp on the Red Army, that's just the way it was back then.
Good work that shames many short films, very gritty too, well done.
let alone short films, it puts high budget productions to shame
The SS Wiking was the main unit that fought in the Korsun-Jukassy pocket and led the "Breakout through Hell's Gate." They fought a heroic rearguard action, allowing thousands of German Soldiers to escape the encirclement. One notable Soldier, Leon Degrelle served in SS Viking. He was the only politician to become a soldier and go fight on the front lines. He became one hell of a good soldier, who led his unit, in holding off a numerically superior enemy, that was probably at least 5 times it's own strength.
The guy with the curtain on his helmet looks like darth-vader.
But a good movie you made, more of this, please.
Excellent. Incredible camouflage uniforms very realistic
I agree.but according to my father and uncles who were all France and Germany during the war ,most German soldiers were lucky to have ammo and food.
@@nicholaspoplawski601 These were SS so they may have pulled rank to get what they needed (at the expense of other soldiers). Notice the gunsmith's attitude was like whatever, you guys are gonna take what you want anyway

Wow this literally blew my socks off, this was next level realism , I am an ex British infantry man I believe there most definitely was some real life soldiers amoung these actors I could tell by the little things like how the German sniper held his rifle whilst firing next to the tree ect , absolute first class 👌👍well done guys amazing work . The only slight criticism is that we never got to hear the MG-42 roaring 😪🤣, ( my favourite MG of all time )
At about 13:20 a soldier runs up and reports the MG is destroyed. Having that in action might have tipped the battle. Would have been nice to hear.
Best sound engineering in a film of small unit action I've ever heard. I've had bullets whiz by and that's exactly how it sounds. Very, very well done.
But no bullets hitting ground or cover.
Very good. Well done overall, weapons, uniforms etc just about perfect.
You keep on making short movies like this, and one day you will end up on the big screen. Good stuff.
That was absolutely EXCELLENT!! Great job y'all I'd watch these all day!!
Bloody hell that was thrilling to watch...great work!
These clips from WWII are even better quality than some modern films.
I LOVE these movies - I have to believe in a real combat environment, everybody wouldn't be so bunched up. That alone puts me on the edge of my seat.
9:40 - Look at the first 2 soldiers in this scene: That german spring/summer camoflauge was amazingly well designed. The second 2 soldiers are wearing fall camoflauge and they stick out like sore thumb.
Well I'm not an expert, but this battle scene seemed very logical to me. Supressiive fire while troop advances, smokes to make visual cover, commander actually giving orders. You don't often see those things.
Nice job!
The BEST short movie I have seen in my Life. My hat off to you all !!!!
I'm always amazed at the technical excellence and accuracy of these low budget productions, they put the garbage churned out by Hollywood to utter shame...

very realistic combat scenes. loved watching the German fire the STG 44
Amazing! Keep up the good work!
As a reenactor I can gladly say-this is VERY WELL done!! Great job guys! I love it!
Only thing this was missing was a story line and missing a personal feeling we didn't know who the soldiers were and didn't feel that much when they died because they felt like they were strangers so a characters building giving a personal touch giving them a back ground { family, live back home personality ect}. You have authentic military ww2 equipment and as a ww2 reenactment it's great to see but without the story it just felt like I was watching a reenactment I've been reenacting for 10 years so I don't need to watch on TV.
I feel nothing when a socialist dies....whether National or International....lmFao (F for free)....btw pretty decent film.
Short re-enactment do not require background characterization ....that is the whole point.......get it ?
@@charlesmartel8112
It's a short film and it has all of the phases where a good narrative can be written, the actors already show they can act well and can improve by being given more meaningful dialogue and history.
They already did add some short characterization at the start of the film, they could've added more.
I completely agree with JK on this. Without a story or characters, it is sort of like watching a video game.
THEY were absolutely THE BEST, and the allied veterans said so TOO!!!
You are all "the best" with Russian urine on proud faces ...
Absolutly amazing!❤
I really love the use of the camouflages that the real Waffen SS would utilize. The scenes where the lieutenant was giving the squad orders while in the forest felt extremely immersive. I especially enjoyed the mixed of camos considering most soldiers had to make do with what they could so the erbsenmuster plus the smocks were a delightful touch. Well done fellas! Fantastic work! Great to see the war from the German perspective, not often shown in movies.
Ofcourse its not, they are meant to be shown like monsters who they werent, they were fighting communism which is now killing us slowly and we arent even aware of ot.
@@sd5241 how about the ones fighting the UK, US and the earlier French, Dutch etc
Like others, **really impressed** with this. Some of face cam was way too dark but that's just a pet peeve (after doing the same thing and being told as such on my first army exercise back in 1986). Subbed so I can catch part 2.

One of the best ww2 short films! Sound of the weapons is absolutely phenomenal!! I don't recall hearing the MG42? I'm sure it would have been outstanding
At around 13:27 they say that the machine gunner is down which is the reason we don't hear it I guess
@@benco41 i knew the German will lose since hearing the MG42 is broken

Dobré dílo, realistické, škoda jen, že kromě velitele nikdo z účinkujících neumí německy. Vlastně tam mluví pouze on. To mi připadá málo, zejména pokud dnes mluví německy každý taxikář. Mužstvo je němé.
Německy jich umí víc, ale asi neumí spravě imitovat přízvuk, takže asi kvůli toho vynechali delší dialogy u ostatních.

Fantastic job. Only complaint is why do all of the shorts that are made about German troops always end in tragedy? I’d like to see a short where the Germans succeed and after the fight celebrate with some captured smokes or rations... like Stalingrad(1993) after they stopped that Soviet tank assault. The Captain passed his list cigar around to reward his men. Not a glorification of war, but men just happy they survived another engagement.
