One of the top culinary specialities in Rome are the “carciofi alla giudia” (literally: “Jewish artichokes”): they’re deep fried and eaten leaf by leaf like chips

Thanks for posting. Making me think of doing your Southern Italy in 13 Days tour, which starts out with a walking tour of this area.

Mythical Boccione ricotta and visciole cheescake! N.1! The girl said Jewish pizza, but that is just a big krantz with raisins and crystallized fruit.

Over twenty years ago a tour guide took us to this Getto. It was in December . It was getting dark. It was around Hanukkah There was a large menorah in the Center of the small plaza. The building were so dilapidated. And suddenly I saw other little menorahs in the windows all around us. People were still living in these squalid conditions. As if for 2000 years the time stood still

I have a very interesting Family tree. My Dad did the DNA testing which was 49% Italian! I'm 60 years old and I just found this out! My Dad was born in 1934 in Manila Philippines, his Dad ( My Papu) was born in Istanbul Turkey, his wife was born in Barcelona Spain (My Nanny/Grandmother). I'm trying to figure out which side of the Family came from Italy? This video is soooooo awesome, Chocholate Cheese Cake is my favorite I love Coconut Macaroons too! Thank you for making this video!
