Denny the Budgie, what are you doing at this channel? Your videos are very useful and my budgie,Mint, now knows how to step up and handshake. This is one of my ideas to make a vid on "Reply to kisses".Whenever I do that Mint replies to it by vigorously shaking her head for a second.
Thanks to your wonderful video, my parrotlet is spinning around her perch ... what fun for her and me! It only took two sessions, as you said. It is truly amazing how smart these little birds are. I wished my kids would have learned so fast! I guess I should have tried using a clicker as an educational aid.
I taught my bird how to shake hands with me from your play dead training video !! My bird isn’t comfortable going on his back so I just had him give me his hand and now he shakes hands with me all the time !!
any Star notice at the end she says shake instead of set up as a verbal cue. So maybe use step up only for up step up and say shake for this trick so the bird can differenciate both
this is a great trick i luv it but question, how is she ganna regularly step up and i mean by how is she ganna know when u mean step up on ur hand like when u carry her?
What if your bird steps up too fast? 😅 my lil fella either climbs on faster than I can pull my hand away or hops onto my hand, even if my hand is very close! I’m considering trying something he’s a little more hesitant to step up onto…
Hi, i'm soon getting a very young parrotlet and I was wondering how old they have to be before you can teach them simple tricks? The one i'm getting a around 2-3 months and she is semi tamed.
can you do like a whole video where you show all your tricks like a show or something. I just found your chanel and all ready love it I am planning on getting a bird and I am so exited. but I am really not sure weather to get 1 or 2 birds I want to get a bond with 1 but I am at school all day a am really not sure if you could help thankyou so much for making theses videos
My bird never really steps up, he hops up (as in: he jumps, both feet at the same time). Does anyone have any ideas that might help me? Edit: figured it out already: saying foot instead of step up made him a bit more hesitant, causing him to go one foot at a time.
David Lim The use of the commands “step up” and “wave” should prevent this. Birds are quite smart. They should know the difference between the behaviors expected from the different commands.
Skitfull Plays you should get a bowl and put a bunch of different seeds and whatever seed she eats the most is what you should feed it, do not include their favourite seed in their normal diet though, or they will not find it worthwhile to work for it
Budgie Life Care you should say step up while your touching it’s feet, do it everytime you want it to step up, say step up while it’s stepping up, do it until the budgie gets used to it, and slowly faze out the action so then when you say step up, it will step up
Animals and stuff 101 after they get used to your shake, like letting you move their leg, just say shake or the trick name i believe your bird can identify step up and wave
Serena star I would recommend for you to put a bunch of different seeds in a bowl and the ones your lovebird eats is what you should feed them, be sure not to feed that seed in their normal food or they will get lazy and go to their food dish to eat the treats instead of working for it, hope this helped
0:27 Mia waved to the camera!!
Yes i know she's scratching her head but if u look it looks like she's waving!
Thats Zeebee
SEASAME SEED SEASAME no, zeebee is the one getting trained
You deserve WAAAY more subs!! You are the best bird trainer ive seen my gosh!! Keep it up and i love your vids

IKR
What a clever little birdy~
It only took my bird to do it in 10 minutes! Thank you soooooo much! My bird can now SHAKE my HAND!
Better is to use pen as clicker..like me! It's not loud for birds...clicker is just for bigger pets!
Omg you're so smart! Thanks
There are also soft clickers that are very suitable for birds. It does not really matter what you use, as long as the sound is consistent

So super adorable! :) I don't have any birds, just dogs, but still love watching these videos :)
my bird jumps on my finger so I don't know if I can teach this trick
but then that make my parrot stop doing step up
any Star notice at the end she says shake instead of set up as a verbal cue. So maybe use step up only for up step up and say shake for this trick so the bird can differenciate both
Instead of treats I made him feel like he's king of the world for a sec he love it
Awesome videos! We are starting to do more training with our parakeet.

Do you think you can do a video on how to train your bird to not fly away? I have budgies and if i let them i out i am scared they will fly away
this is a great trick i luv it but question, how is she ganna regularly step up and i mean by how is she ganna know when u mean step up on ur hand like when u carry her?

Do you think I could use a rabbit cage as a bird cage?
your birds are so cute!
Will this mess them up when you want them to step up later?
What we can give them as a treat? Plz tell me
What treats are you using? Also what kind of bird is that? She's gorgeous ❤

Do you leave the bird to become hungry before training ?
What treats do you give your bird?
Very nice! What kind of reward do you give?

What if they un-learn step up and only shake? I haven't taught it yet, but will that happen?
David Lim The use of the commands “step up” and “wave” should prevent this. Birds are quite smart. They should know the difference between the behaviors expected from the different commands.
I dont have a bird, i love parrotlets, but i want a cockatiel cause they are cuddley
Is the clicker helpfull?
What do you use for treats?
Danielle McAdams I think she use sun flower seeds
She uses millet spray
Millet spray
my budgie likes cheese lmao
Which bird is this
My parakeet does not like millet, and I've gotten alot of treats but they just don't eat them. What should I do?
Skitfull Plays you should get a bowl and put a bunch of different seeds and whatever seed she eats the most is what you should feed it, do not include their favourite seed in their normal diet though, or they will not find it worthwhile to work for it
I'm also curious as to what it is your giving your bird as the reward treat? sorry... I'm sure u get asked all the time!
Niamh Murphy millet and sunflower seeds
My pet budgie can shake hands but it’s weird cause I didn’t train him but he still shakes my hand

Hi guys
May I ask what kind of parrot is this?
What kind of bird is this?
Is this budgie or other??
I have one question, are femal birds easer to train than male birds
Johnsons Class honestly they are not easier or harder depends on your bond
Can youh post please
i want to know what the name of the clicking treat thing is ;-;
CandyBear5 5 LOL! The treat is not clickable! It's called a clicker and it's not Edible!
So smart bird...
Hi good evening what do you give him as a prize?? Thanks
sunflower seeds work
do you have any advice? because i have one budgie, he does step up only when i touch his feet. i want him to step up when i command. any advice?
Budgie Life Care you should say step up while your touching it’s feet, do it everytime you want it to step up, say step up while it’s stepping up, do it until the budgie gets used to it, and slowly faze out the action so then when you say step up, it will step up
thank you!
Budgie Life Care your welcome
whats the clicker and does it help when training ?
Razan B yes it can be used for training , it let the bird know their doing it right or like the way it's following steps
what food give for training, for a cockatiel
Mattheo The Wow put a bunch of seeds in a bowl and whatever seeds he eats the most of is the birds fav treat and use that for a treat

foqqs _ both are pacific parrotlets, if i'm correct.
Komori yes you are
Can you teach a cockatiel this?
Sierra Ceecee yes, any bird which is active
How many parrotlets you have like you alot
Are your birds parrotlets?
Will that make them not step up all the way anymore
Animals and stuff 101 after they get used to your shake, like letting you move their leg, just say shake or the trick name i believe your bird can identify step up and wave
Sparking Light thx
What type of treats can i give my lovebird
Serena star I would recommend for you to put a bunch of different seeds in a bowl and the ones your lovebird eats is what you should feed them, be sure not to feed that seed in their normal food or they will get lazy and go to their food dish to eat the treats instead of working for it, hope this helped
My bird already does that and I only have her for like a week lol
would it make it easier to use a clicker?
Cresent_Star _ kinda, it makes them know that they are doing the trick correctly
Gracie's Universe instead of a clicker, use the word good or click your tounge, they work just a s well
My bird caught onto this in a few minutes
Hat you feed as for a treat for the love birds
What
U are not using other bird (in side the cage)
Lover of shinchan.sneha Teddy cause it is already trained
