I just had an argument with some dingus from the UK talking about how the EF Typhoon is some magical unicorn that can beat the F22 because it fires missiles backwards. And then this. The EF was just developed and I'd love to see it pull off some shit that our 4th gen 1960s fighter can do. EF beat the F22 irl? No. Great video, as always.
IRL W/L is often decided by who sees who first and can get a weapons grade lock first,in that respect alone the f22 would beat a eurofighter typhoon easily more times than not. Getting a weapons grade lock on and a good missile track is a lot harder to do if you can barely even see the raptor on radar. of course there's more to it than that but you would be hard pressed to shoot down a raptor that is hunting you as well

The F-15 is a mature design, not an outdated one. And it has gradually been honed to near perfection. This do everything Powerhouse can bring the pain like nothing else.
(Too) Light wing loading has always been a problem for the F-15 to fly low n fast. High wing loading on the F-111 F-14 B-2 and Tornado in the swept back mode made them unstoppable for Low level bombing. I always wondered if Attack Eagles should have had part of their wings clipped.

This kind of thinking is what is needed in order for the US to increase its military capability without bankrupting the country thanks to the greed of the military industrial complex.
I say upgrade the 4th gens into 4+ or 4++.(naming system is ridiculous. Might as well call the them super saiyan or super saiyan God mode). Build new upgraded 4th gens, upgrade current 4th gens. If funds allow to build these new fighters quicker and cheaper, do that as well. The viper, rhino, and eagle, allowed to be modded with the newest and best, are as formidable than anything else the world has. Take a page out of Toyota's book. They don't build new things every two to three years like Chevy or Ford. They make what they have better, and more reliable. Yeah it ain't the coolest or newest but, it's more reliable and still gets the job done. And you can even say with today's building techniques, the jsf program didn't lose any aircraft in the making of it. It had its fair share of problems but, it never crashed. And it's done, working a few kinks out but, it's in production. Let's not cancel it and spend money on a new project. Every single new chief of air force seems to want a new aircraft built under their name. Upgrade 4th gen aircraft to what avionics the f35 has. Add some new rockets to the rhino, get it's power to weight ratio up. No one else can compete.
Seems like me a we need a 5th gen-lite bomber, built like a fighter jet: adaptive engines from GE/P&W lifting body design Built in EOTS and ECM (epaws for example) to reduce drag Mega fuel storage Internal weapons bays of course Basically a much smaller non-swing wing B1. With most of the ordnance inside, it range won’t be so reduced when fully kitted.
Almost the same airframe. Same number of missiles if they fit the same pylons. EX is meant to be a successor to the C. It has air to ground capability but will operationally be flying CAP most of the time with air-air loadouts. I doubt they'll fit them with this anytime soon.
I would say if the warhead weighs 1,000 and the whole JASM weights between 1.5 to 2k lbs and that fact it can carry 5 along with AA missiles... I would probably guess between 12 to 14,000 lbs total payload
Well they had a chance with the raptor and blew it. At the end of the day, the rate fight the F-16 was purpose built for has gone away. In fact most Air to Air combat has gone away. And the airframe is too small to be an effective bomb truck.
@@appa609 LOL... Guess you haven't kept up with the news, but they are wanting another 4th gen aircraft to replace the F-16 and has propose the F-36... But think a newer version of the F-15EX would be a much better aircraft... And so you know they said that there would be no dog fighting in the 60"s as well but guess that was disproven... NEVER say NEVER
@@thesirmaddog8209 they never proposed the f-36, that's just a concept by some aviation enthusiasts. (Also the F-15EX is like less than a year old.) (Also there wasn't all that much "dog fighting" in the 60s [compared to the amount of missile kills] and there's barely been any since.)
@@andrewmoore7022 LOL... You should REALLY get out more ... CONGRESS has talked about replacing the F-16, but the aviation Enthusiasts have just come up with a rendering... AS for Dog fighting... You should look at the Iraq enduring freedom and some others we had a few dog fights why do you think the Kills for the F-15 are as high as they are do the math... And the F-18, F16, and a couple A-10 have done dog fights during the time as well...
