  • Rear door won’t open from inside and outside? I used polyester cord strapping to open the door and replaced door latch on KIA Sorento.

    Thx for the video! Great guide, both my rear doors failed within a week. Cut a strip from a plastic lid since I didn't have any strapping and that worked to get the child Lock off. Saved me over $1000 at the dealership, parts off Amazon were a great price!🥳

    Thank you so much for this video!!! I watch it a couple times…
    I bought those rubber door stops, the pick, torx set, and… a new door latch assembly ($50).
    I got it done on my own thanks to your help - otherwise I would not have normally taken a car project like this on my own.

    Thanks for the guide, I just finished replacing my passenger side rear door latch. Your guide is very comprehensive and complete.
    My window did bind going up after reassembly. (I was operating the power window from the driver's door and found for the window to operate, the window switch on the door must be plugged in.) I ended up loosening the three window guide rail fasteners, making sure the guide rail was shifted away from the window and re-tightening. That cleared the problem.

    Sir, your video was fantastic. the only thing I would suggest is next time. This happens for anyone else. Remove the inner door trim in the rubber gasket. Around the door. Once you do that, the child safety lock is easily accessible.

    Great video!!! Funny thing is I have a door latch as well but mine also needs a window grip due to the last person who worked on it put the wrong bolt and crossthreaded the threads.
    P.s I don't know how long it took you to open it but it takes me about 15-30 to remove the door panel and westher strip to access the child safety lock. Cheers and keep pumping these cool videos! I wonna see a Sc199 tranny replacement lol!!

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  Před 2 lety

      Crossthreaded always fun work on lol. I actually open the door on my first attempt but my camera is not recording lol, I have to redo it and took me three attempts and probably 15 minutes before I open it again. I almost film Sc199 couple months ago but my schedule got busy and did not finish filming. Thanks for watching and have a good week ahead.

    This is a really helpful video. Unfortunately two things went wrong after I finished. The window doesn’t wind down properly anymore and the actuator seems to work in reverse. Any tips? The screw that goes into the middle of the door (the one you needed an impact drill to remove) didn’t seem to bite when I put it back in

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  Před 2 lety

      Make sure the screw is lined up correctly, if that screw did not bite in your window is probably crooked, also check you actuator cable they might install backwards. Thanks for watching.

    Hi Ryan on my 2011 sorento the heat is not working, ac and fan work, but not switching to heat do you have anything that addresses that? thanks,, and thanks for posting!!!

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  Před měsícem

      Hello, first thing you can check is your coolant level, is it full? if not add coolant and bleed the system, 2nd is if your coolant is full let the engine run until normal temps then check your heater core hose if both of them are hot or same temps heater core is good but if one hose is cooler than the other then your heater core is clogged, 3rd is check your temperature door actuator, the actuator could be stuck on cold position or you have open circuit from your HVAC module or the module itself is faulty. I know there is too many to check but good luck to you and thanks for watching.

      Thank you, Ryan so much for all that information , so cool.
      You Rock!
      I completely understand it.
      As it turns out, it was a clogged heater core
      Was able to flush it out and now I have heat in the car
      Although here in Florida, I do not need it anytime soon 🔥🤣
      However, I’m not sure how to correctly bleed the cooling system ,to make sure I have no air
      thanks again

      I know I used the BG machine to speed up my process but it’s going to be the same steps without it.
      Remove radiator cap
      Used spill free funnel and add coolant
      Start the engine
      Turned the HVAC blower motor off
      Turn the temperature to max heat
      Wait until the ECT notified the PCM that engine reach normal temperature
      Which means the thermostat is wide open and coolant is recirculating, the PCM also turn the radiator blower on to cool down coolant
      And that’s the best time to escape the air from cooling system.
