    ✩✩✩ WELCOME!
    Hey Guys! Welcome to my channel, my name is Mariyea Monay and I am obsessed with everything planning! Ever since I was a child I looked forward to school supplies shopping every year! I had a planner all through out my primary school years! Then, in early 2017 I discovered binder planning. It wasn't for me at the time and I strayed away from it, but now I have re-discovered my passion for planning with Erin Condren! I love using sticker kits and embellishing my planner to decorate my life! This hobby allows me to be creative and exercise my (self-diagnosed!) OCD in a healthy manner! I hope you stick-er-round! Don't forget to subscribe!
    XOXO Mariyea Monay!

    Try that DeAtrimentis ink in a wetter writer. I don’t have experience with that ink, but that Fine Kaweco nib is a dry writer by nature. I’d go as far as suggesting that you find yourself a “control” ink and try it, and it alone, in all of your pens to get a good idea the characteristics of each pen. That makes troubleshooting issues much easier for you in the long run.
    My control ink is Noodler’s Apache Sunset. My first inking of every new pen starts with that ink. If the pen displays that ink with a lighter line, I know automatically that pen is a dry writer. That doesn’t always mean it’s bad, but with a drier ink it can cause skipping issues. Trying new pens with unfamiliar inks is throwing in too many variables to troubleshoot for yourself. Knowing your pens character helps you troubleshoot in the future.

      That’s a really good point, thank you! I’m thinking my control ink may just have to be the Robert Oster Thunderstorm! 😂❤️

    I feel like a lot more issues spring up with the F and EF nibs with Kaweco Sport pens. Those nibs always need to be tuned to begin with, even more so if you like a wet writer like I do. Maybe that would help. I have 5 and only two didn’t need tuning, those were my student pens.

    • @MariyeaMonay
      @MariyeaMonay  Před rokem

      Ahh, I’ll have to look into tuning, I know you use brass sheets so I’ll definitely do some research because I too love a wetter writer! Thank you for the info and feedback! ❤️

      Those are nice choices in pens! They are all German brands. Just a note, the German nibs are thicker than the Japanese. So, a German fine point will be about the same line width as a japanese medium. Keep that little cone thingy to fill the Twsbi pens, they don’t fit in the sample bottles.

  • @gailsbookishthings5191

    Nice to see your pen collection.
    I had some trouble with my Kaweco pens too… Keep trying different inks. I’ve had good luck with Akkerman Deep Water Blue.

    Here’s to you getting that Galen pen case for your birthday! 🎉 I adore that TWSBI Diamond 580. Looks great in that colour (your second pronunciation was correct). Wonderful video, thanks for sharing Mariyea.

      Thank you for watching Michael! And yes, the Diamond 580 is my favorite right now!!! 😍🙌🏼 That pen with the Noodlers Turquoise were a match made in heaven! 😂❤️

    I have 54th Mass also. That webbing effect happens in all my pens. No matter from EF TO BB. Really upsetting because it’s a beautiful ink. I’ve heard many other people have the same issue.

    • @MariyeaMonay
      @MariyeaMonay  Před rokem

      Dang, that is upsetting… well I’m glad I didn’t buy a whole bottle, I had high hopes for that one… 😬

      Noodler’s ink can be tamed by diluting with a little distilled water. You can experiment in small batches, starting with maybe 6:1, ink:water.
      There is so much pigment in Noodler’s inks that diluting it will stop feathering without changing the color.

    An excellent black ink that I really like is Platinum Carbon Black, like the Archive ink it is waterproof. I've tested the Carbon Black by leaving the paper in a cup of water for 30min and it never smudged. Shimmer inks are beautiful, but you need a medium or broader ni to really see the shimmer. I also save shimmer for my dip pens so I don't have to worry about possible feed clogging as well.
    Kaweco and Lamy are German, while Twsbi is from Taiwan, all excellent pens. I personally don't own any from those companies, but do plan to get a nice Twsbi at some point. I don't know what it is about the Kaweco pens, but they just don't interest me. As for Lamy, the Safari and others from their line up with the same style cap just turn me off with that large clip, they're excellent pens but just not my thing.

    • @MariyeaMonay
      @MariyeaMonay  Před rokem

      Yes, the Carbon Black is on my try next list! I’ve heard really good things! 😊 Thank you for your feedback, the pen I tried the shimmer in was actually a Medium nib but I think the shimmer clogged the feed still… I’m just going to save those for my dip pen haha 😂

      @@MariyeaMonay a note with the pigment inks like Carbon Black or Platinum Pigment Blue, is they have a reputation for staining some plastics including clear pens. I haven't really noticed it on converters.

    Kaweco is pronounced Kaveco. I find their nibs are so inconsistent. Loved my first one but others gave me problems.

    • @MariyeaMonay
      @MariyeaMonay  Před rokem

      Yeah I’m starting to hear that… I think I’m going to buy a replacement nib in medium on JetPens and hope that fixes it! 😬❤️
