What's that big fire in Washington, DC?

- In my video, see the smoke across Washington, DC from a large fire in a barn on the grounds of St. Elizabeth's (mental hospital. I just can't get over that massive black smoke all the way across the city from southeast to northwest on the Potomac to the Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Memorial.

That was a big fire! And glad it was vacant, and nobody was hurt. Still, makes ya wonder how a fire started in an abandoned building like that.
We'll find out at some point but probably people in there smoking etc. or arson.
Happens all the time. Homeless with warming fires that get away from them, candles for light, discarded smoking materials, or arson. All equally possible.

They should check on whoever gets the insurance payment or what Bow Wow has planned for that area .
Saint Elizabeth is closed so not sure yet how it started. I’ll update when they tell me
So happy to see you & so glad no one was hurt! Thanks for the wrap up! I was coming home from shopping & too much peopling & wanted some forest time, but as I approached the woods, I see SMOKE just pouring out from one area... called the police and it was just a contained intentional burning, WHEW!!! I would have been so crushed! I'm just super relieved you didn't have to report it was yet another "accident" at a food facility plant, pretty crazy alllll those catastrophes 🙄 (right, Gates? Lol)

I always check with the spokespeople at police and fire before reporting anything to know what it is so I dont unnecessarily scare people. This was an abandoned building. But still always a danger for the firefighters.

Thanks so much! I talked to the spokespeople at the Fire Department twice and seems to be just a barn in DC, very strange thing. I've never seen this before.

And how the different patterns of smoke and clouds almost look the same even from different points of view ?
I think this is a lot like life:
Once we get to know someone, we see their uniqueness and we understand why they are the way they are.
An “abandoned building” would not have that kind of smoke.
They said it was a barn.

I was running along the bridge and thought, what in the world!? And another man stopped too and we both said that was definitely smoke and not clouds. So I had to run to get in touch with the Fire spokespeople and then run to get home to edit and upload fast!

Look back to just 3 months ago and how long it took you to shoot a video and then edit.
It seemed like the whole process was going to take forever but it wasn't all you. Honest.
A big part of it is the equipment, mics, videos, computers, cell phone etc. that you have.
Now compare that with the time that you saw the smoke, confirmed it was smoke and not a cloud,
shot this video, reached out and made the contacts with the Fire Spokespeople,
and then you edited it ALL to fit into a GREAT video and then UPLOADED it to CZcams !
You have come a long way AND you are only getting better and BETTER !
Your patience and determination has really paid off and it shows in each of your video's Emily !
I am so proud of you because at times it wasn't easy - but NOW you are really SHINING with ALL that you are doing !
