If DD finally acknowledged the correct hours they could redirect the customer to a store/restaurant that was actually OPEN and the they could increase their completed sales. Nothing like wasting 5+ driver's time (in a 10 minute span) sending them to a closed Pizza Pizza franchise. I've lived that experience a time or two.

My last McDonald’s order, they were out of the “blue raspberry” drink and only had the strawberry lemonade flavor, but they didn’t take it off or ask the customer, so I had to do it. I do this a lot but never had to for McDonald’s until this order. The girl who was working at the McDonald’s was like 16 and I could barely hear her speaking above all their machines. I had to ask her like 4 times what she was saying. Then when I called the customer, she seemed ticked off and was treating me like I was some kinda weirdo for trying to help her substitute her drink for something else. No thank you, nothing.
The fast food employees were treating me similarly. Ignorance everywhere.

I can see this as a good thing as long as they do something about it. I work at Subway and we have 2 stores one has to close early because we are in a gas station that is closing early therefore we have to close early.

This kills two birds with one stone. It will cut down on the amount of drivers saying a store is closed. And it also keeps merchants accountable. However, this is not a solution for major franchises who do not allow locations to turn on or off these platforms. For example, Chipotle on S. Lindbergh in Kirkwood is a corporate store. They are supposed to open at 10:30am but often don't open until 11 due to staffing. Corporate controller the apps and the apps automatically come on at 10:30am. So, workers show up and are are now already behind on fulfillments and stay that way. It's a corporate tactic to keep workers overloaded on purpose. Verifying these times would not work in these cases where employees are not in control over the apps on the merchant end.
A real job would pay around $17 an hour to have someone call and pay multiple people to do so. So paying a dasher 7 bucks cheaper.

New DD Commercial says “only have an hour? Why not Doordash? Dash whenever you want!” Now we all know that’s not true! We may get a half hour here n there at most.
Paying $6 and $5 in Toledo on Tuesday and Wednesday.. did 2 tasks because I was close to the locations.. declined 5 that were going too many miles
I have no problem with doing it all the offers that I’ve gotten to go check with the store hours. They only sent me a mile away for $6.95 then there was one for $7.95. I’m taking it specially when I haven’t gotten a order and then if I’m already at the place, they give me an order from that place
It also has to be limited to a select few or otherwise it's not going to go pay s**t if it's split a million different ways.
If you do one of these and just call the business is DoorDash going to know that you verified the information but didn’t actually go to restaurant?
One reason: employees might lie or try to dip out early on holidays.
Perfect example was a place leaving some guys food on the floor and cloaing up early on a holiday. They didnt UE/DD they were closing early.

I'd rather have the 1/2 pay. I had one order that paid out $40. That was my half pay. Other Dashers knew the location was closed so they kept declining or they unassigned the order.

I only drove to one cause the phone number online didn’t work. 10 minutes i made 25 and some change. No issues from the gps. I could of just put anything but thats not how I operate. I wanted to be accurate in case they did try to verify the hours , plus theres no point of lying.
