This is the worst argument from ignorance I have ever seen. If we don't know where they are, is it more likely that they A: drowned and were swept away, or B: miraculously escaped and evaded any sighting or knowledge of for 50 years.
Seth R they actually made it alive. A letter was sent to the FBI by one of them. They needed medical attention. One of them passed away after they made it alive just a few years before sending the letter. This was back in 2011 by the way. But the FBI debunked it because they needed to save face and not be embarrassed by 3 fugitives who escaped and made it n survived over 50 years. (And the handwriting in the letter was the same one from 50 years prior by one of them).

I have a simple question! and that question is,? which way out of the cell turning left or right in order to get to the cellar roof top. and then swimming or floating on the raft and floating it towards the Golden gate Bridge. Even though it is only 2 to 3 miles to shore.
A mile and a half doesn't seem that far to swim but At night that water is 53 degrees and it's a pretty strong current. They would have to be a damn good swimmer to make that swim, and even if you were a great swimmer your no match for that water and hypothermia would set in fast. I doubt they made it

While watching Escape from Alcatraz, I had chills down my spine every minute
I'm learning about Alcatraz in school and I love it and I do believe they survived
I forget who exactly but a former inmate at Alcatraz stated that he helped them escaped and they did exactly what he told them to do. No doubt, in my opinion, they escaped. And anyway, at their mother's funeral, two mysterious women were seen there. FBI agents couldn't talk to them before they left.
Imagine being in Alcatraz for multiple years and the adrenaline rush whenever you finally realize that the time has come to escape when you put your head through that vent to crawl out for the last time you know you cannot make any mistakes I would have been afraid of getting stuck I'm a large man I know I could not have made it through that ventilator
I don't think they died, Frank was a very smart individual and I don't think the water stopped him in his escape.

And you wouldn't get Hypothermia too easy if you're Paddling and Kicking like crazy to Swim, because your expending energy that warms you up. They didn't sit on their Asses when they escaped, they hauled ass, and that probably kept them warm. I think they all made it. And the Anglin Brothers sent those pictures and it sure looks like them. As for Frank, who knows where he went, but he was probably there with them. I wouldn't want anyone but my family to know that I made it or not.

The boys survived, the fact that that the raft was never officially found as well as themselves is proof of that, never being found again is not as hard as it seems, if frank, John and Clarence Anglin , kept there head down and were clever about a few things, they could stay hidden, and the mystery continues, well done to them.

Here are a few of my thoughts on the case after the escape.. If they managed to escape the rock successfully and survived they most likely died under aliases or as "john does" in different countries with no one knowing who they really are in the last 50+ years. Also, the people looking for these 3 inmates over the years were probably looking for the 2 brothers together or for all 3 of them together but mostly they split up over the years or died. I think they had help from someome close to them or in law enforcement who was able to keep tipping them off to pack up and move on. I hope they survived to watch their work lol.

but this was the 60s, it was a LOT easier to disappear back then, easier to cross borders with just a fake piece of paper, as passports were very easy to make a fake off, and there were no databases to check against, so as long as no one noticed it might be fake, no one was the wiser.
I really have no idea if those 3 men got away but I have yet to hear a plausible explanation for how 3 bodies never washed up on a shore somewhere. They never even found 1 body let alone 3.

They did made it, ALL OF THEM 3! The brothers went to Brazil they were living in a farm (and could be still alive today) a picture handed by the family to a discovery channel shows the two brothers in Brazil close to a highway, experts say they're actually the brothers.
The FBI knew they did escaped, they just didn't want to look stupid by saying 3 men escaped the "unescapable" prison.

The Anglins and Morris carjacked someone on the mainland less than 8 hours after the escape. The FBI investigated and could not find them. The victim alleged that three men all dressed the same carjacked him with no weapons. The FBI then told the San Fran police dept to keep the matter totally quiet.
When the last one is about to die it would be incredible to be the person notified that they are one of the three and they have a story to tell.

Thanks for posting this. I think they made it. Here on CZcams is a couple of short videos about "Bud" Morris talking about Frank. The resemblance is uncanny, and he once slips into the first person saying "I'm an old man. What are they going to do?" Also, there's the story about two tall "women" mysteriously attending the Anglin mother's funeral. Also the hidden report showing up of the raft being found on Angel Island. Very interesting. We'll never know 100%, but it sure looks like they did it. :-)

They said that a raft was found. Two questions need to be asked: 1. What was the raft made of? If it was prison rain coats then without a doubt it belonged to the escapees!!! 2. Was the raft still fully intact and fully functional? If yes, then the chances of the inmates successful escape rises dramatically!!!!

Back then it was very very easy to start a new life with no such a advanced technology and practices like today. They escaped. They were smart and never wanted to draw any attention.
I truly believe they made it. They would have found at least one body had they not survived. I wish we could know what happened.
Its easy to think that they drowned, if you know nothing about how its like to paddle a raft like that in those weather conditions. Take into consideration that the Anglins where Experts in raft making and had lots of experience on the matter. And none of the three certainly where not stupid, they took into consideration every smallest detail, and wouldnt even have tried to get in the water if they werent sure the raft was gonna hold. Three very fit guys paddling a very well made raft, no matter the currents or tides, its not impossible at all that they made it. And the raft made out of raincoats might even sound like a pretty stupid idea, but if built right, it would have no problem getting the guys over the bay. They used glue and stitches to attach the raincoats, and it was not done over night, when you think about it the raft was possibly very strong made. Its more of a certainty than an uncertainty that they made it. Gotta give em credit, pulling of something like that requires ice cold nerves, very high intelligence, and an uncommonly daring nature. Only three guys in the world were capable of making it.

I recently visited Alcatraz and it’s really big and hard to escape. It’s kind of scary in there, I saw the heads too they were smart ash they looked real too.
I’m 53 years old, born and raised, I’ve never been to the Island , I still want to go but I had a massive stroke 7 years ago, not sure how accessible it is to someone in a wheelchair 😔
