  • Should Team Associated Rerelease The RC10T? It seems like a logical choice. Until then, here is a quick overview and some action footage of the RC10T in action on the Port Royal Raceway!

Hugh, Did Team Associated actually say “nope” ? Is there an article or interview to substantiate that they will not be putting out any future rereleases? All I read are rumors that are posted on Social Media which we really cant trust. Again, I”m not saying that they are... nor do i have any proof...or am associated in any way to team associated... All I’m stating is my opinion as to why logically they should and could.... until Team Associated officially comes out and issues a statement saying they are not going to do any more rereleases... all we can do is keep our fingers crossed, hope and dream that they will.

Mines mostly stock with CF frame stiffeners, CV joints, a Novak 610R and a 12turn REEDY attached to a stealth with a Team LOSI Hydradrive slipper.... i need to update it to brushless as the battery packs im using are the LiON battery packs from my DeWalt cordless drill using a wiring harness adapter.... I think the poor girl needs a refresh... clean all the bearings, re-oil them, clean up the transmission and redo all the ball joints and pins.. I hope they release new old stock parts! cuz that would be a great way to fix up the old girl without having to custom machine stuff on my own.. btw, your battery strap is 3rd party, because if i recall properly, it was a plastic box with a bar across it..

Starting with the #7001 (Truck), #7035 (Team Truck), and the #7011 (Sport truck), all of which went through rolling changes, and part revisions along the way, and will be covered later on. All RC10T's were released with a black chassis (either "B", or "C" stamp), Rear 1.32, and front 1.02 shocks (Hard anodized...7001, 7035, or Gold bodied, all 7011's) with gold springs, and all had the stealth transmission. I was racing a Losi when the 10T conversion was first released, and I built my first 10T out of a team gold rc10.
I still raced the Losi for a year until the new upgrades for the 10T came out. During that time, Traxxas was available at Toys r Us, and Fred Meyers.
I still have the 10T in it's race form, and the Losi is still on the shelf looking kinda sad.
I also have the Bolink and the Schumacher I was racing Ovals and buggies with. I still think the Schumacher was better than the RC10. Hah, let's bring up that 35 year old debate.

It is worth a lot. I have seen original RC10T's restored in clean condition with some scratches on the chassis that run for a couple hundred bucks. I've seen almost mint ones, assembled go for 500 and up to 800/900 on ebay. The main thing to remember is... its really hard to put a solid value on these... its subjective... I've seen some post OG NIB RC10 buggy gold pans online for $2,000. Given the fact that you have a RC10T NIB, I would think it would command top dollar. Not sure if someone would pay $2,000 but hey you never know. If someone really wants it bad enough they will pay that amount. I've been offered a NIB RC10T kit but the chassis was roughed up from sliding around in the box. The seller was willing to give me another black chassis from his team car but I ended up passing . I believe the offer was for $1100. I decided to take my RC10T chassis and get it refurbished. Going to get the paint stripped and repainted by a guy who specializes in RC10's. I'd say minimum of $1000 for your NIB.

I picked up a rc bundle on marketplace in the CO, Rockies. Included a shelf queen mint unused, 7055 rc10gt black tub chassis, made in America 🇺🇸 version. Assembled with a new cv.12 (cool red V-shaped head), futaba magnum jr, painted to match box art truck body, extra body, tons of new 90's rc extras, all boxes, paperworks, advertising, believe it's early mid 90's. Purchased from las Vegas shop in 95. Didnt want it in particular but I knew it was a steal.
Also included a notable traxxas stampede. Original early original 90's rare trx pro .12 duel exhaust and the original massive traxxas "model 2000" radio system.

AE is pretty dumb for not continuing the RC10 releases. Tamiya is still selling the Grasshopper after all these years. If the RC10 was still being released the vintage scene would be bigger because parts would actually be available and cheaper.

AE was bought out by Thunder Tiger a Korean brand i believe. AE has all their old molds to produce, but thats not the issue. Its the "legal red tape" as they are trying to work that out with the new owners.

Where do you get your info on team associated? You couldn’t be more wrong. It’s sad, but when thunder tiger bought out AE, they didn’t secure the molds. So since 2015 all molds are gone.
All you have to do is call them in Lake Forest and ask. Also, look to the vintage resale market for pricing. The 10t will never come back. Nor will any associated vintage vehicle or part ever again.
