Your videos which include many options as to what to look for are great. i've learned alot and have been able to help others with mower issues. Thanks you for them and please continue to make them.
When screwing the studs from carb to intake if you turn them backwards a turn or two they will find the old threads 100% you will feel a click and then you can screw them in, i do that with all metal screws into plastic and it works every time Thanks for your videos they are awesome i have learned so much
Good tips! I wasn't really saying the threads wouldn't line up they just have almost like saw teeth on then and every time they screw in to seat more plastic gets torn off and they don't have brass thread inserts like many of them
Good video just found your channel and like that you do the repair instead of taking about it and a bunch of other garbage ,that the other small engine guys all do now.# 🌟 lol
hello! i have a 2017 Columbia CR30 with the 382 MTD engine! It will start and run fine, but after 20-30min of mowing, it starts to Surge and then just shut off for about 15 minutes like it's not getting any gas, and then it starts up again! Amazon will bring a new solenoid today, as the solenoid was leaking gas from it! Runs strong and good! The choke/govenor swings back and forth when it starts surging! Any thoughts? Thanks much!
I would say the most common cause of this issue we find is going to be a restriction in the fuel line/tank or the fuel tank vent. It could also be a blockage at the inlet of the carburetor or in the carburetor itself that is not allowing full fuel flow
Bet it’s been setting for a couple of years, but most likely they will try and blame you , sadly it happens alot 😮 You’ll get it going again and hope you add a cut of valve
It happens all the time, people get very upset when you tell them the machine you just fixed is not working again because they put their bad fuel in it...or if the machine dies because is out of gas that is your fault also! I install fuel shut offs wherever I can this customer said she wouldn't use it anyway and didn't want to buy one. I didn't bother trying to talk her into it since she said she wasn't going to use it anyway.
Use to be Check Spark now Spark Check'r. I got mine from RCPW when they were out of stock www.rcpw.com/rotary-16740-spark-checkr-ignition-tester-for-ign-engines/
That thing wouldn't make a pimple on the ass of a snapper rer. I can't believe I even looked at one to replace a John Deere GX 85. That JD was a great mower except for the transaxle. Steel axle shaft riding in an aluminum housing with no bearing or bushing. Got sloppy after awhile. Too bad snapper dropped the rer. They wanted too much money for it.
Yeah I agree 100% I used to recommend the snappers but they were on the pricey side no doubt. This is really the only thing left on the market, I do see some Toro 34" zero turn mowers on occasion and they are still made but if you need a 30% there is nothing else out there. I still see a lot of the old John Deere GX series and although parts are getting scarce they are still solid for the most part with those Kawasaki engines. Long as someone didn't dog the transaxle as you said. Thanks for watching!
No offense, but I really wish you would have opted for a tutorial on cleaning the carburetor that comes with the machine, instead of a tutorial that tells your to order a completely different one.

Is there a part # for the replacement carburetor?
There sure is. Part number is in the description
Thanks for watching!
Where did you get the spark checker from? Used to have one and it broke and can't find a new one.
