    Oh man, thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one who has trouble with these pumps! I'm on my 4th one. I dont use them more than about 3x and they quit. I'm going to try your methods because I haven't got anything to lose. So frustrating!

    Hey buddy thanks for the video.. I saw this video after I just put my pump back together with no luck.. I was reluctant to tear it back down.. ended up finding a quicker way to fix it by shooting compressed air in the outlet then the inlet.. cleared right out give it a shot next time!

    Hello, like someone else commented. I sprayed compressed air in the inlet and it’s working.

    I have been frustrated with this the past few years and figured out the solution. Modify the sprayer to make it a constantly flooded pump so the pump has a gravity feed from the tank and it works! I think Fimco wants to sell check valves and that's why they manufacture them with pumps mounted higher on the tanks.

    I tried the compressor trick. It worked for most of the job and something went wrong and I was down to a weak stream again. I will give it a shot a few more times then try the tear down method.

    Thanks man. It worked like a charm. Then I pumped the plunger on both sides and it works perfectly. I bought a new tank for half price cause the pump wasn’t working.

    Great vid. Thanks he other common problem with these is the pressure switch going bad and it won't run at all. You can pull the cap from the end of the switch and jump across the two terminals. If it runs the switch is bad. Make sure you have power going to the pressure switch! If not, the on/off line switch is probably bad.

    This is a great video and very accurate. However, these sprayers are a piece of crap! I have a brand new one that won't hold pressure. I did everything and it still won't spray right. I'm returning it and won't buy another one. I had one previous to this one and had to replace the pump several times.

    I dread using this type of sprayer because you never know if it’s going to work or it’s going to be a half day adventuring in you tubing trying to diagnose and fix these low quality products. Watched your video this AM it was helpful but problem with mine was deeper so had to run to TSC and get new pump $84 and about 2 hours later I’m finished but a better product would save us all trouble.

    it sounds like you have debris getting in and plugging things up. try putting a ( hi flow ) filter in between the tank and pump and see if that cures your problem. try tractor supply they may have something that will work.

    Do you rinse it good with water after running chemicals?

    • @ExploringAlabama
      @ExploringAlabama  Před 4 lety

      not at all. I use it as a "many use straw" since single use straws are taboo now. The flow rate when drinking tea is amazing

      @wildpigremovalinc.executio8028 Před 2 lety +1

      I rinse mine every time, I have learned that an ounce of prevention helps with a lot of frustration. But my motor after winter storage would not pump. I disassembled the top end of the pump. I'm afraid to use break cleaner thinking it will eat the cheap plastic or the diaphragm. I washed the diaphragm with dishwasher soap and primed the pump with clean water and it worked pushing the water through the pump. I primed the pump a second time and reconnected the tank supply hose with out loosing the water that I put into the pump, then mounted the motor in place. Working as it should. Good luck.

    thanks for the video. my 8 gallon pump sprayer from northern tool stopped working the third time I ever used the stupid thing...was about to buy a new pump and yell and curse a lot. Gonna try this when I get home and see if it will prevent some anger. Question...did your pump make any noise like the motor was at least working, just not pumping. Cause mine went dead silent...hopefully this fix works.
