- So I can't upload the whole thing due to copyright restrictions but here is a 5 min taste of what you can expect from this DVD. I highly recommend it if your a TR fan and are learning guitar. It's around $20 on Amazon or eBay.

People talk about Eddie VH, Vai, Statch Etc, what about This guy he is a Awesome guitar player, great feel you can hear every chord with no distortion at all..
Not only a great player but all around great musician and writer.
The guy is amazing..the writing, the soloing..no wonder he revitalized YES, helping them achieve the greatest sales in their careers. His new solo CD is further testament to his ever-growing creative streak..and while it is very different..it is also very good. Check out JACARANDA, the new solo CD by Trevor Rabin.
I completely agree with you on this. And a really cool guy in person. I really think he's very underrated generally speaking. I have this DVD and to hear him talk about technique on it is shows how very serious he is about really knowing his craft as a guitarist and whenever he sets out to do a project he really wants to do it the best it can be.
I like this "performance" by Trevor much better than "Solly´s Beard"...
And, man, this guy´s a ninja, truly an ace on the strings! Unbelievable!
Thanks a lot for uploading this and sharing with us!!
The quickest, cleanest guitarist I've ever heard live - and a really nice guy. Saw him w/ Yes in LA at the Greek theatre (Talk tour) and was lucky enough to meet him later at the party afterwards. He's really tall too! (I had to look up to shake his hand and I'm 6' 1".)
Yes' only hope to ever getting back to doing anything w/ merit. How about a line-up of Rabin, Anderson, Wakeman, Bruford and anybody (Jeff Berlin) but Squire on bass?
Monster and all around great musician..
Fantastic sense of melody and everything else 🤘🥰🥰
That looks like a beautiful acoustic to play. Action like the best electrics. Must possess.
Tom Kolb! One of my teachers at MI! Such fond and GREAT memories for his Single String and Rhythm Guitar classes at Musician's Institute!
Finally get to comment on how outstanding Love will find a way to me is....
you guys made a unique bunch of songs....thanx
how come trevor was never invited to play with satriani and petrucci in G3.
for sure an amazing trio playing live.
Remember this Titan.
unique...!! great feel
Anyone who watches this that’s trying to learn guitar will quickly throw their guitar out the window. Trevor is as good as anyone whose picked up the instrument
I’ve never seen/ heard this. Wow.
And a great person!
I like this intricate, complex stuff he plays but I actually do prefer his Wolf period when he was just belting out some top quality, no nonsense hard rock.
Oh yes. So fine.
Qué animal este tipo!
Cheers!
I wonder if he can still sing... he has a great voice!
Just saw him 2 hours ago - he can definitely still sing. Great show.
To me one of the most interesting details is his DAW (though not really discussed in this segment); for years I thought he was running ProTools 2.0 at the time of filming, but now I wonder if it's really the early version of Digital Performer, which was originally the front-end for ProTools; as we know he utilized the MOTU platform to record Talk after his studio was upgraded by Charlie Bolois. But it's a nice example of how Trevor has always been in the technical vanguard.
Is he using the economy picking approach? GREAT post. Thanks so much for this!
Perhaps, but McLaughlin is just a guitarist. Trevor Rabin is a musical freak of nature.
Anyone know the name of this song and/or where I can find it (that is, if Trevor released it anywhere else?)
He seems like he would be.
I'll assume you have met?
like Mclaughlin but cleaner.
What's the effect in this acoustic guitar?
Octaver
What kind of guitar is that? I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find it.
That's because it's a custom model. And God knows who his luthier was at the time...
But chances are that if you write to him thru his website and ask him about that instrument, if he's not super-busy, he'll answer.
Love Trevor and this is beautiful but wth is going on with the 'snare' at the beginning? The drumming equivalent of someone's drunk girlfriend on tambourine :P
what song is that in the beginning
Is this a alveraz guitar ?
Yes an Alvarez guitar.
easy now, mclaughin would kill this guy when it comes to ability
Shows how little you know.
