I'm a Brit living in Italy for 50 years, and Italians certainly do care what other people think......

Love Italy as I've been to different regions. I live in the Chicago area. As a traveler, I am on the go when I'm there as I travel with a tour group. Up early and lots of walking. I try to blend in ---example: wear more solid, darker colors such as navy, black, dark brown/tan that mix and match tops and bottoms. I do need to stick to wearing sneakers with all the walking, but I'll only wear a "solid" black sneaker with as small a "logo" as I can find.

Iol, I still am wearing 20 year old basics. I wear what fits and flatters, as I don't like having to shop constantly. I will admit shoes are a problem ;)

I lived in Italy for a couple of years and I heard a term “non cuorata” (sorry if misspelled). I think it means dressing out of sync or out of season. Have you heard this?

Hi! Possibly fuori sincrono - out of sync? Sorry to reply so late! I am putting together some more videos on Italian style, which will be on my new channel - Italy Inside and Out - for the new magazine. Hope to see you there!

Hi, this is Bianca from Italy. 'Non curata' means frumpy. As for 'caring about what other people say' , Italian women's aim is to be good looking and attract positive comments , but they tend to feel free to express their own personale taste as opposed to follow trend. This does not apply so much to young teenagers though.

Hi Sue - I do agree. I am putting together some more videos on Italian style, which will be on my new channel - Italy Inside and Out - for the new magazine. Hope to see you there! I put these videos together for the magazine I was working for at the time and it was during lockdown, so it was hard to do anything other than sit in my study!
