- Hub City Drones and Gadgets Complete Review and Tutorial of the Hover Camera X1 By Zero-Zero Robotics, In my honest opinion, this is absolutely the most impressive Self-Flying camera drone I have ever Reviewed, the advanced technology on this little drone is amazing and yet it so easy to use that literally anyone can fly it, the design on this Drone is Awesome, I absolutely love that all you have to do is simply tap a single button on the X1 to preform any of the 6 Preset video and picture function, I was also super impressed with the camera on this little drone, true 2.7K HD video and 12MP photos with HDR, The Hover Camera X1 is definitely worth the price.

I have mine and I LOVE it. Everything just WORKS. The second it lifts off of your had you will notice that smile spreading across your face. Like the one you had when you were a kid discovering something new and fun. I’m smiling as I type this just thinking of the “only” six flights that I have taken mine on. I would have flown more, but that was four or five days ago. Then the tropical “atmospheric river” of rain hit Southern California and I was land-locked, unable to fly outside. But the storm is over. Tomorrow I will fly farther and higher with this, recording as I go! And once again I will have that silly grin on my face. Seriously, this little drone is so much fun!

Awesome video - very thorough - really appreciate you doing this. I have a DJI Mini SE but rarely use it. I know the video isn’t as good with this drone but feel I would definitely use this one a lot more because it’s so convenient and ease of use. Not doing this professionally anyway just for family and friends.

Whilst it has a bag and it is small enough to fit in your pocket. Take great care of the sensor gimble. It is very delicate and can easily be damaged if care is not taken. Avoid disappointment. I found a small tough box and put some sponge foam in it for storage and transport. It would be great if manufacturer added this as an accessory.

Ro manualy control the drone do u have to do 5 of the presets each time u turn the drone on or once u have done all 5 the 1st time is that it u can unkock the manuel control evertime u turn it on or do u have to do the 5 unlocks again

Great comprehensive review! One question you put your palm out then it lads on your palm, what if someone is walking by you and puts there palm out to try and take the drone from you would they be able to?
Hmm! That's a good question and I am honestly not to sure, I know it uses facial recognition so there a pretty good chance it wouldn't land in the hand of the idiot that is trying to steal it LOL!
Im a urbexer so i was wondering for examole fly from the ground up and above your house rooftop and then back down to the ground,would that be possible or should i stick to my actualy drine that can do those sort of shots for me.can u ket me know as if it carnt do what my normal drine can do then i aint going to bother thanks for any info u can give me regarding my question.

Ya not sure what happened with my video editor when I did this one but the video from the SD card in the drone is 2.7K, when I checked the details it did that was the resolution. Thanks for watching!
I've seen a few videos like that were the reviewer says what it can do but the actual video is lower the specified
@@ExelArts all reviews of this product are extremely optimistic about the drone and almost the same script. Also the comments about the review are very similar. Food for thought 😉.
Nice comprehensive video. Does it get confused if there are multiple people around. So if you are in follow mode and multiple people start moving, does it know who to follow?
It uses it's AI to recognize your face and locks on to it, so it won't get confused as long everyone in the group is not looking straight into the camera before it starts the preset (follow) if everyone was looking into it then the drone would just randomly pick someone to follow
China Cycling reviewed it and when he was cycling in a group and view blocked by someone momentarily, it lost him but then refound him a few moments later. Seems pretty competent
I've had mine now a couple of weeks. At launch, you hold it in front of your face so it knows who to track.
So far, I have been impressed with the device and especially follow-mode as I wanted to film some how-to videos without requiring human assistance.
I do wish collision avoidance was better. I had 2 cases this past week where tracking failed in a pretty major way. In one case I was in follow-mode and passed by a tree in the backyard and it totally lost me and suddenly veered off and crashed head on into the house. Weird... The second case I activated birds-eye view to test it out and it shot up vertically at an angle and hit a limb above it, taking it down (I wasn't directly under the tree).
No damage though and I'm still really, really liking the device and over the next few days, I am going to get more practice in with what it can and can't handle. I just wish it had better collision avoidance.

So are the preset modes all it does or can you fly it in the app and take pictures that way?
Yes the is a controller in the app so you can fly it like a regular drone and take pics and videos and the camera is Adjustable up and down from the controller too!

It can handle a small amount of wind I say at least 3 to 4 maybe 5mph, it does Not have Obstacle Avoidance! Thanks for Watching I appreciate it!!!

How to remove or swap out the battery? I cannot find anything in the manual or CZcams on how to do this. I imagine I just lift it up/out but it seems really snug and don’t want to damage it. Advice please?
Use 2 fingers and pull up from the front of the battery (closest to the mode button) there should be 2 marks on the side of the battery that show where to grab it at, they do fit very snug so you have to give it a good pull.
that is very good video, do you know if all X1 should have burst shot? my X1 dont have that option?
The all should have burst shot, you should be able to find it in the app in the video/picture settings
also on hover mode it only give me video, no option for still shot camera
Can this this be flown manually for a quick and easy basic roof inspection of an average shopping center?
I know it can be flown manually, but could you be ground level and fly the drone over a shopping center to look at the roof and it's equipment?
Yes you can fly it manually through the app, I probably wouldn't do it over a very big (long) roof, I would use a DJI the Mini 2 SE or the Mini 3 Pro, the camera quality and adjustability is a lot better, but yes I would think the X1 would work!

Hi Hub City drones, when in dolly (follow mode) can you do more than 60 seconds?, how about 5 minutes following your face as you walk/run toward the drone? I'd like to see that, many thanks!
Yes, You can select "continuous" and the drone will keep recording and following you, when your ready for it to stop recording all have to do is stand still for 3 seconds and the LED will turn green and then you can walk up to the Drone and put your hand underneath of it and will land! The X1 is by far the best Selfie Drone I have seen yet, truly awesome technology!!! Thanks for Watching!

@mariocorona5340 so there are 2 follow modes in normal follow the drone will only follow you going forward in dolloy mode it will follow you forwards and backwards, and you can change the time setting so it follow you in both modes for as long as you want it to or at least until the battery gets to low lol! Am working on a bunch of videos right now but I absolutely will do a video and go through all the modes in more detail, in my Test Flight chapter of this video I am in Dolly Mode when show the Preset in the video.

Yes you can Fly it without the App, all you do press the mode to select the video/Photo Preset you want the Drone to do and then if press and hold the mode you can change the parameters (30sec, 60sec, 5 mins or continuous) you can also set All of your parameters ahead time through app and they be saved to the Drone! Watch the setup part of my video I explain it all in detail.
After the“job/mode” It will return to home （RTH）？
Yes after it finishes the mode it will fly back to you and hover until you place your hand under it

Black is definitely easier to see than the white ones are, I have a florescent orange drone and I can see that dude a mile away (if it could it actually fly that far)

BOYA is what I use, but honestly even the cheaper ones that are made for cellphone work really decent!

Your video is extremely hopeful. Just curious about sound, so far, I'm able to do everything you show, but I can't seem to get any sound?
In the app settings there is an option to allow sound recording, make sure that is on, also make sure your cellphone is near whatever your recording sounds from because it actually uses the mic on your cellphone to record sound

Trying to figure out how to take pics while it's flying.
While it's flying by itself or flying it manually? You can change from video to picture in the app and if your flying it manually through the app there is a shutter button that you can use to take pics and to manually shoot video
Why is it called a duel charger if it only charges one battery at a time? Also, once it scans an owner’s face, can you replace that owner by rescanned another person’s face?
I guess they call it a dual charger because it holds 2 batteries lol! Yes you can scan other subjects besides the owner

Honestly! That's like comparing apples to oranges lol! This little drone has a great camera on it, but in my honest opinion DJI still has the best camera's for a drone!

Yes the body is plastic!
Just a few questions, 1.when in orbit can u move n it still track u. Or u have to stay still ?
2. When follow me,can u sit in a car n it will follow u?
The Orbit mode is like a point of interest on a GPS Drone it will continue the radius even if you move, not sure if it would follow you in a car more than likely it would but you wouldn't be able to go very fast!
15 mph max if you drive slow I think it should work.

It takes photos in HDR and it has burst shot all the videos and photos are stored to the Drone you can view low res previews in the app or select the photos or videos you want and download them to your phone in 2.5K and 12MP

Everyone reviewing this is dancing around the flight time. 20 presets!? So if you only use 1 preset itll fly forever? 😅
The flight time must be pretty bad
The battery life is right around 20/25 mins
It's a good drone, not a great drone. For today's standard it's low resolution. It's a great drone for $150. Selling at $300 to $400 it's way too expensive for what it does...
Do you have any suggestions for cheaper drones that have all these tracking/following features?
The only other one I am familiar with is Air Neo by Air selfie but after reviewing both of these drones the X1 is way better
How do you get the video from the drone? it has a built in 32gb but can you download the video to your computer from the drone
Not sure about downloading to a computer, but you can access all the videos through the App and then select the ones want to download and then it download them to your cellphone

@pedoncule36 yes but it's very limited as to what you can do, I find it easier and a lot better to download the pics & vids and use the editor on my cellphone.
