Hey Blitz, if you use the rake, you will see that it rakes in a cube . If you dig 3 times in the center of the cube and the rake it clears away the entire cube and flatens the wall you were looking at. Makes clearing an area a lot quicker.

It makes for clean mine surfaces and infinite ice/dirt. Dig a little, resurface, dig a little more, resurface. And they try to make you get the Dirt and Ice Wands to get more dirt and ice.
There is a way to set up an automatic repair system with the filters. using logic you can hook wrench throwers to a detector and lay a circular belt line under it. You fill the belt line with wrench bags and the detectors will tell the throwers to fix the filters when they break. The only thing you would have to do is refill the belt every now and then.

I think having 4 filters on the same lava tube works a lot better then having only one filter per tube.
Because even if one filter breaks the machines will still run because there are more filters on that same tube to stop it from breaking and stopping the machine (like what happened at 27:43 / 28:20 where one filter broke and the whole machine stopped).

You are mistaken. Each pipe only takes cleaning from one filter. Each filter cleans the lava by 20%. In order to have the lava completely filtered, you need to have five pipes with a filter on each one. Extra filters per pipe don’t do anything.
@@daxain7368 Nah, he's correct in the filters piled onto 1 pipe will do their job, however that just removes the option of auto repairing them as you need a reader and a spanner hurler facing the actual filter. It might not seem like it, but if you try it with 4 on 1 pipe and then 1 extra one next to them your machines won't take damage that are on the line. I've got a setup currently with 3 drills and a harvester on it and I haven't ever had to repair those machines, but the filters have needed multiple repairs. Basically it's valid if you have to squish your design down, but I don't see why that'd be an issue with how big the claims are. You shouldn't be space limited that you have to mash the majority of your filters onto 1 pipe.
Yes and no. You can shove 4 onto 1 pipe and get the benefit of all 4, however the whole system shuts down if a single filter breaks. Putting multiple filters on 1 pipe removes the option to setup any kind of auto repair and only benefits you in shortening your filter line. But there's also a bit of a caveat to "benefit" of them being on the same pipe. You can put them on the same pipe, however the normal way filters work is that unfiltered lava and water damages machines capable of taking damage at a set rate. Filters reduce that damage by 20% and that gets compounded every filter TO each proceeding filter and that is the damage rate passed through it as well. So 3 filters will mean first filter takes damage at the normal rate, the next one takes it at 80% rate, and the last one is at 60%, meaning machines on this line is taking damage at 40% the normal damage rate. If you put 4 on 1 pipe, it starts to confuse the game. It doesn't know which is "first", "second", "third", and "fourth" in line. From what I've experienced (and this is my hypothesis based on that,) what happens is that you have 1 filter that gets designated as the "first" filter. After it breaks, everything tends to shift around according to durability. So the least durable then becomes the new first filter. I only am assuming this because on the build I have it on, I am always repairing the filters in a cycle around it, with the 5th filter hardly ever breaking down. But it's never 1 on the 4 on 1 pipe breaks and then that one is the next one to break again. It is always like one side breaks, then the bottom one, then the opposite to the first one, then the top one, and then repeat. They seem to break at a similar rate as the first filter in a 5 filtered pipe line takes.
So you are correct in that you can slap the effects of 4 filters onto 1 pipe, but you won't get the max longevity out of those filters that you could in by doing so. You are incorrect in that any single broken filter, even on a filter stacked pipe, will stop the flow completely. It's best to just build an auto repair system to keep things running.
On the hydroneer wiki there exists an idea for an automatic wrench thrower, if you were looking for a vanilla way to solve your breaking machine problems.
Only problem is your wrench throwers need... Wrenches.

You can use a logic set up the filters to auto repair them, you do have to restock the repair things, but it can last a very long time once set up

ok blitz first off 1,000 is enough only 1 buildable has more than that required & 2 1,000 bricks both fit & meet the requirement. Second REGULAR PIPE FILTERS WORK FOR LAVA PIPES! meaning you can make a self repair system with 5 hammer throwers, a number pad, durability reader, & an A = B gate its a lot simpler than it looks

Your weight scale is clipping into the ground. It usually shows both weight and value , the weight part is obstructed by the snow.

Next step is to use the electrical components to have wrench throwers activate when a filter breaks. Automated repairs. Also is that the maximum depth? I'm pretty sure I am getting corestone at the same location.
You need a space next to the hardstone compactor so you can fit a logic switch on so it isnt just making millions of size 10 blocks.

You should also wait to forge tools until you get the big truck from the other island because you can find build mods around the map that improve your tools.

Pretty sure the one he bought has negative modifiers like the drills but I can't remember and don't have this DLC to check myself.
You should add some more repressurizing pipes to the long line
So things dont break turn on creative mode grad the infinite filter hook so things don't break filter hooks take damage before anything else will so if the filter can't break nothing breaks
Or you can just use the automation gadgets to build an autorepair circuit to repair the hooks. You just have to refill the spanner thrower occasionally.

@@Blaze_1961 The repair circuit lasts at least 3 hours before it needs attention. It's easy enough to throw couple bags of wrenches in the truck whenever you visit.

you might wanna put a 1lb bar on your smeltables so you can just drop the bars youve been using for jobs onto the conveyor and it will drop it back into the furnace for you with needing to do a lot of parkour. with bastion i found you could only get 10 jobs at a time im not sure if its the same on volcalidus or if the number of jobs you take on bastion affects the number of jobs you can take on volcalidus as i havent been there on my main and only on creative. you think your harvester problem was annoying i had at least 6500ls of emeralds 3000ls of sapphires and 30lbs of onyx stuck on my gem compressors and everytime i used the magnet my game would crash so i had to remove the emeralds by hand into 6 pans before i could use the magnet on the sapphires which created a mess that i was tidying up for over an hour.

I'm sitting here around 6 minutes in and Blitz's belts have stopped and he hasn't indicated whether or not he's actually stopped them or if they stopped on their own. That is the one thing that annoys me about this DLC; getting water flow started. Game breaking? No. Just annoying when you forget to turn off the water or don't have it connected and it just sits and runs and runs and it's empty by the time you want to start it back up and you have to hand feed it ice bars until it starts getting auto fed again.
5 filters is all you need. Any more and you're just making more things that can and will break and stop the system. All it takes is for 1 filter to break for an entire system to grind to a halt. You're also not getting any benefit beyond 5 filters. Each one filters 20% of the damage unfiltered water/lava deals to machines on that pipeline and after 5, they're not taking any damage and adding more isn't going to repair them.
