      @@AndrewCamarata How'd it go? I don't think that's right off the top of my head. If you filled the 250 full, you'd need several bags to satisfy the ratio but I'll verify tomorrow.
      I imagine your using Portland Bag Mix?

    • @SkidSteerSolutions
      @SkidSteerSolutions  Před rokem

      This is possible. However, if you choose to mix the entire batch on your own, it is still advisable to buy your sand/gravel premixed to insure the quality you would expect for a professional batch. If you still would like to mix your own, scoop enough sand/gravel into your mixer to cover the paddles. Add 1.5 bags of Portland Cement per batch for 4000 psi concrete or 2 bags per batch for 5000 psi concrete. Once you have added water, the mixture will compress so you can add more sand/gravel mix to top off the batch. Once the batch is thoroughly mixed, it is safe to transport to the pour site. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    • @SkidSteerSolutions
      @SkidSteerSolutions  Před 8 měsíci

      You don't have to do it that way, but it's a handy feature for people who do like to use it. You have to add the other materials as needed. People who mix concrete on a daily basis can tell when something needs more water. It's fine to measure the proportions but the fact that the mixer can be tilted can also be used for dumping out all the concrete from the front.

      Just do what andrew camarata does and guess it.. he is a idiot savant it seems though.. so he probably gets it right by assing it.
      That said.. you are correct, good concrete requires proper measurement to get repeatable results for the desired outcome.
      The best way with out weight is to measure volume by buckets and add them in manually.
      Also use a plasticiser for the desired outcome.
      It would be cool if this machine had some kind of weight scale to scoop up correct amounts of sand/gravel cement...

    • @SkidSteerSolutions

      Scoop and Mixes don't have hydraulically controlled center chutes. Just the side chute. Star Industries make great quality mixers and we sell quite a few, but our customers want a side chute so these offer just that plus a range above 9 Cu. Ft. in mix. The BMX-250 = 9 Cu. Ft. which is similar to the Star Industries, while our BMX-450 and 600 can mix 16 Cu. Ft. and 21 Cu. Ft. respectively.
