Hi all. This time I decided to make a drawing on a knife. season 1 of the series Shogun ended not long ago. After watching it, I was inspired to create a Samurai drawing on metal. Thanks to patience and perseverance, using simple technology, sitting at home, I created a drawing with a small volume on the knife. Using this easy etching technique you can create a unique item with any design on any metal. For me this is an incredible result, which I am very pleased with. How do you like my work?
As a basis for the drawing, I used a new knife bought at the store. Before I started implementing my idea, I painted over the knife to apply the design. I drew a picture on the knife. Using a needle and awl, I scratched the design into the paint. Next, I started multilayer electrochemical etching on the metal using a power supply. Step by step, layer by layer, my cleaver began to take on the look I needed. When I finished etching, I used an electrolyte to darken the drawing and give the drawing shades and visual volume. This was a difficult but interesting project. I was pleased with the result of this work and I hope you liked it too.
