I was there …near the front , Lee Cooper soft frisbees flying everywhere- fabulous day, I was 19. Nearly 60 now….think it was Micks birthday. I remember Joe Jackson taking a photo of the crowd from the stage. Great memories from a happier time . I have some photos I took almost at the front of the stage . J.Geils Band did a human pyramid with the band members, George Thorogood rocked the place , then Mick and the boys blew us away. What an afternoon that was! I bought the’ Still Life ‘ live LP of the American concert when I got home and played it a million times , the album cover reminded me of the show at Leeds . I have just realised it was exactly forty years ago today…25th July 1982. Am I really that old?

Went to this tour. October 9, 1981/LA Coliseum. I remember being knocked out by how good Under My Thumb sounded. Then a bit later they did Twenty Flight Rock, Keith & Charlie just locked in to the groove. They still had it, that thing.

I was there with 5 mates, non of us had tickets but after a spliff or 10 with about 20 Rasta (new) friends we decided if we crash the exit gates, only about 5 of us would get caught.... I didn't...... Fucking Awesome!
Julay 7 1982, in Madrid.. 48 degrees, clouds forming, getting dark, and right in the moment they came on stage, full night, come a pouring rain, a strong wind, and a great thunderstorm..! Last ten minutes.. The best concert of this tour.. After 1990 saw a lot of them, all the tours, with great stage productions, video walls, etc etc etc... After all this years I got the conclusion that the first one I saw in the date I had said, was the best concert and the best tour.. Love them all but 82 was special, simplicity, young, spontaneous, Keith and Mick at their best, with Ronnie and Charlie.. After 1990, non stop with great and huge production tours, etc... The really Stones was until 1982...After 1990 has been an amazing experience, but a huge internacional business company.. Don't complain about it.. But simply I saw the simplicity and energy of "old times" until 82, and the after..
Yes, the best stones concert I’ve seen was 75 at Hughes stadium ft Collins…..Chaka khan and Rufus, and Charlie Daniel’s band……mick spraying the crowd with firehose, Billy Preston…..this was concert that Keith told Elton John that he’d overstayed his welcome……stones agreed to let Elton sit in for one song………Keith extremely pissed when Elton stayed in…….one stare from Keith, and Elton summarily arose and beat it back to caribou ranch….ahh the good old days, the night before, the drive-in across the street hosted an all night party with local bands…they opened stadium doors at 8 am, and we picked our spot 50 feet in front of stage…….had backpacks full of weed, vodka, beer, whiskey…..healthy supply of dried goods…..no backpack checks, just good fun
Imagine travelling back in time and telling them that at this stage in their career, they still had 40+ years to go. Greatest rock band of all time. None can compare.
The still life tour they all sounded pretty amazing,, I think I got a vinyl of the Houston concert From the same tour,1 of my favourite live album's as it's got a live version of waiting on a friend & a fabulous version of shattered
Charlie looks so young and handsome. It is amazing how these dudes are pretty much the same now. Maybe the energy level is a little less, but that's about it.

Keith is the only one who can control the mostly elements of this band. Ron, Bill, Charlie & more instruments must follow his sound, mainly Riffs. Further, he is always playing completely free. Since his sound is always cool, they follow it.
To everyone slagging off Mick's attire, I think it's more theatre costume meant to be visible from 300 yards They're not attending an haut couture runway show. You never saw him going out on the town looking like that. It's like criticizing a clown for his choice of footwear while performing at the circus.
