Hi Matt thank you, I've owned the older model for roughly 8 years and it's time to replace it (pre-infusion is very poor). What I'd love to know, on the older machine I could sit my milk jug perfectly on the drip tray and position the wand to steam the milk, hands free - so, does the new machine have a wand height and length similar enough, to perform the same thing? It's actually such a good feature of the original that I don't think I'd pick a machine that couldn't do that as well.
I would have a hard time choosing between the impress or the touch. Less mess is great but also having the ease of use of the touch as a newcomer is equally important. Thoughts?
Breville just teased it on their US Instagram, so it’s gotta be coming soon!! Trying to decide between the Impress or the Barista Pro. Not enough side by side comparisons out there just yet for those 2 machines 🧐
@@cms21186 thank you for the heads up. I would suggest and or assume in deciding on which machine to get, is if you want a hands on learning curve experience to go with the pro. The impress looks as if it takes the guess work out of the equation as far as tamping goes. But I'm with you with seeing a side by side comparison! 🤞
@@cms21186 I recently watched a video that compared every machine that Breville offers and it was quite good. I'm sure you can find it easily IIRC the consensus was either the Impress or the Dual Boiler, which are the 2 I'm deciding between. Basically DB can steam milk at same time as pulling a shot, the Impress cannot. That has other advantages too and bcoz you'll need a separate grinder with the DB, you can choose one that grinds much better quality than these inbuilt grinders. Depends on your level of usage and coffee snobbery lol
Thanks for this review. My express of 5 years developed a fault 2 months out from The end of the extended warranty and I’ve been given a store credit of $650 - what I paid for the Express in 2017. The same machine is now $800 but I was never happy with the extraction speed & mess. Think I will upgrade to the newer Impress now. 👍 Thanks
The difference in ‘mess’ with the coffee grinds is impressive - thanks for showing this

Can I ask what about 878 compares to 876 ? Thank you. Thinking to choose one of those
Just what I was looking for thank you mate
Just bought the impress
Why
Thanks for the compare.Help me out to choose😂
Thank you
Hey, nice video. Any issues yet with the newer model?

I was deciding between pro and impress, went with impress. Very happy with it.
Is it the same size tray?
Is the interchangeable coffee hopper as in do they both work on the other machines?
It's probably the grinder setting, not the machine unless they changed the internal grinder, but both shots seem pretty fast here.
안녕하세요 저는 한국사람입니다!🇰🇷 한국에서도 브레빌커피머신을 많이씁니다!😄
My express came with a dosing funnel so the grinds wouldn’t get everywhere
Is the impress available to the US market?
Not as of yet, hopefully in a few months.

Yes - it’s available now at WS or Amazon or Best Buy
This or pro .¿
How is the steaming pressure, is it same like the express or better
I’d say very similar. I was hoping for better but unfortunately no.
@@mattnoel4720 thanks, pitty was just hoping this would be the perfect machine..

I’m waiting for them to add this ‘Impress’ update to the Pro and/or Touch
