- The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki - Clouded Leopard Entertainment VS NIS America (Steam) | RTX 3050 Laptop | Ryzen 5 5600H | Performance test | FPS test | Detailed Benchmark
Due to Falcom's weird licensing practices, we've ended up with two different Kuro no Kiseki PC ports on Steam. The first one was developed and published by Clouded Leopard Entertainment with Chinese and Korean language support. The second port was developed by PH3 and published by NIS America with Japanese and (soon) English language support. NISA's version features way more graphics features like various draw distance settings, HBAO+, an FoV slider, resolution scaling, and more. CLE's port is fairly humble by comparison and opts for an old-fashioned launcher instead of in-game graphics settings like most PC ports these days. Considering how many more features NISA's port has over CLE's, they've both been set to Medium settings to ensure a more fair comparison.
It's also worth noting that v-sync was left on with CLE's port; this is due to the port locking to 60fps max when v-sync is off, so it cannot go above that framerate. That said, you can also get better performance with v-sync turned off in some scenarios, like the Grendel Transformation cutscene. Thankfully, their Kuro no Kiseki 2 port does not have the same v-sync issues.

Man I can’t wait for NISA finish localizing this game
Just get the fan patch you don't have to wait for NISA to play.
@@jackjohnson8305 I already did
But I can’t wait to hear the English voice over
@@BLAZER_VA mental illness
Does the Eng patch that worked with the CLE version work 1:1 with NISA's version?
NISA version has its own English patch
@@Hamlock_ yo good sir, I have placed the translation file for the NISA version in a folder called 'mods' in the game dir, and running the game it is still in japanese? Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks :)
@@mrr8702 gotta change the language to korean, the patch doesn't replace japanese.
The CLE verion is 10 dollars cheaper, fyi.
It should be even cheaper considering how much worse it runs and how many features it lacks compared to the NISA version.
