Platini ha vinto le finali avendo accanto (oltre a campioni come Paolo Rossi, Cabrini, Boniek e qualche altro) anche onesti giocatori come Favero, Briaschi, Bonini, Marocchino,...) ed ha vinto un campionato europeo (oltre ad un'altro terzo posto, ed un quarto al mondiale) con squadre dove il più forte era Tigana (?!).
Se dovessimo valutare i giocatori solo dai titoli vinti Dani Alves sarebbe il più grande calciatore di tutti i tempi (e Maradona uno dei peggiori).

Still remember around mid 80s, the press compared Maradona and Platini the way they do it to Messi and Ronaldo today. Van Basten and Gullit then emerged into the scene in the later part of 80s.

Scoring check, passing/assist check, head game check, free kicks check, leader of men / captain check... he had it all... physically, not the best, but above average, smart, cunning... but if there was one thing to highlight, it was the incredible accuracy of his long passes (not crosses), 30/40 yards, and the attacking player would receive the ball almost at his feet... incredible precision, also demonstrated in his free kicks... along with Messi, Ronaldo, and Cruyff, Platini is among the best never to have won a WC

Grande Michel, my boyhood idol. In his prime Platini even outshone Maradona. Easily the best long range passer I've even seen. In five years at Juve he won everything apart from the UEFA cup including 3 x Ballons Dor, 3 Times Capocannoniere - from midfield. Elegant & beautifully balanced.....and he was a smoker!

Il più completo e intelligente n. 10 della storia del calcio. Regista e cannoniere, micidiale nei calci di punizione, classe, visione di gioco, fiuto del gol come un attaccante. Gol di destro, di sinistro, di testa, con triangolazione veloce, da lunga distanza e di rapina. ..assist man unico con lanci di 60 metri sopra i piedi del compagno di squadra...un fenomeno. Se avesse avuto un fisico più adeguato e se fosse arrivato in Italia 3 o 4 anni prima, avrebbe vinto molto di più.

Le nombre de buts ne veut strictement rien dire surtout sue zidane etait un meneur et Platini un 9 et demi. la difference entre les 2, cest que Zizou marque les buts important et qui resteront gravé ds la roche. Zizou a mis 3 buts en équipe de France qui resteront à jamais gravé ds l histoire : 2 en finale 98 ( qui offre la qeule coupe du monde a la France) et 1 en 2006 avec une panenka magnifique qui restera ds l'histoire. Best French player in history, despite missing out on World Cups
When you're robbed in such a scandalous way by the referee during the semi-final in 1982 against Germany, you can do what yoy want, it's very difficult to win a world cup in these conditions.
But France with Platini has also be in WC semi-finals in 1982 and 1986, which is all the ame not so bad compared tomany other countried.
Using "missing out" is so not very accurate.
A #10 who used both feet, knew how to score, took free-kicks brilliantly, could spray the ball, good in tight spaces and whatnot. An absolute legend!

Uwielbiałem patrzeć na grę Platiniego. Była taka elegancka, wirtuozerska i zarazem skuteczna. Czyste piekno piłki noznej. Reprezentacji Francji brakowało mu kogoś do wsparcia w ataku. Wspaniała linia pomocy i taka sobie linia ataku. To tak kontrastowało z wystepami w Juventusie, gdzie wszystkiego było w bród. Był atak, pomoc i obrona. I tam Platini zajaśniał w pełnej krasie. Fenomenalny zawodnik Jego rzuty wolne to majstersztyki.
I loved watching Platini play. She was so elegant, virtuoso and effective at the same time. Pure soccer beauty. The French national team lacked someone to support in the attack. A great midfield line and so-so attacking line. It was so in contrast to the performances at Juventus, where everything was galore. There was attack, mid and defense. And there Platini shone in all its glory. A phenomenal player. His free throws are masterpieces.
When playing for Juventus, the great Giovani Trapattoni was the team coach. During an interview he said he would never trade platini for the package Maradona + Rummenigge. It says a lot.
What do you expect Trapattoni would say? Of course, he was Platini's coach.

That man was able to locate all players current FREAKING positions at the field in a blink of an eye , it was like almost he had a (sonar) inside his brain , as a (visionary) player , nobody even comes close .
And consider this, Platini could also play with his back to goal in a centre forward position, bringing others into play or turning his man and shooting. He played quite a few matches for Fance in the centre forward postion. Like against Northern Ireland in 1982 world cup with Soler and Rocheteau on the wings.

C'est surtout en plus d'un grand meneur de jeux avec une clairvoyance hors paire sur le terrain, un très grand buteur.
Par contre, Zizou, balle au pied est un plus beau joueur.

Jamais en 82 nous aurions du perdre cette demi finale contre les allemands.
