  • Does your electrically adjustable wing mirror no longer operate as it should. Then why not just swap the Mirror motor. Its pretty easy and much cheaper than a new mirror.

Hi. I have fitted a few aftermarket complete mirror assemblies. They cost about £70 for long arm versions. I never considered removing the motors from the old damaged mirrors. Wish i did as ould have sold them on ebay! 😅

I do not know if my memory is correct... but I think I remember a video where a stallentis van replaced the complete drivers side mirror with a pattern part and it caused the a fault on the regen on the DPF and then a regen fault due to a temprature sensor missing from the new item.
The ext temp reading is needed to trigger the regen on DPF.
      Hope you are not affected!!

You have remembered correctly @@kevinjmercer However if your original has the temp sensor then it can easily be switched over to the new assembly or as in my case, just popped throgh the hole in the bottom of the replacement cap. The critical thing is, if your van had an external temp sensor before you changed the mirror. It should have one after. And if possible re use the original.👍

      Hi John, well done. 🇬🇧

Good tutorial John, as always. I wonder whether Ducato based campers like your old Ruby or my Hymer 524 use similar motors.

I actualy reoved the cap / cover from Ruby's mirrors and in that i can confirm it looked like standard ducato motors screwed to a Rapido unique Aluminium bracket and then covered in Rapido caps, So I would imagine that most Ducato based A classes use a similar mix and match approach.. (I think the mirror glass itself was also Ducato despite very differently syled mirror caps

@@ToTheGarage Ah…that’s encouraging should I ever be faced with that situation.
