I think most people think of germans as cold and unfriendly but if those people meet a german they will notice that yes while we are colder and less open at the beginning because that is our culture and how we are raised, when you get to know us better and break through that wall we have, you have a friend for life and a very good friend. We are different from americans or italians in the way how fast we let someone in our life, its a protective measure. Americans or Italians or whatever talk more etc make more small talk and seem to be more open but in the end those people talk a lot and also behind your back, when a german gives you a compliment or says he likes you it comes from the heart and you shouldn't betray that he let you in.

Another thing that I noticed is that they love to have parties and have fun like us and this can be seen very well when they are on vacation since they are always "wild" and euphoric. They ever stayed cool, and so often the Italian team just put the Germany team aside. It's hard to find German restaurants but I always tell people how much I like German food anyway. I always try to buy German food from supermarkets instead. :) I actually think Italian food is overrated (with some exceptions) but that Spanish food (if we talk about White Mediterranean people) is actually better overall!! We live here for over 12 years already and still don't like German food. Germans drench everything in sauce, so when you order a salad, it's more unhealthy than the baked potatoes, which are drenched in oil. Your cake (Kuchen) is just not very good, to even distasteful. German sausages: yikes and unhealthy too.

I am Italian and I love Germany and the Germans. Except for the inexplicable period between 1933 and 1945, Germany has been a pillar of European culture in the past, and the lighting guide of democracy and Western countries today. Not only for well-known expertise, precision and accuracy, but even because none has never come to terms with its own past as Germany did after the Second world war. Nowadays the world needs Germany more than ever before: every human being who believes in right, science and reason look at Germany with hope. And let's debunk the not-so-affable mith as well: Germans are often smiley and loving. They just need the proper intimacy. I see intelligence and respect in this. Oh, and obviously there are even stupid people in Germany as everywhere else.

I‘m sorry to hear that. In big cities everybody is just minding his own business and the Scheißwetter can get you really depressed. It’s especially bad for your vitamin D levels in your body. I‘m always so tired and lazy hahaha. I hope you’re not too homesick and get in contact with the right people at the right places. 6:46 I'm a US and have never traveled to Europe (maybe stereotypes are true? lol) but I'm lucky enough to have several European friends from various countries.
I think stereotypes contain some small kernel of truth.....and this is probably the source of the stereotype however, I agree with the young lady in the video that stereotypes are greatly exaggerated. I think they also refer to generalities rather than to any specific individual. What a boring world it would be if we were all the same, yes?

@Cawaii Casey some things better probably, some things worse. the us doens't have universal healthcare.....and I think the food in Italy is much better tasting and also healthier. Also, all european countries have much more developed cultures due to having a longer history.....although none could compete in this category with China's 5000 years of history.
In the US.....if you are willing to work hard, then I think it is easier to raise your own standard of living.....this is an opinion of my friends in a few european countries who have visited and worked in the US
