The scene as they praise Shiyi - she is truly humble and not taking any pride because (IMO) she just taking with a grain of salt because she knows Great Madam isn't really on her side. But the smirk Dangyang gives as she shades Con. Qiao is priceless. The excitement of Lingyi when is mother gives him an opening to praise and acknowledge his wife is so endearing.

After Shiyi saved her from losing her baby, Danyang finally overcame her prejudice against Shiyi being a concubine's daughter and saw her for the loving, intelligent and kind person she was.
The way he looks at his wife is breathtakingly beautiful. He loves her so much. Yet another chance for him to sleep with his wife...lol The way he's looking at her sleeping is too cute. Her reaction is priceless. She's so confused/he's laying their playing games. The stern and cautious Marquis is making fun of his wife/I'm loving it. Shiyi is so confused. She doesn't know how she ended up in bed with him.
The GM is a piece of work. She's only praising Shiyi to teach Lianfang a lesson. She doesn't mean anything she said...because her actions towards her didn't change at all. I was happy for the praise but it wasn't genuine at all. So when she gets mad at Lianfang then she starts treating Shiyi with a little more appreciation. I really can't stand that woman.
I love Lingyi. He's skillful in making up excuses to spend time with his wife. This time he's actually living with her. My man is in love. Shiyi has his whole heart. Poor Zhaoying being put on the spot again...lol Lingyi knew he had to jump in because Zhaoying has a habit of exposing his plans. He doesn't know how to keep a secret...lol I live for the cute moments between them.

I agree that Shiyi doesn't understand her feelings for him. She is used to taking care of others, and therefore does not understand what really drives her. General Fu did a very good thing when he brought him drunk to Shiyi. Up to this point, Shiyi had only seen how much effort Lingy needed to solve family problems alone and helped him. And now she involuntarily got acquainted with what mental strength it cost him. She saw his pain and fears driven deep inside. For Lingyi, this gesture is very valuable when she holds his hand and guards his sleep. Next to her, he can be himself, he does not need to hide his fears and pain. Shiyi will not turn away from him, but will support and protect. She does not consider this something wrong or unacceptable, for her he is a man, not a machine. In general, this gesture is very revealing. I agree that GM is not very sincere and wanted to teach Lianfang a lesson. But she did not even realize that her words to Shiyi were the last straw that broke through the dam that kept her son from taking decisive action to win the love of his wife. I was laughing so hard when he broke the window. Lingyi understands perfectly well that without a “plausible” pretext, it is not worth moving to his wife. But his antics are very boyish, he is so proud of his invention. Poor Zhaoying did not guess what his master wanted. Still young.
@@Irynash11 General Fu knew what was up. He knew how much Lingyi longed to be with Shiyi. It was the perfect opportunity for him to be cared for by Shiyi. It was the perfect opportunity for her to see him with his guards down. All the stress/responsibilities of caring for the entire Xu family has taken its toll on him. He was thrust into that position at such a young age/gave up so much in order to safeguard his family. It's unfortunate that his own mother didn't care enough about his sacrifice to make things easier for him. Instead she pressured him into accepting a life that he didn't want in order to make her happy. She didn't care what he wanted/she didn't accept his objections whenever he voiced them...prime example, he was stuck with Lianfang as a concubine because she wouldn't allow him to refuse her. He was so lucky to have General Fu looking out for him/helping him along the way.
It was a very significant moment when he woke up with her holding his hand. She gave him security. Afterwards he looked for a plausible excuse to move into her residence. He wasn't messing around. The security she provided him that night changed everything for him. He wasn't going to spend anymore time away from her. He was happy to be sleeping in the same room with her...even though they slept in different beds. Shiyi opened his heart completely. The POWER of Shiyi. No other woman stood a chance...lol
@@shontelagrone8713 On General Fu's part, it was just a brilliant idea. He knew that Lingyi loved his wife very much, but avoided her because of his inner fears. It was a really great move that was a turning point for both of them. If not for his actions, Lingyi would not have made up his mind for a long time. You're right, the fact that she held his hand turned his world around. It is the first time she makes such a gesture. It is not he who saves and protects her, but she. The way he touches her fingers tells a whole story.
He really found an excuse to be around her all the time. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other better. He didn't dabble, but his window-smashing is indeed a bit of a boyish act. And yes, he wasn't about to let Zhaoing ruin the whole game for him. Of course, he is a smart boy, but his language is sometimes ahead of his thoughts. The way Shiyi carries himself shows that Lingyi was right. She just needs more time to get to know him.
@@Irynash11 General Fu's was one of my favorite characters. He didn't have much screen time but he made such an impact whenever he was around. Lingyi was very lucky to have him by his side...helping him navigate through the ups/downs of living the life that was chosen for him. He was one of the few people that was genuinely happy for Lingyi when he fell in love with Shiyi. He remembered their conversation when Lingyi admitted that he was in love for the first time in his life. That still gets to me...he had so many wives but was never happy with them. He never loved them. He was only duty bound/that's all that he gave them. His mother did him a great disservice by pushing her agenda onto him. She didn't care if he was miserable. She only cared about the Xu family name/status. Lingyi sacrificed so much for his family including his heart. General Fu knew everything that he did for his family/he just wanted to see him happy. The best part of Lingyi's journey was the moment his started making decisions for himself. The GM losing her hold over the family was icing on the cake. Lingkuan finally grew up. Danyang stepped up/started taking a bigger role in the family. It was solid proof that the old lady's influence was no longer needed.
