- President Putin of Russia has given his first interview to a western journalist since the start of the war in Ukraine and used it to blame the conflict on the United States and Britain, saying it had been triggered by Nato expansion and prolonged by Boris Johnson.
He also claimed that the detained American journalist Evan Gershkovich was “caught red-handed” handling confidential information in Russia, but added that an agreement might be reached with the US to release him.
Putin was speaking in a highly anticipated interview with the American former Fox News host and conspiracy theorist Tucker Carlson.

There are several reasons for that: 1) It's done to safeguard the leaders in case they get somehow compromised, because they can always say "It was misinterpretation" 2) No one would ever trust a machine to do the job on such high level. Only affeliated people who wouldn't distort the words of the speaker. And you never know what the machine is programmed for.

Yes, Zelenakiy don't want peace talks with Putin (and that is understandable), but there is no such laws that prohibits suggesting a peacetalks and therefore death penalty is just a Palin lie. Death penalty was abolished in Ukraine in 2000 after joining Council of Europe.

As an American its so sad to see us sending billions of dollars to Ukraine and not doing nothing to secure our southern border and helping our veterans and Americans who need the help in our nation and see our congressman do absolutely nothing for Americans
that is true and it is really sad to see. Im amazed that there are people in America still that dont even question where all that money even goes since it didnt do anything for the war. While many people in USA are starving, unable to feed their kids and families or just pay the rent or a doctor, while bilions are being sent to Ukraine and Israel to continue the war instead of negotiating to stop it. Unfortunately things like that will continue because majority of people will always follow one side of the media thinking its all true without thinking on their own, using their own heads and rebeling to things like this. This is the Calmest most rational and respectful interview I have seen with Putin. He wasn't on the defensive
There are many enlightening bits of information that came out of Tucker's interview with Putin, but the most strikingly evident thing is the awareness that the Russian president, although at times sinister, is immensely more intelligent and rational than our own. The conversation was pure journalism, and a conversation that needed to be shared with "we the people."
