I love the FF VIII soundtrack, in fact it is my favorite soundtrack of all the series. So it was about time to cover a song from there :)

Let me get the EXP! (disc 1 Dollet w/Seifer)
Just finished ff8! LOVED it

well basically you practice it over and over until your brain does it sort of "automatically". It shouldn't feel like you're struggling, if you do, it means you need to practice it some more at slower speeds. It is crucial that you practice new techniques and licks very slow first, so your brain can understand all the subtle movements that couldn't possibly be memorized if you only play it fast. Once you get the "muscle memory", you can start increasing the speed gradually.
Hope that helps!
Wow..its been 6 year already..haha..but really a wonderful piece of advice..im amazed..keep up the good work and god bless u brother..👍👍👍
complexity has to be built based on your situation meaning get used to going horizontal and vertical between 2 notes then 3 notes then 4 and so on and so on now in regards to speed?
That was a great explanation! 😊
I see that Nightwish poster on your wall😉. Nightwish and FF8, we will be friends!..
I realise it's been NINE YEARS but just know that people are still discovering your cover man and finding it awesome!
Yep!
same lmao

It's all good it's been 24 for the game and true fans are still playing the game and listening to the OST!

Of all of the metal covers to this song, I feel like this one best captures the spirit of the original composition
i'm 11 years late but this is pure fire
For as old as this upload is now, it still holds up really well. Your composition on this track is fucking awesome 🤘
I like the fact how half of this is close-ups so people can learn how to do it :P
More people need to know about you! You have so much talent! I'm spreading the word!
this is how i wanted the original to sound when i first heard it, your a bloody legend thankyou
definitly my favorite boss theme! great cover! :D
If they ever remake ffviii. This should be the battle music!
+octavio mancilla except for the solo, i hate when guitarists do their own solo with final fantasy song... i mean they still do their own version of the song enough that they are unique so why bring solos in to them

Not quite a remake, but they announced yesterday a remastered version of FFVIII for PS4.
Oh boi, get ready to be sad then...
@@ScrewFearMe Fucking right. Applies to almost every videogame cover in CZcams, with perhaps the notable exception of the Gametal guy. That dude shows MASSIVE respect to the original material.
This is SO badass!!!! Thank you for making this amazing cover!!!!!!
Ive never really been a fan of metal but dude you killed it great video!!
I need to play this, thank you so much for the tab!
You keep picking some of the best songs!! I love each of them, keep doing a great job
I've been wanting to hear a metal cover of this jam :D well done sir
Oh man! I'm glad you covered this!
I could honestly listen to this version all day
Phemomenal work @Ferdk!
This is a really neat remix! The FF8 boss theme I always found to be one the more iconic ones.
Superb in every way! Clean, true to the original and very well "matallized"! Bravo!
I'm definitely gonna learn to play this! It's one of my favourite final fantasy songs and you play it soooo well! You're amazing dude :D
Still one of my favorite covers of yours.
Literal goosebumps 😁. Fantastic cover
So clean brother! Thank you!
Dude, that was awesome! You got some damn sweet tone there too!
Your covers are REALLY good! Normally I only watch piano/orchestral versions, but you need commending on how excellently you perform & arrange your pieces; especially the battle themes! Keep up the magnificent work! :D
Simply amazing
This song brings back memories, great job!
Excellent as always! Also, nice Nightwish poster.
Sick, man! FFVIII is my fav, and you did a very lovely job covering the boss battle music. :)
Dude! Your rendition of this brought me to tears, literally! ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BRILLIANT!!
-Sincerely, a guitarist of 15 years and Final Fantasy fan of 19 years.
OMG this is absolutely epic!!!
If you ever revisit this one, you gotta keep that spinning gunblade transition in the video. So good.
@supershigi Thanks Laura! :) glad you liked it ^_^
Thank u! I was looking for this and I found it!
Dude, thank you for making this song more awesome. I'm definitely gonna put a like for this video : )
sick bro
So great!!!
Since 2 years this is my Song i listen before i Hit the gym ❤️
Yep same i've had this for years on my workout list, gives me chills everytime.
@jam2995 @TheDelRe haha you kids, thanks :D glad you liked it! Jake, I know what you mean, some of the scales are harmonic minor which sounds like Bach, he loved those :)
Fantastic.
awesome dude, this cover is really great!! nice work!
The part with Rinoa was Awesome!!! Greetings from Spain
Less "band" and more "guitar hero" oriented than the BM version, and much, much more interesting to play. You did an excellent job sir, and giving away the tab just adds to the cool. Thanks x 100
the tabs in the video description include the solo as well, plus I made a tutorial video for this song (it's posted as a video response and also in the description). At the very end of the tutorial I break down the solo into 5 sections and play them at normal and slow speed, maybe that can help you out! :)
Love this Epic theme cover!
this is so metal! love it man!
Sounds awesome!
You're the best ferdk, amazing skill
Hell yeah, man! Great job!
thanks for the tabs, nice cover! =)
That solo is perfect
@4658dan thanks!
I use Toontrack's EZDrummer for the drum sounds. I write all the midi instruments on Cubase 5. And yes most of the time I create all of it from scratch, though in a few videos I did use some midi files found on the internet to work with. I gotta say I prefer the results when I work from scratch, but that is just my personal experience :)
Nice. Heavy, and powerful yet there's still an air of emotion behind it.
Definitely my fav ourite one! Thx dude!
this is truly a masterpiece.
amazing
AMAZING!!!
genial fer como siempre!!
thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Finally someone provided a guitar tab, you are so awesome! Also, you got a new sub. :)
AWESOMENESS DUDE!
AWESOME!!
Great job!!!
VERY nice job!
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS EPIC!
ive never played through any final fantasy games (i'm not into rpgs) but damn that was awesome! great music!
Amazing
nice play dude
excelent job man
awesome, good job!
good everytime
Very good, You did not overdo the metal in the song, just the perfect balance
Extremely Sick! Props to you bro!!!
@makotomi5252 if you mean for the rhythm guitars I don't use any delay and just a tiiiiiny little reverb, I prefer the rhythms to sound dry. For the lead guitars I use delay and reverb, but not much, about 25% of each. As for the specific effects, I use the ones in PODFarm, the delay I use is called "Digital Delay" (a simple delay, nothing fancy) and the reverb is called "Cavernous" :)
wow brings back some gd memories, nice work
pretty sweet!
love it
LOVE IT !!
awesome like always:D
Got a speeding ticket listening to this. Thanks, Ferdk.
awesome
loved it ;) That was some mad skills right there~
can't wait for FF VIII Remake with Voice Actors 👍🏻👍🏻
Perfect!
awesome video and skills, thanks for this :)
You sir have melted my face off.
you temporarily change the time signature to 5/4 for that one measure and then bring it back to 4/4 right after that :)
Damn dude i nearly crapped myself when i heard your version A BIG THUMBS UP.
excellent
yo i always thought that would make a good metal tune... u just proved that... i got chills man... nice touch with the solo
Do it! :) just know that at first it will seem like its a bit too hard but don't sabotage yourself thinking stuff like "I wasn't born for this" or things like that. We all struggle at first, but its so incredibly worth it in the end ^_^
Good luck!
Sweet!
superbbb!!
Why cant I find this on spotify? I want to blast it out in the office to all of my colleagues
Like what you did with this song!
wow, that's really impressive!!!
