I went many times as a kid. The first few times we didn't realize the caves actually went down through the dome, and we stayed in the upper area. Around the third time we realized the caves had a path all the way through the dome, so we went down through, a bunch of kids all on our own. It was a lot of fun. I'm about to be 25, and my wife has never been there, I'm looking at going back out there and taking her through the cave. I'm bigger now, though, and I can't remember how tight of a squeeze it gets to be
The children will never forget the fun they had exploring the cave with dad.
The cave was no joke. Just did it for Father's Day with my wife and our boys who are 4 and 12
Thanks so much for this video! Our family went today and explored the caves (we wore headlamps). Definitely wouldn’t have found this without the video!
Happy to help and glad we could help with the adventure!
@@EpicDadventures how long does it take to make it through
@@uptoproofingdisastersoluti7218 - Probably about an hour if you’re fairly agile and know where you’re going. Possibly longer the first trip through.
Just make sure you stay careful out there. If you look at our cave systems in america and where a lot of missing people go missing.. they match up lol.
Been watching caving videos for a while. My siblings went in first cause I was too scared to go, while they were in I thought about how I really wanna do it, then went in with them the 2nd time. I was thinking there would be tight spaces, but there weren't. I'm really glad I did
I think I went to that rock field a long time ago with some of my extended family, but I never actually went down into the caves. I'll have to check them out sometime!
I come back to this video a lot so i don't forget about this cave, it's a really good guide!
Only time I did the caves was when I was in junior high around 1993. Took a route that was not marked and the last section we had to crawl in our stomached to get out. There was also a spot with about a 15 ft drop that you had to jump over.Great memories
that was so cool! really captures the spirit of adventure
Thank you so much, Henry! I’m glad you liked the video! 🙂
We got invited to tag along with a church group. It was a tight path but lots of fun.
Thanks, that was cool
I carried my niece and nephew up this hill,on my shoulders, different times of course❤
I'm so scared watching this !!! But it look fun
Great Job caving I am going to try and find it one day : )
Very awesome vid btw
Thnks for the tour y’all are great kids
You’re very welcome! Hope you had fun. 😊
Great job sweet edit
Thanks, sir! I appreciate the kind words! 🙂
When I was a kid my family lived at Buchanan Dam Tx. We went to Enchanted Rock one weekend. this was about 1964. AKA 56 years ago. We heard about the caves but we did nit try to enter because we did not have the lights needed. Great video.
Same here I was too scared we wouldn’t have enough batteries for the flashlights
Thank you sir! Definitely take redundant light sources (and your spirit of adventure) if/when you go!
Really cool
Thanks, Radical Radiation! Definitely let us know if you end up going and we can give you some more tips! 😃
I love the crystalline concrete features of the True Ancients who built the continents. #TerraformingofTerra
I've made two videos of Enchanted Rock explorations (in the "Archaeological Explorations" playlist) showing the building of the True Ancients. Fascinating!
Good video. We have a video of enchanted rock too. One of my favorite parks so far.
Thanks! Enchanted Rock is a magical place, for sure. I’ll check your video out, too.
Enchanting!
Haha. Thanks!
What the heck, I live here and didn't even know about the cave lol Thanks :)
I’m amazed by how many people don’t! It’s especially awesome for hotter days when you want to cool off near the summit. 🥵
@@EpicDadventures my family first showed me the cave around year 2000. I was too scared To go in but i think I’ll try it this time 😃
There's a load of !!! there! LOL - that's what I remember my boys warning me about (~30 years ago)!
Good story. Hidden jem for sure.
Thanks! It was my first attempt at one of these videos, and it feels campy now, but hopefully still useful. 😊
Been exact rout. Just follow the arrows!
I mean, that looked really neat...but you guys are braver than I am. I like caves, always did as a kid, but I dont think I could crawl in those holes like that, if there were snakes in there or something. Plus, I heard that that park was having erosion issues. Anyway, nice video
The worst we saw in the cave were some crickets and a tarantula corpse.
The good news is that it’s pure rock, so no real risk of erosion.
Been here so many times, where do I find this cave ??? 😩
Lol there’s a secret cave on the very very top of the big rock I used to enter as a kid. It’s accessed at the bottom of that right vertical squeeze under the giant rock sitting up on big rock. You know the one where everyone congregates to take pictures etc. the giant rock up top is covering the cave and you can get in by squeezing between the gap between the rock and the mountain.
As an adult I only weigh 110lb so I think I could still fit… it was a great place to smoke weed and catch giant millipedes
E: lol I just realized you’re at the cave enterence that a lady absolutely wiped out and fell into when I was there one time. They had to get a couple of rescuers from the park to get her out because she hurt herself falling in and couldn’t get back out. Being young I was pissed because I couldn’t go in that day due to the events
E2 in the cave I talk about in my first comment there is a smaller room that is approx 15-18ft. High that has a hole to the surface in the ceiling. You can sit in there and hear all the people walk above the hole oblivious to the face a person is directly beneath him. People look into the hole but rarely see you due to the cone nature of the ceiking
omg you know that's a perfect environment for scorpions!
We did see a big dead tarantula in there once! 😂
How long did it take to get thru the caves
I’d allow a couple hours for your first time.
Has anyone gotten stuck? The openings you went in through looked rather small/tight.
The tightest squeeze is actually near the opening, at which point it’s smoother sailing.
As long as you pass that gate, have others with you, and have the courage and the backup light sources then you should be good to go.
@@EpicDadventures thanks for responding

I just went there today but didnt know how to go I to the deep cave, I couldnt find an entrance, only to the beginning
TreviFN - Drat! Did you try to use this video to find the entrance, or did you discover the video after? Either way, one tip to help make sure you’re on the right track is to look for a length of thin cord in the entrance pit. It wasn’t there last year, but it was last month when this video was shot.
@@EpicDadventures I found the entrance and got about a minute in, but there was little openings to go further and I wasnt sure which one it was, I'll make sure to look for it next time
TreviFN Gotcha. As long as you see white arrows and go in their general direction you should be good even if the route you choose has a wider opening (the routes tend to end up in the same place). I always like to go with at least one more person, though, because if your light goes out or you get stuck, it could be a long time before anyone’s going to come by. Good luck, at any rate and thanks for watching! 🙂
@@EpicDadventures thank you so much, next time I go I'm definately heading down there
I’m stuck in this cave upside down. 😮 What do I do next??? 🗿🙃 I’m currently in a staring contest with a scorpion 🦂
You still there? I'm going for spring break if you can wait for me
Hang on help is on the way. Ok now everyone together,
" hang on help is on the way
I'll be there as fast as I can
Hang on a tiny voice did say...
The song is help is on its way. The Little River Band.
advice from someone who started climbing there when it was private property: Don't go in the "caves" unless it has rained heavily in the last day or 2! Folks have been peeing in there for decades and you want that pee to have been freshly washed away! There are a few places at the northeast end of the caves that very few venture into because of the tight squeeze to enter and the exit further down-slope.
Do you think that’s where Jack Hayes hid out to fight the Indians?
I can't believe he let's his kids do this. .....and he is wearing sandals.
*Sport sandals. Haha
I’m a pretty big rock climber, so this sort of thing doesn’t phase me and I consciously try to instill a spirit of adventure in my kids. 😊
much better than those that let kids watch tv and surf the internet all day
Last time we were there was in April. Ran across a 5 ft snake. What kind did not hang around to see.
Very cool, I'd suggest encouraging your kids to notice they're climbing in an old manmade structure though. It's beyond apparent this is a melted structure of a past age. Which is why there's nothing but flat surface and right angles throughout, it's like a tiny remnant of old star city that Minneapolis is built upon. 😊 Keep exploring, but encourage children to expand on their first imagination of what their mind computes. 😊
That's not a secret. But you want to know the actual secret cave where the Indians lived I'll tell ya
Dont leave us hanging. Where is it?
@@sethenglish3657 ill have to film it and post it very difficult to find ive never seen another person in the cave in 20 yrs
Go up little rock the huge crack you can walk up the crack. Allnthe way to the top. When you see trees follow the top top of those groupings you seee a huge pile of rocks and and 3 ft tall opening you have to go down into it on youre butt one in side slide thru the crevice on yourr back and you will find
Sounds awesome. Is “little rock” the name of a formation?
@@EpicDadventures Little Rock is the rock to the left of enchanted rock
What is wrong with that guys voice at the start ?
Growing pains for my first narrated CZcams video. I noticed there was a jump in tone from the intro to the content, so I just exaggerated it in the edit.
In retrospect, it ended up being more creepy than dramatic. 😂
So if your not in shape dont go here
Well, if you’re that out of shape you probably won’t even make it up to the top of the dome, but you do want some decent agility and rudimentary climbing ability.
thats not a cave
