I met someone recently that had met Gohr at the Berlin world championships. They discussed this race. Gohr said her blocks were faulty, hence the poor start. She had complained to the judges without any luck. When you consider the Russian cheating at the games- the triple jump fiasco, opening the stadium doors to give the Russian throwers favourable winds it's wholly believable.

Good afternoon everybody. I notice some people keep saying that Marlies Gohr got faulty blocks and all a that, so what about Lyudmila Kondratyeva who got injured from about half way the race and still managed to finish ??? How come no one talking about that ??? Or am I the only one who notice🤔🤔🤔??? It's way much harder to continue running while injured than to recover from a from a simple poor start (caused by faulty blocks), most people who get injured during races don't even get to finish, so she definately did something special, Lyudmila Kondratyeva is the winner for me don't care what nobody wanna say, remember it's the torso (chest/stomach) that counts at the finish people, not head, neck, arms, legs, hands nor feet. Just imagine what that time would have been if she didn't got injured !! Don't get me wrong Marlies Gohr was unquestionably a force to reckon with, besides she was the world record holder, but on this occasion it's very clear to me that Lyudmila Kondratyeva was in the best form.

Well, what to say to these 1980 Olympics? It is pretty clear that Göhr was faster than the russian, who was even worse as Göhr at leaning forward when passing the finish line. Actually it doesn´t matter, because all those GDR / CCCP athletes had taken steroids.
However this result underlines, what a bad host the USSR were. They cheated in many events. Talking about triple jump, jarvelin throw or even better and easier, gymnastics. Hope Russia will never get any Games again, unless they are reliable.

Looks like you're the great expert on watching tv shows or reading ads in Sports Illustrated. Just replace GDR/CCCP(USSR to be correct) to USA, Moscow to LA or Lake Placid etc in your own text and you will get an equal amount of opposite opinions. Cheating occured at many Olympics and other events and soviets were cheated far from less than others.
Steroids in gymnastics? You deserve Nobel prize, dude!
As for this particular video - everyone who has eyes can see who was first on the finish line.

I guess you are talking about rhtyhm gymnastic. In that case it is true. In GDR everything had been documented, as everbody knows. Even there they said, there are only two kind of sport, where doping doesn´t make sense. Rhythm gymnastic and sailing. About the other gymnastic with apparatus: I did it myself for many years, and dude, you need some muscles to e.g. hold a cross on the rings. Ever tried?
3.) Watch 2:03. Göhr´s chest in front of Mrs. K´s. Btw: how comes, that Göhr had to run on lane 8, when she was second best in the semi finals? That at least is a fact, that every one who has eyes can see.

@@mrtorstai53361)even being there(Olympics) doesnt make you an expert on implementing steroids automatically, so you have no rights to state that. Most other athletes did that as well but
GDR and USSR were the leading countries because there were a scientific providing on state level. And they became leaders before doping era begun.
      2) natural abilities are way enough for any gymnastic element to perform, everyone can gain enough muscles for that by regular exercizes. The point is training a vestibular system. Detecting steroids in gymnastic is quite a few and using it is crazy and ill-advised.
      3) even on this poor video you can not define germans chest ahead of russian one. But placing german on 8 line was one of the numerous violations on those games.

@@худой_Бердыев 😂🤣😂...yes but no, no but yes, nice arguments. From hero to zero, that is, how it went. Both countries, USSR and GDR, do not exist anymore.
Many athletes were abused by their systems and paid for their glorious medals they won with physical and mental diseases. After the re-unification of Germany, ex GDR athletes had the chance to have a look at their Stasi-files to find out, what happened to them. It was a crime, that is why a lot of them went to court. The german state was forced to pay them a compensation.
Still some former GDR citizens are dreaming of those good old times, when their country won hundreds of medals. They don't care about the victims and how they suffered and/or still suffer. What ignorance!
I know one of those victims personally. She almost commited suicide because of what happened to her beginning from her childhood. She asked her parents, if they didnt notice, what happened to her and her body and why they didnt protect her? And what did they answer: they thought, when the system tells, what is good for her, it must be okay.
Still her parents are proud of her medal and can't understand, that she threw it away.
