What Were They Thinking?! Meta Quest 3 Controller Charging Dock from APEXINNO

I had high hopes for this Charging Dock from Apexinno, it looks the part and a controller dock is a nice way to not only keep your Quest 3 controllers topped up with charge but also give them a home in your gaming den. Sadly though, Apexinno has designed it in a way that just simply baffles me...
Placing the controllers into the charging station in reverse feels just backwards, no seriously, you put them in the wrong side to how you are holding them when you insert them. Unless you like to cross your arms when inserting your Quest 3 controllers, this dock is designed for The Upside Down.
On top of this, the stand is built too lightweight and as a result it could be easily tipped over when both controllers are inserted making it a little back-heavy. Its status indicators are designed vertically, which doesn't make sense when the controllers span either side of the indicators. Sure the top LED status light is the right side controller, no, or is it the left - you get what I mean?
So overall, this accessory for the Meta Quest 3 looks great from afar, but in practice, it has had some really bad design choices that straight out of the box, put up a brick wall between me and recommending the product.
Browsing their Amazon pages, I saw Apexinno also have made 3 other charging stations, all with the same design choice of inserting the right controller in the left position and the left controller in the right. What upside-down world are they living in? Otherwise, it is a nice-looking docking station for your Meta Quest 3 controllers and a decent way to give your controllers a place to stow them and keep them charged. The replacement battery door covers, needed for the charging to be passed through to the supplied rechargeable batteries, aren't the best match for the Quest 3 white colour, whilst the stand itself is, again, mad!
Overall, it's crazy and quite baffling why no one brought all these issues up during its design or usability phase, and to go on and develop 3 more docking stations like this just isn't right to me. So unless you see some use case for these bad design choices, then I would give this charging dock a miss.

Seems like a design flaw that they just realized after machining the molds for the plastic injection.
It could be. They all their versions of docks have the same swapped design, so it seems intentional. 🤦🏻♂️

i have type A and mines is just blue even at low battery do i need to plug in somewhere else its currently plugged into my quest charger
Either that’s the colour they chose for charging or maybe it’s a fault. You could try a higher wattage charger but the quest 3 charger should be enough (18Watts?)

Oh no! You have to swap the controllers on your hands!
Give me a break. I have this, and it's perfect. Think about how you have to search for the controllers on the couch each time you pick them up because God knows where you put them down last time.
This thing works as it's supposed to and I have zero problems with it.

😂 Convenience goes a long way. It’s a flat out bad design. But each to their own if you’re willing to put up with it. Enjoy
