I have a question: do you ever see the green lamp icon glow when they are active in the dashboard? I bought mine and at night I have no indicator in the dashboard that the lamps are on.
Is this on a 9N3 polo ? i have not noticed the green light not being on before its something im going to have to check

i did yeah,
you have to change the percentages on the app for light sensitivity if i remember right.
best thing to do is play around with it a bit.
make sure you hit save after every adjustment though

i am about to buy this switch on ebay, but got few questions you might help in this case
if it possibe(by setting up through the app) to leave it on auto mod, while its on auto the side light and the front foglights to work,
when it gets dark the main lights turns on by itself,
do you think this apps lets you to mess about with the settings
i have got polo 2010, changed all the bulbs to led's it looks cool when the side lights and the front fog lights ,
but obviously i have to manullay turn the switch at on position also pull up onces to turn the front fog lights on.

Hey mate thank you, yeah you can adjust everything in the app (when it works) the app can be a bit difficult to get to work.
You can have the lights so that they come on when you open the car and lock it etc it’s a real good bit of kit 👍🏻

I have a question. I also have a POLO 9n3 GTI, but my car doesnt make any sound when my doors are kept open nor do I have a blinker sound, I was wondering if you have the same thing or not.
By sound are you on about the lock and unlock beep of the horn?
I don’t think the polos came with it, not in the uk anyway.
The blinker sound is normally the relay clicking so if the lights are still working as in flashing for directional changes then the relay may be on the way out

Hello.i would like to ask you something about this switch. I mentioned that it has 13 pins.On my Gti 9n3 the original has 17 pins.Is this going to work properly?
I dont make the switch to i couldnt 100% tell you that it will work.
aslong as the connecter looks the same then i can gather it will work
The best thing to do is to contact the seller to see if they can shed anymore light on the situation or even better get you a wiring diagram so you can see how the switch is pinned.

I just prefer the look of the auto switch, lol. Looking at one for my GTI but i'm not too bothered about the feature itself, haha
if you buy one from a mk5 polo they are a straight fit. make sure it's the pre face-lift
Did you have any problems connecting it to the app or putting your fuse card back in, I’m installing mine now and can’t seem to connect it or get mine back in, I have got a slightly different one though
Yeah connecting it to the app was a bit of a pig but I got it eventually.
It’s just trial and error to be fair.
Best method I used was to put the switch into Bluetooth mode (dial on auto)
Turn the ignition off using the key then turn it back on, then search for the switch on your WiFi setting on your phone, it says Bluetooth but my one connected via WiFi 🤷🏼♂️ it might take a few attempts to work but just keep trying 👍🏻

I fitted this to my polo 6r but sometimes when its a bit dark the dash lights dont come on or even my lights

If you’re replacing it and don’t need it anymore try to get a flat head screwdriver behind it and pry it out slowly that’s the best advice I have mate 👍🏻
I have very intesting issue with that one. When its stay in auto and i leave the car everything its okay coming home its working and turning off after 30sec but in the morning the parking light its on automaticlly... So my diagnostic its when it's dark and i leave the car headlight are off but in the morning when sun is come the parking lights are on... Any advice for that?
Make sure you check your settings in the app, it sounds like you’ve got the settings the wrong way round.
For instance, the lights are on when its light outside and dark when it’s dark outside which isn’t ideal, try playing with the settings or using the ones I put in the description for my set up ?

Thank you for your advice but when its day it doesn't came ON. The thing is like this... When its on auto in day its OFF and when the night come its ON...so in frist impression there is no problem when i am in the car. But when i leave the car in night for example with auto still no problem i lock and after 30 sec headlights are OFF but in the morning automatically parking light are ON. After this when i go in the car and switch OFF and then AUTO again headlights and parking light are off again 😂😂😂So after trying and trying i see this...
If i leave in auto and night come its on automaticlly doesn't matter i am in the car or not the same thing its when its come from night to day again doesn't matter i am in the car or not automatically parking light came on 😂😂😂 And i dont have this app btw i thing main dont have Bluetooth. Ty for your advice i will try to fix this
Can you uninstall the app after you've set the switch up?
Yeah mate, once it’s all set via the app it saves the data so the app is no longer needed, unless making adjustments 👍🏻

I tried to get it from the internet (because the playstore doesn't list it anymore) and couldn't connect it to the light switch.

Do the lights turn on when you unlock on a 9n3 polo with this mod? Be nice if you can do that, but just not sure if the car is too old.
Yeah you can programme it to do that, the switch has a sensor on it to detect how light it is outside so you can set the lights to turn on and off whenever you like 👍🏻

I think that’s more of a software issue mate with the golf 7, I know they have a lot more on board computers for things like coming home and leaving home lights etc

I’m not sure it’ll work on your model to be honest, the best thing to do is pop out the switch you have in there already and then see if the connector matches the switch in the video?

I found the app a bit crap tbh, it works better when it’s connected to the switch so wait till you get it installed into the car and it should work fine 👍🏻
You do have to pair the phone to the switch and there’s a code, I believe it’s 123456 if that don’t work I’ll find out for ya 👍🏻

i had to find my ol android phone to make it work.. xD but something that bothers me is... its only my position bulbs that light up... and ofc the back lights

I'm struggling to connect bluetooth as no pin numbers will work. What was your Bluetooth pin?
Try the pin 123456 you’ll need to do this on an iPhone too android didn’t work with this app 👍🏻

It should do mate best bet is to ask the seller 👍🏻

it should do mate but I cant guarantee it, your best bet would be to contact the seller via ebay and ask them, they should be able to give you more info

The 9n3 polo didn’t come with DRL’s as far as I am aware.
Are you fitting this to the later polo the 6R?

I’m not sure mate, best thing to do is to take the one out your 6r and see what the connector on the back looks like, if not I’m sure there’s one for a 6r on eBay 👍🏻

There’s two versions of the app, try the one that’s in Chinese writing on the App Store that one might work, other than that I’ll have a look on the internet for a possible alternate app 👍🏻

I’m not too sure mate, best thing to do is to see if the connector on the back of the switch in the video looks like the connector on the back of your switch.

Hey mate, I’m not sure if it would use the same app, it’s possible but I cannot say 100% it’ll be the exact same.
You can set the lights to stay on after you lock the car, for instance after my car locks it’ll keep the lights on for 15 seconds, when I open the car the lights come on for 15 seconds but this only happens if it is dark outside, if it’s bright sunshine for example it won’t activate any lights.

I’m pretty sure you can get replica GTI headlights with the black surrounds from AUTODOC mate, depends where you are in the world it might not cost that much ?

There should be a link in the description of the video, if that doesn't work I know they sell them on Aliexpress and some other eBay sellers may sell them, just make sure you contact the seller to confirm fitment.

I’m not sure mate, the best thing to do is pop out your switch and see what the connector is like on the back, if it matches the rectangle one in the video it’s possible it could work 👍🏻

That is a weird one, have you fitted it properly? Also if I recall there’s a fuse built into the switch itself, check to see if that one is in there properly and ok?
is it blowing the fuse in the fuse box or like I said in the switch ?

So do they come on when the ignition is off? Don't want them coming on in the night while im parked up haha.
There’s loads of settings for the lights.
I’ve got it so when I lock the car and it’s dark enough the lights will come on and stay on for 10 seconds but only when it’s dark enough 👍🏻

Just bought the same one, doesn’t work with IOS 14. I had to use sons iPad and then worked perfectly.
Yeah I’ve tried contacting the developer and I haven’t got anything back from them, I might even look into getting an app developed myself if it’s not too much money 👍🏻
I contacted them via eBay and they confirmed it doesn’t work with 14 and try an older phone!

I used a iPhone in the video, I think the app is just not up to the task, it took me several attempts to get it to work.

It’s called CFA LIGHT on the Apple App Store I haven’t used it personally but I hear it does work with the switch 👍🏻

It might be worth messaging the seller or have a look at the wiring in the rear of your plug and see if they match up?
Do you recommend any other switches and it being connected to Bluetooth, does your phone need to be connected at all times or is it just for the initial set up?
This is the only switch I’ve had any hands on experience with mate so it’s the only one I’d currently recommend.
Your phone only needs to be connected to set it up, after that the switch will do whatever you’ve programmed it to do, I hope this helps 👍🏻
Very helpful indeed much appreciated! The only issue I had was as I have a aftermarket fob, I’m sure that shouldn’t cause an issue.
By fob do you mean the key to unlock the car? If so it’ll be ok as far as I’m aware 👍🏻

No once it’s set up it’ll just follow the programmed settings auto doesn’t rely on the Bluetooth connection it’s purely there to just change settings 👌🏻

Yeah, it’s a great little mod that’s fairly cheap and easy to do!
I’ve upgraded the number plate lights and headlights so it looks super modern at night when you unlock or lock the car
Looking forward to see what other mods you’re going to do to this car. There’s not much on the internet in terms of modding 9n3 gti.

The plan is to basically replace every bolt and part in order to turn it into a little track toy 🏎
Car's&Engineering little pocket rocket as they say haha you could change the steering wheel, I heard you can get the flat bottom mk V steering wheel and it’s a easy swap.
I could do but they are quite a lot of money at the moment I’d rather spend that on performance parts at the moment 👍🏻

Mine was a bit sticky to get out, try get a plastic pry tool behind it to slide it out if you can, that helped with me 👍🏻
