Ben, for someone lucky enough to fly regular J, Qantas are a train wreck in Business; well that is comparing them to Qatar, Emirates, Singapore Airlines
The flight you were on , QF1 later continued to London it's known as the kangaroo route and last about 23 hours

Nice trip report. Amenity kits... If they have facial mist they are a 10, if not they are a 5. I guess I am not much in the way of standards. Safe travels.
Yes, you're right i think an amenity kit is a very important criterion to take into consideration! Have you ever flown onboard Qantas?
Great video! Would you recommend 28K? Was it still quiet even though it's located just in front of the lavatories and galley?
Hi Nathan, thank you for your comment! 28K is a basic premium economy seat, and the lavatory being so close won't cause you any trouble during your flight. It's also important to know that seat 28k has a bulkhead behind it, which means there's nobody behind you to bump or kick your seat, but your seat recline may be slightly limited. Hope this will help you !

I have given up on Qantas due to their poor service and political interference. Have switched my allegiance to Singapore Airlines. This has cost Qantas 60k in a 12 month period. I have no intention to return.
We make regular trips to Germany, Japan and the North America. Once upon a time I always flew Qantas. Well, that fairytale ended about a decade ago, and now the likes of Singapore, Etihad and Emirates are our choice for trips to Europe. I have no intention of booking with QF anytime soon.

looks miserable and boring cabin. Singapore airlines would be greater option as a business hard product!
I felt like the cabin was actually quite comfortable on Qantas but yeh, not as good as Singapore Airlines !
Qantas these days is a shell of its former self. This is what happens when Joyce systemically ran the company into the ground. So MANY better options these days. Especially in J class!
sydney airport is one of the worst, doesn't compare to any top level airport around the world. i don't know any other airport that requires you to pay for public transport to get between terminals
