      @@harryjaggardtravel Authentic Sri Lankan food - Sri Lankan Rice and curry (very different to Indian, Pakistani, Thai or any other rice and curry. Sri Lankans use different spices and different cooking techniques and methods to prepare the food), string hoppers, hoppers, pittu, kottu, Sri Lankan tea, coconut rotti etc.
      Not Authentic Sri Lankan food - Biryani, chai
      Restaurants run by Tamils and Muslims will not serve authentic Sri Lankan food because their food is influenced by India, Pakistan etc. If you want true authentic Sri Lankan food always go to Sinhalese restaurants.
      Try the orange coconut. It’s called king coconut (in Sinhala it’s called thambili). Thambili/king coconuts are native to Sri Lanka. You won’t find it anywhere else in the world. They’re delicious, refreshing and full of electrolytes.
      Important Sinhala words to know in Sri Lanka,
      Tasty - Rasai
      Very tasty - godak rasai
      Hungry - Badagini
      Thank you - Isthuthi
      Thank you very much - bohoma isthuthi

    I heard that the structure of your tongues are different from ours. Next time, you can ask the chef to adjust spiciness, you need to train slowly;

    My friends and I were at the place where you came to eat kottu. We were in the second floor you guys walked by us saying good evening in sinhala as you can see in this video. I recently watch Ali's videos.I recognized him that day because he say good morning and evening in Sinhala in his every video.... 😅♥️

    When you order food in Sri Lanka always ask for ‘low spicy’. In Sri Lankan language low spicy is ‘Adu Miris’. (Miris means chilly). Enjoy your stay mate.

    Although you were a bit late to join others, its great to watch all of your vlogs in our country. Try going to "Ella", "Nuwaraeliya" . Its better if you could catch the train from Kandy. You will be amazed by the view, climate and the mountains. Its totally different from what you saw at sigiriya. Enjoy your stay in Sri Lanka. Cheers.

    I always eat plain youghurt with Sri Lankan or South Indian food ... they are used to digesting double the spices that we have in Pakistan or North India. That gentleman who said he was 61... I could see you resisting to say 'you don't look a day older than 60'. lol. Anyways, great entertaining content. I felt I was there in Candy. Keeping showing us Sri Lanka.

      @@harryjaggardtravel If u can't handle spicy, just let them know when u order. But actually Kottu recipe don't have green chili or Pepper in it. That's a wrong place to eat kottu.

    so the buzz of exploration continues.... sri lankan food seems quite similar to indian and pakistani food. but more to indian side from the level of spice they have. Here in pakistan we think our food is so spicy but after witnessing other countries spice level, realised that Pakistan has moderate to low spice level.

    It is good to see you'll trying spicy food... my advice would be to drink hot water/hot tea with bit of sugar after eating spicy food, to wash it all down and all the gases will be washed down as well... ( Just adding..It will be great with other functions next day in the morning as well ha ha)

    You can feel your home country feeling if you go to Nuwara Eliya... very cold place, architecture is also similar to English... many breathtaking mountains , waterfalls are there.... then go to Horton plains national park... it is like a heaven on the earth..... you can hike Thotupola mount (2hour hike)

    Kottu Rotti is home to the city of Jaffna. It was launched in 1970 in a small restaurant at Five Junction, Jaffna. It is very popular among the youth, the people of Jaffna do not eat beef BCOZ they are Hindus.
    Christians and Muslims eat beef,
    The beef-mixed KOttU was the most delicious.

    please come and visit the university of Peradeniya. it is on the opposite side of the Peradeniya botanical garden. today is convercation day too. you can get an amazing experience. maybe first time for foreigner. tomorrow and day after tomorrow are also convercation days.

    Kotthu looks soo spicy though...Try Cheese kothu that is not spicy at all...That's a must try..Cheesy with Chicken n Kothu 😋 You can try in Pilawoos or Bilals in Colombo...You could get it in Kandy too :>

    Whenever you're trying Koththu again, definitely try Sri Lanka's latest Jak koththu also called "Kos koththu" in Sinhala.
    Maybe somewhat cheap, more tasty & more healthy.

    I love spicy food. Whenever I have a meal that is not spicy, I feel like I haven't eaten!! I am obsessed with the heat!
    Warmer countries eat spicy food for many reasons, one is because spicy food causes you to sweat, which cools the body :)
