Samosa's are good everywhere. NZ supermarkets even sell them in their deli departments, and I also make them at home. They are easy to make once you know how and you can make the filling to your taste. They are lovely served with raita. And a big bowl of chai....

You know what i dont like not just in Sri Lanka, its when they give you a silly price in the hope that some tourist pays it, like the Samosas. You get that a lot in India where they try to rip you off. Then they try and laugh it off as a joke when you question the price.
It was a joke. We make that kind of joke in tamil to build a rapport or connection with the customer. Then they all can smile and the customer literally is persuaded to buy from the shop after saying the real price. It is because of the cultural difference he did not understand it.
