Such an incredible breed! I own a pure white Yakutian Laika with Icey blue eyes named Maple. I had got her from a breeder who had just met the breed. When she was born her mom died and the breeder did not care to keep the litter and have to bottle feed and care for them, so i took the whole litter home and raised them myself. Maple stuck with me. She was the only female and the runt she truly boned with me more then the others, so i could not let her go ( she chose me). Sold the puppies to amazing homes and got them health checked. Maple is trained as a service and emotional support dog who travels with me on planes, cars, on foot and more. They really bond well with there owners. She loves to go the the barn and gets along great with the kids in the home and other animals. I wish they became more known in the world of dogs as there so incredible. I dont know what i would do without a dog like her. The breed is so amazing!!
I really love that you do point out what kind of person should NOT get each type of dog! Sometimes channels only highlight the great parts of each animal and don’t discuss the negatives or any extra card involved. It can get owner and pups into trouble! I like that you are still positive when you point out what is generally considered negatives but you still make it clear. Thanks for the great videos!
Not all dogs in a breed are the same, so what I tell about my dog will not be the norm for all dogs of the same breed. When you go to a breeder that knows how their dogs work they will know what puppy needs more exercise than the other. We have a relaxed version that will love to run with you... so when I go out on the kickbike he will be happy to join but if the walk is shorter he is fine with it too. As long as we keep his brains working. He doesn't wreck the house and is a happy dog. He loves to be close to us always but does accept beeing alone too. He is from a litter of 11 puppies from The Not Fancy kennel in France and I can tell you.... they all are different...

Hauntingly beautiful, intelligent, sweet dogs. I had briefly heard of them and watched a couple videos about them, but didn't get to see such an intimate look into their real lives as companion animals. Nadia is a perfect companion, I think. She looks at the both of them like my favourite doggo friend looks at me when we get to see each other, and it melts my heart. 😅 That kind of dozy-looking, half-blinked stare they can get when they're in the process of slowly melting into a sleepy puddle from pets and scritches. ☺️ I'm so glad this channel is still putting out videos like this. They're endlessly entertaining. Dogs are my absolute favourite. ❤️
wow ! extraordinary dogs ! Strangely, those dogs have blue eyes !! For us , Humans, having blue eyes is having a problem with the sun.. but not for these dogs !! lucky them !
I have a Yakutia laika that my next door neighbor rescued! I was supposed to foster him and after 1 second we decided to keep him! He is the most affectionate dig I have ever had!
I also have a white Siberian Husky that looks almost exactly like Nadia but with blue eyes! And a flat coated retriever mix. Three big dogs with long coats! I love it! The Laika especially is sooooo cuddly!
This is highly unlikely, due to the rarity of the breed they aren't just going to pop up in shelters especially ones outside of Russia and if they did the community is quick to reclaim the breed. Respectfully the dog you have is likely not a Yakutian Laika or even a mix of one; i personally own three of them and it is a wonderful breed but we are having issues of any random blue eyed dog being claimed as a Yakut when they're not.
I have one as well. Mine is a “rescue,” as in, she was originally with someone else, and ended up needing to be rehomed by her breeder, so I took her in since I wanted to rescue but also loved this breed. She wasn’t being treated very well at her previous home. However, this is not a breed that you will find in a shelter or as a rescue in most cases. There are a lot of people claiming to have a Yakut, and they don’t really, so maybe that’s the case with who you got yours from. I would be very skeptical of what you were told. Most breeders, at least that I know here in the USA, will reclaim their Yakut pups and rehome them (like my girl), and they usually have a clause in their puppy contracts that if an owner has to surrender their dog, they have to give the breeder first chance to reclaim and rehome the dog and not just give to a shelter as a requirement to purchase. There are only a couple of registered breeders here in the USA, but not sure where you’re located.

They are gorgeous dogs with an amazing furry silky coat, awesome eyes and slightly wolfy profile face. All these sub- polar breeds around the Arctic are so similar and different at the same time (laika, husky, samoyed, malamute etc). They need a similar environment and outdoor activity in line with their origins. 😍
