Rumor has is, the piece you cut at 4:46 is still falling... I appreciate ya filming ,Reg. Looks like enough work already, between the trees and terrain. Some beautiful country though...For sure
::::: Update ::::: This log was just spotted by Graeme McMahon in Australia , where he was able stop its travel using his legendary " limb kick" method .
Man at 4:50 that log had some heat on it!! Could only imagine the kind of dmg that log could inflict! Thanks for another vid reg, love watching you work my friend, stay safe and climb high!
Again great footage,, in between all the rough terrain / hazzards!! R reg with a happy head,,, exciting times!!! Brilliant sounds... great noise.......
That last one was spooky, with such a complicated, rotten core it would be impossible to define a single hinge. My brother is a logger here on the island. I believe this is the closest I'll come to understanding what he does for a living. It is easy to see why he was drawn to the trade.
Amazing tree take downs, wow! Great jobs! However, I'd like to see the whole fellings, right from the beginning... Super chainsaw sound, can't get enough, can watch them over and over. One of the best felling clips I have ever seen!
Joe Bisping he was all like get away from it. Lol. Partner just staring at it while it was starting to split. It’s like throwing a hand grenade and not taking cover because you want to watch it explode. Haha! You got some great videos yourself Joe. One day I’ll be on your level in regards to content. Stay safe. Cool seeing you around the YT community like I do.
💯💯💯💯💯👊👊👊👊👊💯💯💯💯💯👊👊👊👊👊💯💯💯👊👊👊👊🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪 that's all I can say I think this is probably one of the best videos you've ever done in your lifetime this is such a play to play to play to play epic epic epic video tree after tree after tree where did you get a gig like this?? Brother you put that video together like you're playing a deck of cards excellent job brother
Reg this work here is it for the province for safety or does a logging company come in and recover the downed trees? My noob sense says that where you are it must be too difficult to recover the downed trees??
Reg I have been watching your vids for years and gained innumerable amounts of knowledge. I am the tree man I am today because of you! I have to admit one of my favorite videos though is the guy racing to beat you into Starbucks 😂. You and I have had a few conversations on arbor site and I count you as a mentor and friend, even though we have never actually met. Thank you brother for sharing your knowledge.
Reg another great video, scenery is amazing. Just a quick question, what happened to one of your vids, believe it was called west coast feller vs mancunian hacker. That video makes me laugh. Did Jarred ask you to take it down!!!
A bar and chain got pinched in the wood where it was so badly fractured. We eventually had to give up trying to get it free, so instead we had to disengage it from powerhead and leave and a couple of wedges in there while the tree fell. These things happen
Hard to say because they were mostly hollow or rotted out in the middle. The big dead fir, second to last clip looked to have over 400 growth rings....even though it wasn't that tall or wide. Looks horrible and destructive on the video, but in reality whats being cut down is a drop in the ocean for the 10s of thousand acres of similar forest coverage through that region.
Great Video, love the scenary and the skill to make dangerous hazard removal look safe, you just need a wanky click bate title and you will get a milion views,.
For Christ sakes Reg. Honestly just throwing around those happy days footage. I think I need a new employer. Mmmm nothing like hinge crack in the morning to get ya started. All the best.
you got some weak trees up there .. got to build um with steel... or concrete... ... that road down below some of that gees .. all of that is going to go to waste too isn't it .. you could get quite a few houses out of that I am sure.... keep doing the good work keeping us all safe... :o)
It's great to see some footage from this job. Jobs like this often go un-filmed.
Rumor has is, the piece you cut at 4:46 is still falling... I appreciate ya filming ,Reg. Looks like enough work already, between the trees and terrain. Some beautiful country though...For sure
yeah, I was waiting for a splash!

Nice work, Reg, both the falling and the filming....appreciate you taking the time to film and edit it for us! Work safe!
Great job reg, always a pleasure to see you’re still kicking!
I'm glad to see you've been keeping busy! I've missed your posts. It was worth the wait! Great job and footage!
Man at 4:50 that log had some heat on it!! Could only imagine the kind of dmg that log could inflict! Thanks for another vid reg, love watching you work my friend, stay safe and climb high!

Watching you getting up the bank only shows how risky that job was ! great location, hard ground thanks for the video Reg
economy of motion and focused concentration. thanks for the video, Reg Coates.
Respectable. You're a real bloke
Great vid!!! Thanks for taking time to film, looks exhausting without even adding the camera
Nice job Reg thank you for sharing
The drop view on that hill side was something. Good drops keep up the good work.
Right on man. Nice to just do some falling sometimes. Good work and nice views.
Some gnarly looking trees there, keep safe Reg.
Such a pro Reg! They called the right man for the job for sure. That tree at the end gave me some serious chills. Stay safe out there in those woods!
Thanks mate, but in this instance Im just present to assist the other guy and share the work load in anyway I can. This is entirely his operation.
some Knarly trees in there, good work Reg thanks for sharing
Whew. That last one was something.
Beautiful view you have right there Reg!

Been good watching you reg ✌
Awesome work Reg, looked like some real awkward positions to be felling from with limited escape zones... great filming to!
Awesome content as always, the work in this video reminds me of grufrocks videos from some years back, miss that guys stuff.
Amazing tree take downs, wow! Great jobs! However, I'd like to see the whole fellings, right from the beginning... Super chainsaw sound, can't get enough, can watch them over and over. One of the best felling clips I have ever seen!
That’s some good work Reg.
Always enjoy your videos. Be safe, keep up the quality content.
Nicely done!

Reg had to watch that last tree four times wow. Stay sharp
Loved the log flying down the hill and the last one
Good job! Those were some big trees. That last one will make you pucker haha

You’ve got some mighty big stones, Reg
Not sure how you focus with all the beauty that surrounds you up there!!
Every treeman's dream job
great video...great cutting..
The mighty Martin Evans taught me everything I know! 😂 where u from? Fucking Nuneaton!! 😂😂😂
Thanks for the video Reg!
I assume most of those trees were in remote places. Why did they have you take them down?
Highway related. Thanks
Some big old growth up there in Canada!
Love that music you used, what is it? Also that last tree was epic!
Great job. Cut it deep
Reg this work here is it for the province for safety or does a logging company come in and recover the downed trees? My noob sense says that where you are it must be too difficult to recover the downed trees??
Looked like some fun! Transmission line hazard trees?
Highway related. Thanks
Talk about limited access! Those hills do wonders for the legs. Too bad we’re half wore down to enjoy it.
Big old boys. Lovely
I could tell you were a bit nervous for the fella on that last one.
Nice job reg. How many days are you on that for ? Awkward positions to stand by the looks of it.
Its been ongoing for a while. This was my first shift
I guess you are just contracting yeh 😁. Great work 👍🏻
Was residential slow for a bit Reg ? Awesome work!
No its always busy. Just helping someone out.
Reg did you ever think that some day you would be cutting trees in such a picturesque location? 💪🏻👍🏻
Ive seen a lot of great views at work over the years Mickey. To be honest the most memorable was out in the blue mountains, NSW Australia

Realizing now it’s not a commercial logging operation, but still , awesome
Hi Dwain. Thanks. If you scroll back a couple years theres some commercial Heli logging vids
Rough terrain ! Climbing the ground never mind the trees ! Trees used for lumber or pulp for paper !
They all staying. Going back to earth as nurse logs
Reg Coates : Ah ! The aul biodiversity !
Reg another great video, scenery is amazing. Just a quick question, what happened to one of your vids, believe it was called west coast feller vs mancunian hacker. That video makes me laugh. Did Jarred ask you to take it down!!!
I know one you mean. Not sure where it is though. Jared still around....still loves the camera in himself: czcams.com/video/sWGxNJla37I/video.html
That last was wicked! What was he trying to retrieve from under it?
A bar and chain got pinched in the wood where it was so badly fractured. We eventually had to give up trying to get it free, so instead we had to disengage it from powerhead and leave and a couple of wedges in there while the tree fell. These things happen
@@Recoates Thanks for the reply! Looking forward to more content in the future Reg!
the snag fallers ball... whats better then a plate full of sketchy snags? a plate full of sketchy snags on steep ground
Indeed. Like cutting through the red wire at times
What was stuck under the last tree?
A bar and chain. Got pinched
Is that overlooking Finlayson Arm Saanich Inlet?
No, but a close resemblance. Im not at liberty to say, sorry
@@Recoates No worries.
Couldn’t hear what he lost at the end? Great location great views 🇨🇦
Bar and chain got pinched in the undercut. Pushed our luck and came up short
Timber Timber Timber and that's all folks 👍
Question.do you ever or have you used a bore cut?
Sure lots of times. Mainly on shorter trees
@@Recoates do you have a preference?
Either you guys recorded this months ago or I am logging in the wrong part of the world.
4:50 tossing the caber :-)
Jesus that’s some sketchy terrane and some even more sketchier trees
What was he looking for under the last tree Reg?
Nick Williams : The lunch bag ! 😂
look reg, i found the bar oil! :P
Bar and chain, got pinched bad. We had to take the powerhead off and leave it
Reg Coates dam, that sux. Hope it wasn't early in the day.
@@attainteddragon no, last tree of the day. Just pushed our luck and paid the price
any idea rough age of those?

@@Recoatesthanks for that info - amazing circle of life stuff
is it sad that I shout TIMBER into my phone when the trees start to fall

Shame to cut them down
