The name of the TV show seems not to have been announced yet but one thing is certain. Having Lucy sing the show's song will do no harm!
Lucy is an absolute angel inside and out, and vocally, always with a beautiful, positive, uplifting message and vibe. And her younger sister Martha is quickly climbing right up there alongside her. Great values and upbringing, staying on the rails in a world that's going off the rails.
Lucy Thomas’s performance of her New Original Solo “Brand New Day” is a masterpiece of vocal perfection. Lucy demonstrates her vocal finesse, adds another genre and delivery style on top of the dozen she has already mastered. She has successfully blended Broadway, Pop, and Soul together in such a way that listeners are captivated from the very start. This music will be used as the Theme Song for a New TV Series. Lucy has already recorded her "Hallelujah" Theme song for a New Movie as well. Let’s not forget she is the Main Character for “Rosie The Musical” to open in West End London Theater, the Gold Standard for Theater in the World.
While many singers overuse Riffs and Runs to cover up their sloppy singing, Lucy performs both smooth as silk. Her technique adds depth and dynamics to an already beautifully performance. Riffs and Runs are common in certain genres. Some famous singers are known for giant ones up, down, and all over the scale. It can be distracting and even exhausting to the listeners. It is Vocal Gymnastics with each singer trying to outdo the other.
Lucy’s precise note placement, perfect enunciation, and physical delivery are so crystal clear that listeners never have to wonder what she just said or meant. Listeners are not left wondering where this is going. Fans already know that Lucy treats each song as a Novel, having a beginning, middle, and end. New listeners will immediately be able to relate and know exactly where they are in Lucy’s story she is telling us through her singing. Many of us don't want the Story to end.
Lucy has a very unique technical vocal skill. It is used effectively several times in “Brand New Day”. I first noticed it several years ago in a different song when Lucy was younger. It was so unique that I pointed it out to Lucy. I am so pleased that she is using it again, and it has only gotten better. There is no Vocal Term for it and I have never heard another singer ever perform it. I will simply Label the Technique "Lucy Thomas Accentuation” or LTA.
"Brand New Day" starts with perfect scales
Then warm ups with perfect Riffs and Runs that add, not distract
Prelude at 00:50 simple run then start of LTA at 00:58 (and tomorrow)
LTA at 2:07(and tomorrow) a short run and another LTA at 2:10 finishing phrase (tomorrow)
Perfect key change, more perfect scales
Perfect run at 2:40, another perfect LTA at 2:46 (and tomorrow)
More perfect key changes, slight runs, perfect LTA at 3:25 (and tomorrow)
Lucy can effortlessly change key or jump an octave or more.
She finishes and we won’t forget the performance we just witnessed.
Notes about Riffs and Runs:
Riffs and Runs can be overused and actually distract from the performance. I call it Vocal Gymnastics and they can exhaust the listeners. The sounds tend to be muddy and the listener is not sure where the song is headed. Riffs and Runs are more common is certain genres and some singers are known for giant ones all over the scale. Many other singers abuse it to cover up their sloppy singing.
Notes on LTA (Lucy Thomas Accentuation):
This vocal technique requires extremely precise note placement, more precise enunciation, and more precise performance skills. Riffs and Runs can be learned with practice. The LTA Technique is far more difficult.
In LTA vocal technique, each individual note is distinct. Pitch can go both up or down and often goes both ways within same word or phrase. The individual notes are short, maybe 1/16th's or even 1/32's but can be longer. The notes are very precise and you can hear each note easily and distinctly. Also the notes may not be in same order on scale and can jump between notes.
Even the volume can jump up or down between individual notes. I have heard it performed with words and phrases, even when mouthing sounds. Add perfect vibrato on top, you will immediately notice the difference between LTA versus Riffs and Runs.
You will remember LTA (Lucy Thomas Accentuation) as a new baseline measurement for real talent. Less than 1 percent of singers can perform it, over 99 percent cannot. The fact I have never heard it in the over 50 years I have been involved in music except for Lucy Thomas probably means no one else can even perform it.

Just when we think there can be no more surprises, Lucy shows us her incredible vocal finesse and a new singing style. I lost count how many different and distinct genres and styles Lucy can perform flawlessly. Never put Lucy in a box.
It is refreshing to see and hear real talent. Especially in today's flood of talent-less performances on the internet. So many rely on gimmicks or hide in studio. Auto-tune and lackluster physical deliveries that make us scratch our heads.
Lucy Thomas has real talent and it not afraid to use it. 1 mic, 1 camera, 1 take start to finish. Her physical delivery connects in a deep and emotional way with her listeners. We become part of the story Lucy is telling via her song. Like a great novel, Lucy's story has a beginning, middle and end. We don't want it to end, just a little more please.

She has a truly beautiful controlled voice and is one in a million .Her rendition of this song is just plain beautiful and what a great message in todays world ,Lucy is at the moment recording two more originals for the Musical Rosie which she is taking the lead roll due to open in London next year. We hope she may release them early as she has the others .I hope you will continue supporting Lucy as I think there is more in the pipe line. And still plenty for you to listen to on her Channel. M & G, You said it Ginger, breath and tone. Lucy does some very long holds in this one (don't know where she gets all that breath), and her pitch is spot-on, whether a long note or with added vibrato (no drift at all). I also noticed that every time she sings "tomorrow", the accent and punch (including body language) gets a little stronger.
I am glad you did not interrupt the song this time: this is too wonderful to interrupt.... It's of course the warmth and clearness of Lucy's voice but also (to me at least) the simplicity of this melody: it is so easy to join in after listening a few times when you like to do that. Listening to and reading the lyrics I guess it will be a series about people with emotional trouble in their lives, religion and finding comfort in life. Which can be a very bumpy road to follow sometimes...

Hi ya Mike & Ginger - FINALLY - I have been looking forward to you reacting to another of Lucy's videos and this one in particular! Ginger, great analysis of Lucy NOT being a Whitney or Mariah - Lucy definitely has a more laid-back, crystal clear, and powerful presentation. This song, with its build-up from the acapella, to the addition of the orchestra, then the addition of the choir, to the crescendo at the end is really breath-taking. Hi Ginger n Mike - I’m new to your site n so glad I caught you with Lucy Thomas. I’m pushing 70 n have had the opportunity to to listen to the best from the late 50’s onwards. I have a very open mind re music so I’m not held to one type. A little over 6 months ago I saw Lucy on CZcams n knew nothing of her, BUT,,,,her voice is like a magnet demanding to be heard. And she doesn’t restrict her songs to one type. . I’ve listened to most of the song’s available on Spotify n CZcams n WOW, Lucy is such a breath of fresh air air n speaking of breath , how great is her control? She’s taken on songs from Streisand, Whitney, Celine , n many others n she makes it her own in such a beautiful way.
Yes I think she could sing in musicals, opera etc as well as theatre, TV n as she does now. I’ve heard she is to be the main star in a show called ROSIE? I’m not sure if it’s tv or theatre., it’s out in 2024. She mesmerises me with her eyes n her voice takes us on so many different journeys in each song n I just love how she props, opens her arms n digs deep to produce another incredible high pitch …. Then, bring her voice down so soft n smooth. Oh she’s like an Angel. She has that real “ clean living, good upbringing, angelic like n doesn’t need a ton of jewellery or makeup . She looks so naturally pretty n her voice is incredible to listen to over such a variety of songs. She’s everything good n great about music. No fancy stuff needed! I believe she will become the greatest singer in the world next year n she’s on her pathway now. When Lucy sings, it’s like she’s singing to us like …. One on one. It’s such a pleasure to listen to her.

Hi Ginger Why don´t you go back in time and listen to Lucy sing "One day" this is the song that linked Chris to lucy at the age of 13.He said he was introduced to Lucy by a friend and was so impressed with her voice. He said, he knew then that she had the ability to be the greatest female vocalist of all time , she also had the rare ability to interpret a song and bring the audience into it. He asked her to sing a song he had written ( One Day) which she did ,This song is sung in the Up coming musical Rosie and was released 6 years This is the only song Lucy will not sing in the Musical as she is 7years old at the start of the musical and is clearly to old now to play a 7year old The song will be sung by a young girl named Norah Thomas. (Coincidence in the surname but unrelated )You have already reacted to one of the songs from the musical "Broken Dreams" Lucy will be singing all the rest. Chris Broom is an award winning songwriter and owner of Cavendish records the Label Lucy is under. Chris was the producer of "Brand new day" Ginger you were correct in thinking Lucy should be in Musical theatre .Chris Broom has held up the opening of Rosie as Lucy was unable to work on it until now as she was still at school. The problem with long Netflix / Amazon tv series is that often they get fat and bloated with lazy directing. It’s very common and some episodes just drag on and on.
Off course there are some stunning exceptions like GOT, Breaking Bad and Peaky Blinders.

Of course it is all a matter of personal taste but Jake Kohn / Frostbite only highlights how good Lucy Thomas is. She possesses tone control (sadly lacking in "Frostbite"); she demonstrates a clarity of lyrics (sadly lacking in "Frostbite"); she exudes remarkable breath control (sadly lacking in "Frostbite"). Above all else, she engenders professionalism and a comprehensive understanding of music. However, as stated, it is all a matter of personal taste.
